  • Great vid. And very cool Tele. I too use a line 6 pod at home but not live.

  • Heck yea!

  • haha the end of the video is the best!!

  • @fentelgibfly Great Cover!!! I have to ask a few questions. I can barely make out the text below the word "Telecaster" on the headstock, since there are words there it leads me to believe it says "Made in USA" What year and model is your Telecaster? Also, from what I can see and your tone I would deduce that you are on the Bridge pickup, full volume with the tone rolled back to about 60%? I'm trying to match your tone but I wanted to ask to be clear. Anyways, THANK YOU for such a great cover!!!!

  • @h4ckb0x7 hello and thx a lot!! my Tele is a japanese one, year 1990 with pickups Seymour Duncan Alnico Pro!! I am on the bridge pickup , right, better sound with disto with full treble tone !!! I have a Pod Line 2.0 and I use Marshall model (brit high gain) and Soldano model (Modern hi gain)...difficult to imitate a sound very closely... peace out!!!!

  • @fentelgibfly I used to have a 1985 MIJ Fender Strat. The older Japanese Fenders are REALLY nice and I wish I would have never let mine go. How do you like the Seymour Duncan Anico Pros??

  • @h4ckb0x7 I've had one japanese Strat in 1986 (reselled to a friend) , good model , except the bridge pickup wich is to much screamy!!!! the friend replaced the genuine pickups installed some EMG ones. my Seymour Duncan are very nice, especially the bridge one wich gives good reaction to distortion, although single coil one. the neck one is a good one, but I think the dynamic response is too much low., otherwise good sound too, I've adjusted this neck pickup higher than normal position.

  • @fentelgibfly I didn't much like the electronics in my MIJ Strat either. I replaced them all with the Fender Custom Shop Noiseless pickups.

  • Dude, thanks so much for making this. You just cut what would probably be hours learning this so I can play this with my band. PS you look like the drummer for the rolling stones.

  • @bobpebbles thank you! oh yes indeed, the looking like Charlie Watts???maybe the shape of the face....:-)

  • HOW CAN YOU KEEP A STR8 FACE WHEN UR THAT GOOD SHOW SOME EMOTION

  • Bonjour !

  • @MaiLoveSakuSasu merci beaucoup, malgré mon "grand" age tu peux me dire "tu"!!!

  • i was the 80's dude. everyone was too coked to feel anything. sick lesson bro. spotless.

  • Hey man, great cover! What chords are you playing @ 0:25-0:26? I can't figure this out for the life of me.

    Thanks!

  • @speedwagon1213 thx a lot! well at this moment, there's a F#/C# (x-x-11-11-11-x) and a B/D# (x-x-13-11-12-x). you read from left to right LowE-A-D-G-B-HighE. got it?

  • @fentelgibfly Aw, I was so close! Thanks man, I was driving myself nuts. Now I can go home and play this! THX!!!

  • @speedwagon1213 you wellcome!

  • hello i have a question are you using a multi effects processor or individual pedals?

  • @rp500lover hello! I use a Line 6 Pod 2.0 and its Floorboard which includes wah and volume pedal.

  • also try songsterr . com for the tabs. they helped a lot.

  • @Matte1011 = why not...

  • @fentelgibfly yeah man...you should put up some more. I like the fact that I can actually see everything you're doing. I'm on a tight schedule so again, I appreciate you showing this. If I had a webcam I would do the same. Off to learn some Huey Lewis now my friend! Thanks again!

  • this helped me with the one part where I couldn't see what you were doing with stayin on the C# i/o going to the E and back. It only does it like once I think. Nice job man. This vid helped me a lot. Gotta learn it for this friday and I nailed it in like 15 minutes although I don't play the solo note for note but drunk people at a bar aren't that critical when it comes to impeccable accuracy. I make it sound close. LOL!

  • @Matte1011 = thx, kind of you to say I'm helpful! concerning the solo, you have some repetitive licks that you can arrange by yourself (shift the rythm, add or remove some notes) and the fast lick at the end , you can manage, i'm not sure that Prince himself plays it exactly as the same model on gig! and concerning the one at the very end, I've manage with improv!

  • Awesome cover! Great talent!

  • @chadcess =thx a lot !

  • I don't like prince's music very much but I like how you play it! Great job.

  • This is pretty cool. The personal touch really made it excellent. Did you learn this by ear or do you have the tabs to it?
