YouTube is a unique venue that is quite unlike other video sites including Googles really bad site. Im sorry that it was bought but it was going to happen. It takes money to run servers and such and who really would turn that much money down? However that being said I hope that we dont lose what is so "tubular" vs all other vid sites. Its amazing here. I agree that perhaps there will be more focus on the whole copyrighted videos thing, which really is a huge part of YouTube's appeal, but as far as I know, Google and YouTube will still operate as two seperate entities.
As for your hair, I'd suggest you cut it to chin or shoulder length, but it's really up to you.
I don't quite agree that the internet is primarily for the five things you listed in your video. For example, flickr is quite popular as a photosharing website, which has been acquired by Yahoo, among other things.
What Google and Yahoo have been doing recently reminds me of what Microsoft used to do - just buy as many good services as possible to increase their "share of the internet".

I agree with you. Yes, it's great for YouTube financially, but they've already got a big enough name and they seem to be doing pretty well to me financially.
I think the major issue for the normal users s the copyright. 99% of the videos I've watched on youtube are anime. Google will definitely start cracking down on copyright, so that will get rid of all my beloved free anime. Yes, I can download, but that takes up a lot of my time and youtube is so much easier.

Cut it to shoulder leangth and see how u feel with it at that leangth if u like it shorter try and get used to it then gradually cut it shorter.

No, youtube has not bought Youtube , it is currently under negotiation. If it were to purchase Youtube, (which it's not) It would face billions of law suites from Youtube users who have copyrighted material uploaded via Youtube. In short, no it is not going to

F**K NO! If that happened, it would be one of the worse things to happen to the internet. Google should just make Google Videos match YouTube and try compeating. (He said that in the vid) Theres no point or any real benafit to Google if they buy YouTube either. YouTube should deney all offers because it the best for us users, (And its getting more populer so they can make more money out of the site.)
Last thing: Haircut, you should pass. I'm a dude in the UK to and I love my long hair. Keep it.

Agreed. It also bothers me that they just made 1.65 billion (I think thats the right number) on videos made by people all over the world. Pretty much everyons "art" was just sold and no one else will see any of the money. That just bothers me is all. Oh and dont cut your hair :P Long hair is hard to deal with but its nice in the end

Digital rights will be a showdown over this, no matter who bought YouTube. Of the suitors - Microsoft, Yahoo, others maybe - I'm good with Google. What emerges is the question of Google now morphing significantly into a mega-media corportion (like AOL, Clear Channel, Viacom, Fox, etc.) and straying, for better or worse, into a whole new biz model. Hey, you've got a great thoughtful perspective - don't cut the hair until a job makes you. Cheers!

YouTube is a unique venue that is quite unlike other video sites including Googles really bad site. Im sorry that it was bought but it was going to happen. It takes money to run servers and such and who really would turn that much money down? However that being said I hope that we dont lose what is so "tubular" vs all other vid sites. Its amazing here. I would hate to see that go!

I agree that perhaps there will be more focus on the whole copyrighted videos thing, which really is a huge part of YouTube's appeal, but as far as I know, Google and YouTube will still operate as two seperate entities.
As for your hair, I'd suggest you cut it to chin or shoulder length, but it's really up to you.

I don't quite agree that the internet is primarily for the five things you listed in your video. For example, flickr is quite popular as a photosharing website, which has been acquired by Yahoo, among other things.
What Google and Yahoo have been doing recently reminds me of what Microsoft used to do - just buy as many good services as possible to increase their "share of the internet".

On the google thing... all I know is that I hope it won't change anything. My friend told me about it this morning and it's annoying me. I don't know if it will change anything or not, but I really hope it doesn't because we all love youtube and it is for the people isn't it? I shouldn't ramble. I'll make a video blog about it! Maybe.

I agree with you. Yes, it's great for YouTube financially, but they've already got a big enough name and they seem to be doing pretty well to me financially.
I think the major issue for the normal users s the copyright. 99% of the videos I've watched on youtube are anime. Google will definitely start cracking down on copyright, so that will get rid of all my beloved free anime. Yes, I can download, but that takes up a lot of my time and youtube is so much easier.

Good luck to all the youtube staff :) But the thing it bothers me the most is if they´re going to let us upload anime... about 1/4 of the views are from that and it´s the reason youtube is more visited than google.video, they examine every single video uploaded, you not, please keep up the good work and let us enjoy anime: owned videos are in other sites like metacafe or google.video, but this site is special because you´re free to upload whatever you want (of course non-offensive videos)
