  • what kind of angels are these?

  • @THERIGHTNIGHT27

Some are half black (the tail end) some are just vanilla Angels.

  • Keeping a betta with gouramis and angelfish is a terrible idea.

  • @Tristansfishcrazy

Good eyes! Yes, the dorsal fin is clipped. It wasn't the gouramis (there was only one anyway) but the angels were nipping each other's fins. After all I wouldn't recommend having 4 Angels in a 36G tank for that reason. You live and learn...

  • very nice!

    using c02?

  • @vett3l0l

Thanks and right on! CO2, indeed =)...

  • Hey could I keep These fish togerthr In a 23 gallon Tank

    6 Tiger Barbs

    6 Neon Tetras

    2 Anglefish

    1 Corydora

  • @cmhass42

Would recommend to not throw the Angels in the mix. They might eat the Neons, your tank is a little small for them and on top of that the Tiger Barbs will likely nip the Angel's fins. So Angels == no good for this tank, pal ;)...

  • @cmhass42 5 tigar bars would be okay on ther own in a 20g tank but the rest are okay make sure you get adult neons and baaby angelfish so the angelfish dont see em as food

  • nice tank mate (i comment this before i saw the hole vid) how on earth can you have a betta and cichlids (angel) together? i did it and they start fighting as soon as they saw each other

  • @hihaaf3

Thanks mate =)! No problem with the Angels and the Siamese here. I'd say, even fish have different tempers and may be I got lucky ;). Needless to say the Siamese is long gone. RIP. So are the angels :(. They live on forever online tho...

  • nice tank mate

  • I'm so glad i found this video. Now im sure ill be able to put gouramis and angles together in my 37 gallon.

  • Can i keep these fish together?

    18 Corydoras

    2 Rams

    4 Angelfish

    4 - 6 Platies

    4 - 6 Swordtails

    15 Neon Tetras

    4 Guppies

    4 Gouramies

  • @TheWorldofPets that should be fine, watch the gourami though they usually don't get along unless you have 2 females per every male...18 cory cats is probably too much since they will be competing for food..id get maybe 6..but it all depends on your tank size.

  • @TheWorldofPets

That's a long list! Hope your tank is big enough ;). I'd be worried that the Angels eat the Neons and/or the Guppies. Pretty sure, the fish store can advice too, if they haven't done so yet ;)...

  • Dude can you help me you obviously look like an expert on the matter. All my leafy plants have holes in them and they usaully die..... Yet my plants that have no leaves do not die? And if a fish is pale is it stressed, what is the reqired space for a large angel fish?

  • Love the tank good work mate

  • i was told that angle fish and gouramies cant go in the same tank it that true. i love the angle fish that you have they are so pertty.

  • @MrSnake4441

There were no problems in my tank. The angel fish mostly tussled with themselves. The gouramis got ignored and vice versa. If anything I'd recommend a larger tank (>50G) if having angels. They need a bit more room to get out of each others way if need be...

  • did u have a betta in there? pretty cool tank btw

  • Yes, that was a betta =).

  • hey wats that blue fish a 0:06 please respond

  • @radioEraMike thats a Gourami very cool fish and not that expensive

  • @radioEraMike

That's an Opaline Gourami (Trichogaster trichopterus).

  • Beautiful angelfish, gouramis & a beta. Great plants too.

  • @bbqliliha

    Thanks =)!

  • how the hell could you keep a betta in a community tank and have it not bother any other fish? Thats really awesome! I didnt think anyone could do that

  • @Draegoron

I trained the betta to behave. Just kidding ;), Bettas are mostly aggressive against each other (the males) or anything what looks like them. But he was by far the smallest fish and rather shy.

  • WOW! Beautiful tank...it would look so nice with a single species setup of angelfish and maybe a pleco are a few cori catfish!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • gouramis work with everyone type of fish. i had a similar set up to this but dicided to ditch the angelfish but keep my pearl gouramis so i stuck them in a tank with cichlids and they do great, anyways nice tank

  • oh my bad thought it was 26 lts :P

  • too little space for guramis and scalars anyway :S

  • Gourami's are great. I have one and it comes right to the tank waiting to be fed, if it's really hungry it starts to feel the glass it's ventral fins (the whiskers). And it always nips on my fingers (playfully) while I'm hand-feeding it.

  • @scaremenga

Funny =)! I upgraded to a larger tank by now which is mostly stocked with Rainbow fish. I still have one angel fish tho. The rainbows are so fast when eating that the angel doesn't get enough. So I resorted to feed my angel fish by hand as well. It picks the food right from my fingers and the rainbows are not that brave.

  • @helostoma how many watts of light do you use?how many watts of light should i out for my 70 L tank if i put no co2?if i put co2,how many watts?

  • @9912699125

On this 36G tank I used to have 2x65W power compact bulbs (21"). Didn't blast them all the time but had it timer controlled like:

    bulb1: 8am-2pm; 4pm-11pm

    bulb2: 11am-1:50pm; 4:10pm-5pm

The "siesta" from 2-4pm is to avoid algae growth. Well, works only somewhat.

If you wanna grow plants make sure the color temperature is somewhere between 6000-7000K (daylight spectrum).

Now I got a 70G tank with two pairs of 39W T5 HO fluorescent lamps (34") operated with the same timing.

  • @helostoma why do i need so much light?i thought it should be WPG?if i wan a low tech one,how many watts should i put?

  • Hey, nice tank. I was wondering. I have a 29 gallon (cycled) and I was thinking of making it a Angelfish tank. I was thinking of getting: 3 Oto Catfish, 6 Julie Cory catfish, 3 Swortails, and 2 Angelfish. I will also have a few live plants in there such as some java moss/ferns, and amazon swords. I heard that the Java Ferns are good for eggs. I also have a few rocks in the tank for hiding. Does this sound overall good? Please get back to me, Thanks. GL with your tank. :)

  • @MyFatalTouch

Hope your online name doesn't get in the way with the fish keeping ;). The fish selection might get a little tight for a 29G tank (is that still below 1inch of fish per gallon?) but given regular cleaning (e.g. 25% water exchange every other week) might work fine. Live plants are certainly very good to have for all the fish in the tank.

  • @helostoma I,myself, have a 70 liter tank,i am thinking of making it into a planted tank, would a 1200liter/hour filter be too much?(i dont let it go full power, only half the power now)i want to put a few guppies, lyk 8 or 9,and 2 small gold fish,i also wanted to get a pair of angels,is it okay?

  • Hi,

No, you cannot put Angels and goldfish or guppies together. Angelfish require temperatures of between 72-90 Fahrenheit, 80 degrees is the desirable mating temperature. This is far too warm for guppies or goldfish.

  • @AquaManifesto but i now have 4 guppies,2 angels n 2 goldfish n 2 platies in my tank!

  • hey what is that amazing fish with the black stripe and the yelly underbelly? gorgeous tank.

  • If you talk about the torpedo shaped guy(s) these are Siamese Algae Eaters (or Crossocheilus siamensis if u wanna be scientific). Fun fish! Got another video with small and big ones posted too...

  • What's the song????

  • Still Mike Oldfield's "Sentinel"...

  • dude, awesome tank, im actually putting my tank like this together right now, i'm going to model mine after yours!

  • Thanks! Good luck with that. Post a video once done!

  • Your tank is beautiful but 3 angelfish in a 36G tank that is so densely planted will stunt the growth of the angels. that size tank is suitable for only 1 angel fish

  • You might be right. It's not a problem any longer though. Alas I only have one angel left by now and also upgraded to a 75G tank :P...

  • do you use plastic plants?

if not do u use plant fertilizer ??

  • No and yes. No plastic plants. And yes, using fertilizer (Seachem Iron, Potassium and Comprehensive supplement if you like the details). Also got Seachem Flourite planting substrate and CO2 injection to get these puppies all growing...

  • @helostoma im getting some plants but i dont have fertilizer at the bootom how will this affect my plants?

  • wow, very nice plants and tank!!

  • Thanks!

  • Beautiful planted tank. Angelfish and gouramis r my 2 favourites and i also love discus. I'm gunna get a big tank soon and im definately putting angels and gouramis in

  • Very nice planted tank. We have one very similar to yours with angel fish, diferent kinds of gourami's, clown loaches and an algae eater. I like the fact that you put a fighting fish in there. Very nice addition. Check out our channel.

  • Thanks! Looks like you got some real nice and sturdy aquarium stands there!

  • beautiful fish at 0:07

  • Great looking tank

  • Hi,

What kind of angels are those and where did you get them? Amazing looking!!!

    Thanks,

    Steve

  • Beautiful tank, bit over populated for me, but excelent choices. To the question about gouramis eating plants...some will, but not if well fed. Another problem is them wanting to use plant peices to make a bubble nest, avoid this by having plants that reach the top. Also to the buy asking about the betta in this tank, bettas are agressive but having a large number of fish splits the agression, also bettas arent stupid...they arent going to act too agressive to fish MUCH large than themselves.

  • Thanks! Yeah, I know the tank is pretty well populated with about 1inch of fish per gallon. No problems with the gouramis touching any plant. Granted, I feed them ;).

  • how did you get the betta to get along with the angels and guorami?

  • Without any problems. Some more comments along that line below...

  • well then this is the first successful guorami and betta aquarium:)

  • hi my sis want to get a betta with angel fishs and we want to no if you betta was ok in there

  • Yeah I had no trouble with the betta and the angelfish. Keep in mind bettas don't get very old. Mine just died a few days back. Had it for 15 months. RIP blue betta!!!

  • Gouramis in a planted tank? I didn't think that was possible. Have the Gouramis eaten any of your plants?

  • No problem at all. They strictly stick to the diet provided by me ;) and may be scrape off some algae occasionally. Never heard of gouramis damaging plants. Which kind did you have in mind?

  • At a pet store I saw an orange one nibbling on a plant. Also read that they are vegetarians.

  • yeah, i was told that the gouramis would eat the plants. i have two decent size ones. and so far so good. i see them taking bites of moss here and there but so far so good!

  • Really nice planted tank i am planting my 135 gallon community tank I currently have 11 angelfish in it. Nice work!

  • Thanks! Sounds like u got a pretty nice tank urself. Got a movie of it ;)???

  • thanks i appreciate it =) plants are so complicated i wish i know everything that needs to be done to get it done the first time because i spended so much money and they died but now i know better =)

  • hey i have a question about the plants... i have been trying to start my planted aquarium but always something seems to go wrong... do you use undergravel heating?do you have CO2 what type of gravel did you use? do you add anything to boost up plant growth?

  • Hey, keep trying. Took a while til I got things to work. Start with some easy to care plants. E.g. Anubia looks quite nice and is pretty tough. No undergravel heating I got. Yes, I got a CO2 controller/injection and Seachem Flourite substrate. Put this in pretty much at the same time. After this the jungle started to grow. No guarantee tho it's such a simple recipe. There's more to water chemistry than this...

  • Hi,

What types of Angels are they and where did you get them? Are those Zebra Angels. I can't find Angels with Red eyes anywhere.

    Thanks,

    Steve

  • Hi, yeah, I like these red colored "angel eyes" too. No special breed that I know of. Just vanilla angels. Call a few fish stores in your vicinity and ask them if they got angels with red eyes. May be you'll have some luck. Shouldn't be too difficult. As long as you keep your fish tank clean angels are not hard to keep. Make sure the tank is not too small 30G minimum, I'd say...

  • Hi,

What type of angels are these? Those red eyes are so cool looking. I would like to buy some. How hard are these to care for?

    Thanks,

    Steve

  • damn nice tank.........did you raise the angles ????/ and i have never seen a gourami like this it seems to be so beautiful what do you feed them ? i dont like to feed bloodworms because of it my fishes are sick now

  • Thanks! I bought the angels when they were little at my LSF. I feed my fish mostly Tetra flakes and occasionally - you won't believe it ;) - freeze dried bloodworms. Also frozen brine shrimp twice a week or so...

  • Really nice tank.

My angels ripped my guppies to shreds :( I'm not sure whether I want to even try getting a fighting fish in case they kill it. The same applies to gouramis, I was planning on getting (as i already have 2 angels, 6 kuhli loaches and 1 bristlenose pleco in my 30g) 2 dwarf gouramis, 12 neon tetras and a fighting fish. Do you think it will be ok? Btw nice planting, I just recently planted my tank, and it looks good at the moment... I hope it stays that way.

  • Thanks =)! If ur angels killed the guppies - don't feed them neons! I'd think the dwarf gouramis and the fighting fish should be fine. Good luck ;)!

  • I gave it a try, they completely ignored my shoal of 12 cardinals and went for the dwarf gouramis, to my annoyance, though I realised it was only one of them. So I took out the aggressive one and put it in my tiger barb tank, as I would rather the tiger barbs damaged that angel (not a nice angel anyway...) to the angel damaging both of my dawrf gouramis. It even attacks my bristlenose pleco :(

It's going to be the last time I get angels, they really don't seem very peaceful angel-like :(

  • Hmm, u got one bad ass angel there! How's he doing in the tiger barb tank? Hope the barbs don't trim the angel's fins too much.

Agreed, my four angels are not exactly "angels" either. They constantly fight amongst themselves. Wondering if they'd be more peaceful in a larger tank where they could easier avoid each other.

  • All is well now, the tiger barbs keep their distance, I guess because the angel is so big compared to them, but if the angel tries anything the tiger barbs are way too alert for him to even get close. One of the dwarf gouramis died from the stress of it all, I'm fairly sure it was the stress and not the water, as so far all of the cardinals, which I have read are quite fragile, seem fine. I guess your angels are fighting for pecking order rank, my tiger barbs do that about once every month.

  • hey, i am wanting to fill my aquarium with all kinds of plants and plant it really heavily just as the one in this video, if not more so, could someone please recommend some nice vivid color plants and grasses that would be suitable for it. thanks.

  • You gotta find out what does well under ur conditions. If ur lucky ur tap water makes the plants thrive already. In my clip you see Echinodorus, Anubia and Cabomba. I get them to grow with liquid fertilizer, Seachem Flouish substrate, CO2 injection and baking soda to up the KH. Careful don't just copy. Learn a bit about water chemistry first. Some good web sites out there. Peter Hiscock's book on Aquarium plants contains some good info and nice pics of plants to choose from...

  • Hey i like your tank, what kind of gourami is that big one, is it a pearl gourami?

  • Thanks! Not sure which one u refer to. The white guy is a kissing gourami. The blue one is a the "marble" version of Trichogaster trichopterus.

  • what's with song? sounds like a dance vercion of friday the 13th. spooky.

  • You watch too many spooky movies ;)! That's just Mike Oldfield. Check out his "best of (elements)". He's got some GREAT songs!!!

  • Great tank. Do you fish coexist peacefully with the fighter fish?

  • The fighter fish is actually quite shy and hiding a lot. No problems with fighting =)...

  • would they eat guppy fry? i have over 30 of them at any given time...check my vid.

  • Would think most fish with a mouth big enough would go for Guppy fry. Bad for the little Guppys, I know....

  • How do you know if a fish is predgnant because i have a blue paradise gourami, that was skinny then turned very fat in 2 weeks and it doesnt eat much?

  • At least for my angels not easy to tell. It's not that they get really fat before they lay eggs. It's easier to tell for life bearers like Guppys or Platys. Hope ur Gourami is ok!

  • beautyful aq!j wont to ask you do you know how older it have to be(angel fish)to have a eggs.and how is the ideal temperature?or someone pls tell me....j m beginner

  • Hmm, guess my angels were about 1 may be 1.5 years old when the layed eggs the first time. No babies though. Eggs get eaten quickly... My tank's temperature is 78...80F.

  • nice fish man

    =D

  • do the betta and angel fish ever have issues?

  • No problems. The betta is the smallest fish in the tank. Doesn't hurt anybody. The angels might chase him away occasionally but they do this with all the other fish too...

  • Thanks everybody for the comments. The fish and I appreciate the compliments ;).

The song is "Sentinel" from Mike Oldfield...

  • very nice.... which is the name of the song??

  • Great looking fish!

  • thats a beautiful fish tank mine is 55g but not as planted but with more fish youres is amazing though
