  • Nice one Mate! Great song, love the Rick!

  • Great!!

  • excellent!!!!!!

  • Holy fucking hell.... My favorite song.... THIS.

THIS is rock and roll... This is what rock and roll was supposed to be. You are the ONLY person besides Cochran himself who has played this song right. I've heard thousands of attempts, and tries, and all of them rip my heart out with every goddamn soulless note.

You've made it your own, your hobby. Not some pointless staging of history. You can make it big my friend. Try your hand at writing your own, bring it back.

  • Cool!

  • Thanks! Please take a look/listen to some of my recent original songs when you get the chance - Jez

  • Amazing job, you even sound like Eddie! Is there anyway you could post somewhere the tab for the solo you do here? I don't recall that solo in the original song from "the girl can't take it"... I would love to play it but it's kinda hard seeing your finger movements (mic stand in the way for most of it, plus I'm not sure what strings you are X-ing and which ones you are playing). In any case, thanks a lot, I've added your rendition to my favourites list! Five stars!

  • Wow! Thanks for those words. Much appreciated. The solo is my own invention. It's not hard to play, but really difficult to explain. It's just messin about with bits of chords really - Please take a look/listen to some of my recent original songs when you get the chance - Jez

  • That was sick u killed could you please put up a lesson to play it:)

  • My goodness, this is simply wonderful. Full marks for this one!

  • Great!

  • Love it! I've got a 60s copy 330 and I wish I could get a sound like that out of it! Did you transcribe yourself (I mean the solo especially) or did you get it from somewhere else? If so, I'd love the link.

Jim from Birmingham (UK not Alabama lol)

  • Hi Jim. Glad you like it. I worked out how to play it myself, and the solo is really my own invention ...I've been trying to develop ways of playing R n R guitar breaks that sound full without the need for accompaniment ...sort of rhythm/chord solos. I haven't any transcriptions I'm afraid ...It's just a lot of bits of chords in different inversions that fit with the chord progression and are play rhythmically ...I hope that's of some use! - Jez, Yorkshire

  • Wrong guitar ,but certainly a great cover! And a great guitarplayer! 10 stars! Eddie would like it!

  • That's Rock n Rollin...YEAH!

  • Nice playing. Sounds great on a Ric even though Cochran was a Gretsch player.

  • very good!

  • hey man, you need a gretsch!!!! rickenb§a§cker is great for beatles and birds... but rockabilly§§, especially eddie cochran must be pla§yed gretschy°°(-:

  • I seriously think this guy could play great rockabilly on a ukelele. He's awesome!

  • GREAT SONG AND WELL PLAYED FANTASTIC !!! could you let me know the tab for the begin riff

  • great stuff man

  • Great song and you performed it as great as Eddie Cochran:D nice guitar, what brand is it?

  • Wow ...that's praise indeed. Thanks! I'm playing a Rickenbacker 330.

  • Yes yes i saw it's a Rickenbacher, but i didn't know that it's a 330. I want to have a guitar like this one 'cause they have an other sound in between of fender and gibson. Great work keep it on!

  • great sound ! You Rock ! ^-^

  • i'm gonna find out how you played solo part!

    it was so great... ;]

chord solos sounds really nice for to me

  • rock n roll for ever good job man

  • realmente bueno (Y)....great job! bro (Y)

  • cool

  • This one's really one of my favorites! Full marks for your version.

  • Mate I can't stop watching your video's! Awesome rock 'n' roll, great to see this stuff being played so consistently well on youtube, don't stop!

  • Great voice man. Keep up the good job!

  • damn dude...that was great...nice Rick too...is that a 360?

  • Thanks. Glad you liked it. It's a 330.

  • you sound really great!!

  • Nice Rickenbacker. What kind of amp? You don't overdo it on the reverb, which is good. Nice video. One question: Why didn't Ricks ever take off in the rockabilly world? They seem ideally suited to the music and they were located in Santa Ana not far from Fender.

  • That's what I've been wondering about too ! (why the Rickenbacker never caught on among Rockabilly guitarists). Don't know when this Rickenbacker got introduced; maybe it's just a timeline-thing; but then every Rockabilly guitarist with enough money should try one, I guess).

  • Well I think carl perkins used one in the 60's.. but yeah you're right. There not like fender or gibson

  • EXCELLENT !!! You really have that rockabilly sound. I've just watched several of your vids. I will be adding them to my favs ! I've been playing for a year, and always looking for good study. You are really good.

  • very nice you sing well

  • yes liked this one as well

    well played lol

  • You ROCK man 5*!!!

  • Which one's the microphone? Hahaha Just kidding. Man, you really nailed the guitar perfectly, and great singing too. 5 stars.

  • dude you are AWESOME!

  • Man, you are BRILLIANT!!!!! You pay the perfect homage to the greats like Eddie Cochran, Chuck Berry and Buddy Holly.

    WELL DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wow! got some tabs of that one for me?

I really dig the way you play it..especially the solo part!!

  • Thanks very much. I'm afraid I haven't got tabs for this song - I worked out how to play it 'by ear'. I'm pleased you like the solo - I've been trying to divise ways of playing solos in songs like these that sound 'full' on one guitar - a bit like Buddy Holly's 'rhythm-lead' solos I guess.

  • The best solo I've heard is the McCartney "Chaos & Creation" one on YT. They won't let me embed a link so you'll have to search. Brian Setzer does a decent one also on his Gretch.

  • god i love that guitar

  • Thanks very much!

  • Awesome rockabilly.

  • Thanks very much!
