the problem is, facial transitions are unclear, they look like a character is moving his/her focal point; relying on focal points that much limits the amount of freedom you hav with characters; i think that pops are preferable because they make much more definitive switches, and at the national and even (in my area) JV level, you only see pops from winning performances. But that's just my opinion...
