I think: One of the strongest unseen influences in mid-to-late seventies music came from dub music, not so much from the sonic/stylistic/methodic side of things, but more in terms of it informing the listener it's possible to create musical forms that have virtually no precedent. I think the pre-Island Slits exemplify that more than most. There was no precedent for The Slits, nor the architecture + high vivacity count of their music.
