Yea you're speed was alright. Kind of average. And I don't think Sector 9 makes bad boards, I just don't like to have what everyone else does. I just bought a new 2010 Landyachtz Battle Axe. I personally think 'yachtz are where it's at, due to eleven layers of wood for stability at high speeds, and the fact that they're made out of B.C. - I also favor Arbors Koa series. Sector 9 is the Burton of longboarding. I don't mean that in a good way.

If you get excited about longboarders but change your mind because they are riding S9 boards you should probably try roller blading. S9 boards are everywhere. It doesn't matter what people ride as long as they are riding. Also, you gotta start sliding somewhere. Sick speed on the board too! Good vid man. Keep it up! I know a lot about longboards, kiddo. I own Landyachtz, Rayne, Sector 9, and Clutch. I've owned or tried just about every speedboard from most major companies. Sector 9 is no worse than any other brand, particularly their S9 Race (my favorite topmount speedboard).

I'm not in the US, so I can't go to Tactis, and I haven't ordered from them yet. StokedSkateboards, LongboardSkater and SwitchbackLongboards get most of my service.

Clearly you don't have any real experience in the matter.

landyachtz, loaded and rayne are my the best in my oppinion, and the tuck ... hmmm if you watch any downhill longboarding videos you will see then croucched down a little and there body bent forward... and there hands byhind there back, the horrible tuck we would be talking about would be at about 0:41.

I have done 55 on a pintail, its actually quite steady until about 45 then it gets a little squirly. If you want to go 50 plus then buy a landyachtz evo. It's rock stead and well worth the price. Top speed on an evo is 57 mph, that is without one of those skin tight suits and a wedge helmet.

when in the tuck position keep your back foot more towards the end of the board. It will put your center of gravity in the center of the board and keep speed wobbles out for good. Plus you will be able to go lower without gotting the wobbles, which will cause less wind resistance.

i don't dispute that S9 is the most widely bought/mainstream longboard company out there and brand loyalty is nice but if you rode any of the other boards mentioned (Landyachtz, Rayne, Lush) you'd get over S9 real quick.

i've ridden Subsonic and Rayne drop setups and felt like i was gliding on a magic carpet; so bomb a hill w/ a drop-thru setup sometime then get back to us all who've ridden something other than just an S9 and let us know what you think.
