@Taterzz ok maybe the battle system what a ilttle bit more of the same turns stuff of FF games, and the characters in battle they used all the same elements.. but there were like 30 usable characters every one with their special attacks, some of them even combined.
@kubinskij1 that was the problem, it tried to do too much and failed in quite a few areas. the leveling system was taken out and replaced by a "hope you get stats this fight" system. it had a huge cast, which forced the problem of finding the handful that was miles above the rest. also, gearing them up was a huge pain as well. the story was lackluster as well, something about dual worlds with pretty much no time travel.
i just gonna say... its nice to see someone giving Vagrant Story the place it diserves, after all if you wanna see where the origin of final fantasy 12 and 13 not only, characters dising but combat system comes from.. you just have to check out mister Ashley Riot in by far the best action rpg in gaming history.

Well, judging from your age I wouldn't recommend FF7 as your 1st. It's a bit hard to fully grasp and understand when you first play. I'd recommend FF9 or Legend of Dragoon. Leaning more towards Legend of Dragoon, when I first played that 1 as a kid I was blown away. Awesome game.

Does anyone remember a taking turn game on the ps1 which had characters named Piranha and juggernaut in them ? I don't remember much of the game other than it being on a tile like map taking turns and then when you fight you go into a field and then it turns to a real time fighting game sorta

PlayStation is the one system I wish I had during its era. I picked N64, and while Zelda 64 was a blast, there wasn't as many good games on N64 like PS1. Thankfully, PS1 games are way cheap in some stores. I was able to buy Gran Turismo 1, Parasite Eve 1, and Tekken 3 (plus two game steering wheel controllers) all for 18 bucks! (This was at a garage sale)

ok i can live with this list XD as long as GT2, FF7, Metal Gear solid, tekken 3 and many others i agee with but then you forget Megaman X6 was in it, but THPS i think shoulda been switched out with THPS2

The order goes 1Xenogears 2 metal gear solid 3 FF7 4 crono cross 5 castlevania sotn 6 jet moto 2 7 tekken 3 8 resident evil 3 9 FF8 10 busido blade 2 and I thing megaman x4 and megaman legends should be in there somewhere not top 10 but in the list just my opinion but everyone has they game they consider a classic 4 different reasons the PSX was a amazing system so many great games alot of them bring back different memories everytime I see them or play them

I couldn't write a list like this, as soon as I finish I'd thind of another game that has to be in the list for whatever reason, for the most part I agree with your list, but why no resident evil one and I would change the order a bit

@SoldierCyfix EXCLUDING 9!?!?!??! why>? IMO, it was the best in the series 7 was boring and 8 had no story line 9 was all the old nes games with better graphics. some people like ff7 fanboys cant see the greatnes of other ff games i think that is my reason for hating ff7

@theowlsofouterheaven i just personally didn't find it all that good, not in comparison to 8 and 7 at least. sure 7 was boring at certain points because you had to over lvl like hell, and 8 had a weird storyline. its all a matter of opinion 9 was a good game, just not the best of the collection (honor reserved for ff10)
ps: i like how the airship from 9 was incorporated into ff11, too bad 11 turned out to be crap
