This record was voted as the hottest of all time on a radio show about thirty years ago. In second was Abe Lyman's rendition of "Shake That Thing".

certainly one of the most magnificent and exciting recordings ever !!! if he had took the Cotton Club date ? inplace of the far inferior Ellington 'big' band ..nobody plays like this !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
