  • It's official: nothing is too obscure for Youtube!

  • It was the music I remembered and the message that always blew up when they received it, like impossible mission. Must have been about 5 or 6 - UK 1974 to 1975 when I saw this -

  • I loved this, and the Barkleys!

  • Wow - I remember this. Freling and Depatie did a lot of cartoons, like The Pink Panther, the Barkleys (a bizarre cartoon that was kind of like 'All in the Family'), the Anteater, and a few other ones...

  • from the fall 1972 season, it ran only one year. IIRC it was loosely based on "Mission: Impossible!" They'd get pre-recorded instructions that would self-destruct in funny ways.

  • @speeta The destructing-messages thing does sound stolen from M.I., but surely the cartoon is mostly based on a '71-2 prime-time series about two Army officers who use a Stutz Bearcat to defeat bad guys back around 1913. Name escapes me; that show in turn was loosely based on the Rat Patrol.

  • It's actually from 1972. I was in 4th grade. I had a little crush on a boy in school who could draw the Houndcats pretty well!

  • likewise!! I can't believe what i'm seeing! I thought i'd dreamt this!

  • ARGH MY CHILDHOOD!!! i love this show

  • It was actually from 1972, when I was 10 and a half

  • Thanks for posting this, the Musselmutt was my fave. :D

  • At the age of 44 I was begining to think I had imagined seeing this cartoon. When I mention it to people nobody remembers it. Thanks for posting.

  • Thanks for your Comment, I had forgot it all except for the Name seeing it again restored my memory in a flash.

  • OMG, i remember watching this everytime after nursery when i was little, a true cartoon classic x

  • Yes, gone but not forgotten thanks to Youtube!
