I love how everyone is saying the box is too small, jackasses, its clearly not too small, that woofer wouldnt be moving that much if it was that small, because the back pressure would have to force its way out because of all the BL.
that sounds like it MIGHT be a painful sub, im guessing 140 daily??
@gfhnk What do you mean "Whats the SQ cuz it looks sealed, and I like my SQ Sealed" Looks like you don't know how to use "sound quality" in a sentence.
@calvinblinkee Im so, soooo, so sorry i said that wrong, I guess i should never use SQ in a sentance. I meant to say " Hey does that sealed box hit hard, well if it does thats cool. I Prefer a sealed enclosure to achieve my particular Sound Quality prefrences!" lol...
@calvinblinkee your not hearing me DUDE!!! I PREFER A SEALED BOX FOR MY MUSICAL PREFRENCE. SO IF I WANT SOUND QUALITY I USE A SEALED ENCLOSURE FOR MY WOOFERS. DO YOU GET IT. DAM BRO. IT AINT WHATS IN THE NEWS HAHA, ITS WHAT SOUND GOOD TO YOU. AND A FUUCK YOUR COUCH ANYWAY. I would love to have a T2. and it would sound SQ ina sealed box, rather than a box witch happens to have a port. DUDE, your on the wrong bus or something.
@gfhnk okay i take it back, your right, The T2 sounds better at 40Hz tuned port, rather than a 30Hz port (Witch i would prefer if i had it ported). BUT if i got 3 12's ported at 40Hz wired at .25ohms on my 3000w mono amp... Thats for BASS and SPL, if i got 3 12's in sealed box, with each chamber sealed, i Believe it would sound better(smoother , more musical) .... TO ME!!!
@calvinblinkee your a fuckin deatch bag, Just cuz a sub is in a ported box, doesnt make it SQ, What the fuck are you talkin out your ass for, maybe you need to shut the fuck up now. You sound like a retard. You obviously dont know what SQ means. SQ is Sound Quality, not Particluar brand or wattage, OR SEALED VS PORTED, you sound like your 12 years old and youve been reading lots of comments on the AUDIO forums. and WTF else your tryin to talk about. you sound real stupid. I hope your just joking
@gfhnk You can put 3 Fi BTLs in a sealed and separate chamber enclosure, and it will sound like shit. As I said for the what, third time? It also depends on the subwoofer. Yeah I got into car audio since I was 12 but age don't mean shit. You might be 18 but you still talk about peak power in your video. Jesus. I like how you put a port for a huge box for your speakers. must sound amazing and non resonating eh?
@calvinblinkee haha this person know wat they talking bout. peak powers is a load of crap. i'd love to see how many dump arses blow their shit up up matching "peak power"? WRMS thats the numbers u match.
what im saying is if you hook up 1 sub in a box that each handle 1500 watts and you have one 1000 watt amp and a 500 watt amp you cant hook both of them up to the sub because each will be trying to give it one signal and the other giving another and it will cause the amp to blow out
o, damn cuz i got 2 dual brand subs in a dual bandpass box, wired in parallel, and they are 1000 watts, and i have a 200 and a 300 watt amps, i wanted to use both... :(
dual is a sub brand like alpine kicker kenwood, dual is an of market, and cheaper, i like what i have for a box and subs, it has lights, and it kickes, u can get it at some stores most of the time tho you will have to order offline
i recomend if your looking for a good quality sub tho is to go with something more namebrand
well thats up to what u want to spend, off market stuff will be cheaper, but if u get a good set they will be great, the duals i have i bought off craigslist for $5, they hit hard as hell, and i absolutly love them, go with what u can find
dual brand is like... comparable to sony. they are okay, but not anything special! Alpine, JL, Kenwood are all better then Dual. but depending on how you get your stuff installed, dual could sound better then a type x, so pay attention to your installations!
If you are hooking up each amp to a seperate voice coil, but they need to be putting out almost the exact same amount of power. So you would need to use some sort of tool to tune your amps to the exact same level. And when i say almost the exact same, i really mean the EXACT SAME.
well its hard to say if its just the top cone of the type-x or the whole cone piece with the supports underneath....but im gonna say its just the top piece of the cone off the type-x ....he removed the t2 cone off the top of it then glued on the the type-x. pretty simple...but i dont know if he had to shave the cone at all because the t2 cone is alot smaller then the type-x cone
Swapped dustcaps didn't you? Thats a rockford T2 wearing an alpine type X cone. That or thats a really good subwoofer paint job. Or perhaps you found yourself a T2 surround and stuck it on an alpine. Not quite sure. At least it looks better than the ugly titanium look of the T2. Seems like too much excursion for an alpine. Looked like it was fun to do. Even funner to keep us guessing;)
No the T2 has a looser soft-part system than the Type X. If you were to put comparitive power to each, the T2 would probably move further. When I played with a type X I was a little disappointed. The T2 definately has more bottom end. But I think the X might be able to produce higher SPL yields at freq above 40hertz. Both are really good subs.
The T2 was definately designed for the daily ground pounder. Haven't seen a lot of guys running Rockford subs in SPL anymore, I did when they first released the new power series, but not anymore. I haven't looked at their Fs or Bl, but if thrown into boxes tuned to say 28hertz, the T2 would most likely put the X to shame. 143 is quite a number for a single ten, I've been metered several times, but never by a TermLab mic. The numbers I put up always seem too high so I wont brag them. Might be...
...wrong. I live too far away from most legal comps, and no one around here has a TermLab. How does your SPL box sound on music. I did the strict SPL thing a couple times, but its not worth it when theres no comps near by. So I just build for daily groundpounding an see how many things will flex on my car(or break). Ha ha Anyways... Happy Bassin!

I agree about the Type X possibly producing higher spl output above 40hz.
But I think it should be noted the TX will incure power compression before the T2.
I own a T1 10" that I burp at 57hz with. 2000 +/- RMS. Best legal # to date is 143.xx out of a trunk maxima.
I was told I could never do over mid 130's, ha.
IDK, the type R is more Spl worthy. I guess I'm just ranting :D
