  • Lalanne had heart surgery the year before his death, there may have been post infections from surgery that weakened his immune system. I recall hearing Jack had respiratory problems in his later years, not sure why his lungs would be weak, he didn't smoke, maybe from breathing chlorine swimming daily. Pneumonia creates fluid in lungs that weak lungs can't handle. He should have stayed off that operating table if at all possible, he might have made past 100. I really admired him. RIP Jack

  • Working out too much ages you re: Jack Lallane?!? Man I didn't know he was 96 years old?!? That dude looked HELLA good for 96!!! I got a juicer and everything that works great. I got his Pro model. Man I had just found out he passed a couple days ago. Just last week I watched him push a whole potato in the Juicer Pro and I didn't even know my juicer could do that! And he sure as hell didn't look or act or talk like he was 96.

    Phenomenal.

  • Not a lot of people knew he could pick his wife up and hold her in the air only using his dick .

  • we will miss you Jack

thank you for the greate inspiration

  • So sorry to hear about his death. He definitely will be missed.

  • He was a great example of what a healthy lifestyle can do for you, but my great grand father lived until he was 119 years of age and although he was a farmer, he drank wine, smoked home grown cigars (which of course, were 100% natural) every day of his life and didn't excerecise like jack did. I think genetics also have a big part in longevity.

  • @Redskin1040 theres alot of factors, Jack lalanne over worked out I think, the oldest man to ever live in recorded was a Chinese Taoists Monk who was 256 years old when he died

  • @marketwatch101 Man! You wouldn't happen to know what he did to live that long, do you?

  • Jack did workout too much, exercise is good but doing more doesnt add more health to you.

  • @cheemooo thats why he only live to 96 right?

  • Im not sure what your asking but I dont think him having worked out so hard made him any healthier than if he were to just workout enough. He worked out more than enough and the more of the more that enough yeilded no extra health benifits. Exercise is highly destructive it is highly catabolic and produces tremendous amounts free radicals. Even if his diet was high in antioxidents it can overwhelm your syetsm. The body has to reasemble more from hard exercise this ages you faster.

  • @cheemooo Working out too much doesnt cause pneumonia or respiratory failure he had the disease 1 week before his death

  • I dont claim that he got pneumonia from working out too much. I just think he aged fast, which I think was fromt oo much cardio exercise. The oxidation from cardio oxidises the body fast similar to a apple cut open and left sitting around. He was weak and he was weak from age and he was aged alot from too much cardio so pneumonia took over him easy. I think he was a well intentioned person and I am not trying to insult him I admire his good will but it doesnt mean his system was ideal.

  • We were lucky to have seen Jack around Morro Bay from time to time...he always stopped, gave my wife a hug, and me a hand-cracking shake. Always the best of gentleman, and always with his lovely wife, Elaine smiling on.

  • Goodbye to a great inspiration Jack LaLanne he will be missed

  • I will miss you Jack, my dad has a personal letter from you, he idolized you and since i was a kid i have heard of your name so many times from my father and i then became a fan of yours my self. God bless your soul, and i promise as long as i live you will never be forgotten.

  • Jack was and is a great inspiration and teacher to me and millions of others. He walked his talk. He and people like him make this world a better place in which to live and inspire others to do the same.
