  • Thank you Mikey!!! I LOVE your videos :) Now that I am finally pregnant I am making our Princess to be a blanket with this. I <3 you, I love the way you use simple beginners terms! You're the best! Hugs from Chicago, Lydia

  • I tried using a K size hook and my swirls dont look "jumbo" at all. The very next size I can use is a size N hook but the stitches look super loose then. Any suggestions?

  • @fiercenfocused Maybe try using two strands of yarn held together (may need to be larger than an N hook, depends on how tightly you crochet). When I did this, I held three strands of yarn together and used a size Q hook. Using multiple strands of yarn also gives your work a really cool marble effect.

  • Could you start telling us what size hook you us for your projects?

What size did you use for this one?

Just starting out, and learning a lot from you. Thanks

  • @molidaab hello this is chanel from mikeys helpdesk....I am prettty sure mikey is using a K sz hook here! its hard to tell but its either a Jor Ksz and either one will do just fine for this stitch!!! :)

  • nice to see a man doing crocheting i'm learning loads thanks

  • Hey Mikey, if you look at a piece are you able to recreate it or do you follow patterns only? My daughter was given a crocheted jacket and I love it...but she's outgrowing it. I wondered if I sent it to you, you could figure out the pattern...

  • How do you turn this into an afghan? do you stitch the panels together or to do you make a four or five-foot long string?

  • @LensBride you just add sets of 8 chains...until you get the lengh/width you like ...then add two ..... just watch the video up to 1.30 sec and it will explain how to make it larger

Thanks for your comment and happy crochet !

  • I love this video. Although I've been crocheting many years, I like that you don't assume that everyone knows what a triple crochet is, how to make one, or even what it's called. I will definitely be recommending your videos to the people I've been teaching to crochet. They can play them as many times as needed till they "get" what they're trying to learn.

  • @carollizc thanks for your nice comment !
