I will speak for this game's awesomeness. Yes, it lacked a decent story and the characters had little development, but there's a reason they slapped the word Xtreme next to Grandia. It's a culmination of battle system madness. Every time you want to go into a dungeon, you feel this urge to change up how each character is going to perform. These weren't dungeons you could finish in half an hour and the monsters aren't pushovers. That's what made it extreme.
Volt Beast, hard battle, but amazing music it´s like pushing you forward to continue fighting even against the odds! God this game was hard! I die two times before I can´t kill that Beast.

This game was actually challenging.. forcing you to level grind for many of the bosses, but the music was so epic you just didn't care. Really wish i still had my copy. I think my nephew has it somewhere. I need to do a run through of the series.. for some reason, i found Grandia 3 hard to get into though.

you'll hear this 4 to infinite times on grandia xtreme.. first on volt beast, then zenothlee, then battle kroitz, then lv 200 zenothlee, or rechallenge volt beast again hehe =) venom ruins puzzle is quite fast

if u like grandia, id say pick it up, my beef with this game is the one save point,(in town) and very little traveling....well instead of traveling around the world you're sent to explore various Huge dungeons (with no save points :( )

i think you are all missing the point here, Grandia xtreme is not supposed to be about characters or story, its a hardcore version of the grandia series, hence the huge dungeons, tough fights and lack of save points. If you want a nice comfortable kiddy rpg go play kongdom hearts or something.
your right that also why it's called xtreme I enjoyed this game played it non-stop when I had it wasn't as hard as people say to me you just had to be good at combining magic and don't run from battle so you can level up good.

This is quite possibly the greatest RPG battle theme ever composed. Noriyuki Iwadare is an absolutely amazing composer. I know he is my favorite. This theme encompasses every emotion that could be felt in a heated, struggling battle. Truly epic, and truly an everlasting masterpiece.
The music feels so epic. I dragged on the fights with this BGM just to listen to it some more. This and the main battle theme are the best songs of the game. I must say, that the final boss theme wasn't all that hot........
