wow....im telling you, benavidez has developed into a much better boxer than what you see in this vid...a rematch in the pros and I'm telling you benavidez gets the win. Dont get me wrong Gomez is also a stud and a bright prospect but he hasnt progressed much, he's still primarily a slugger/headhunter. Benny's much more technical but has the speed/power to go along with it.
I fought Frankie during this tournament in the quarterfinals tough kid, very aggressive, but I will say that I like how Jose was putting together his combinations
Benavidez has the superior style and skills. He just needs to grow into his man-strength and shed that lankiness. Both are skilled. Benavidez likes to think a bit more. Nobody got beat-up. This is what they do in training everyday, sometimes even against pros.

You can see here how closely matched these two are, Benavidez has more composure, he punches less but they seem more accurate and maybe more powerful too, Gomez has high output and work-rate with some quality shots too, damn but this is gonna be a great fight in the pro's! Hopefully they'll stay around the same weight as their bodies mature. Unfortunately promoters will buildthis fight for a long time, I doubt they'll fight for at least 3-5 years.

@terrible99 na gomez is very amatuerish. i fought amatuer for 3years and trust me ALOT of guys fight like he's fighting now. they teach you to fight like this. its all about points. now jose has the professional style of the 2. frankie could fight like this for 4 rounds but in the pros its 10-12rounds and jose would have plenty of time to get his rythym going. guys with frankies style dont make it in the pros unless they have crisp punches which frankie doesnt.
@terrible99 Its frankies timing benevidez is quicker look how he throws his left and right hand. Benevidez has a longer and wirey frame look how he snaps his jab and straight much quicker than frankie. But when you have timing even the quickest person will look slow and get tagged.

I was noticing that Frankie was backing up more and more as the fight progressed and that is his fight. Although I think this fight was close, in my opinion Benavidez won with the better more clear shots.

@moisesballa i hope they never fight each other cuz i like both fighters and think gomez should fight at lightweight and benavidez at welter.why i think that is cuz of gomez height hes only 5'8 and i think light weight is where its at for him.

@moisesballa Are you kidding me? Knowing Frankie and his background coming from a world amatuer silver medalist and US National champion it probably go the other way. Gomez is just too quick for Benavidez.

@terrible99 na gomez is very amatuerish. i fought amatuer for 3years and trust me ALOT of guys fight like he's fighting now. they teach you to fight like this. its all about points. now jose has the professional style of the 2. frankie could fight like this for 4 rounds but in the pros its 10-12rounds and jose would have plenty of time to get his rythym going. guys with frankies style dont make it in the pros unless they have crisp punches which frankie doesnt.

@terrible99 Its frankies timing benevidez is quicker look how he throws his left and right hand. Benevidez has a longer and wirey frame look how he snaps his jab and straight much quicker than frankie. But when you have timing even the quickest person will look slow and get tagged.

@moisesballa Couldn't agree with you more. Benavidez is clearly the better all around fighter and I think he packs a harder punch. I was noticing that Frankie was backing up more and more as the fight progressed and that is his fight. Although I think this fight was close, in my opinion Benavidez won with the better more clear shots.

good amature fight !! way to go!! but Gomez had benavidez running away the whole first round . dnt get me wrong Benavidez is fast but.. Gomez is not only fast but strong he seems to have a heavy hand that could cause real damage!!......
