The United Nations MUST realize its place. They have forgotten that the reason that council was formed was to PROTECT. I oppose the "invade" idea, but negotiations from ALL sides should be pressured upon them ASAP. While that man was celebrating people were dying! This is criminal delay and denial of himanitarian aid. Burmese state T.V yesterday remined citizens of their "patriotic duty" to vote in middle of all this. The Burmese regime remains focused on the referendum it plans to hold today on a new constitution that will INSTITUTIONALIZE MILITARY RULE. Just think as Burma would become a 24th province for CHINA.

So your suggestion is that they invade Burma? A world power need to respect the policies of each country. They cannot just invade a country every time they feel the need to. No one would trust them anymore. Invasion is the last option. When it came to the Rwanda conflict, however, I agree that they failed. :(

There's only one reason I can think why Myanmar would disallow NGOs and others and that would be CIA infiltrations. I think the CIA through NGOs played a part in the Orange revolution in Ukraine.

all we can actually do, wether with or without military troubles in that nation is send aid and check it gets delivered where it ought. If not some materials are available within the UN infrastructure, i wonder where did to these tents , boats, etc. actually go.

I also bet they are not floating just outside myanmar, that great wish for helping was not yet. Well maybe supplys are so near, it's the farthest one would have them now.
