  • Honda > ford, chevy, dogde

  • looks a little bit of a bad clone from an Avalanche ,thats also underpowered (a 3,4 L V6 ????)

  • @metalux1971 3.5L* its okay for its weight

  • Ridgeline has very outdated engine 2 valves per cylinder, whereas other same weight trucks do have 4 valves per cylinder even though they bigger. They afraid of overheating issues, guess they could install oil cooler too. For this only reason customers see it consumes a lot more fuel than on the same weight ratio group.

  • Id rather have a good ol reliable n fuel efficient tacoma than this weird looking truck!

  • The lack of a 4/low finishes it for me. :(

  • I am a huge Honda fan, but wouldn't own a Ridgeline if you paid me.

The designers were on crack when they designed this vehicle. (I refuse to call it a truck.) Honda tried to please both SUV and trucks owners, but in the end, didn't please many buyers at all.

Honda needs to take off their skirts and make a real truck.

  • I just drove my new 2011 Ridgeline RTS off the lot! So fucking happy . Im 22 btw

  • To re-locate the spare tire in the event of box loading (cant get into the trunk) Honda provides a alternate mount point in the box using the existing spare tire mount hardware.

  • Just bought one, a 2009. It's an SUV with some pickup truck features. I love it!

  • I'll just say that I hate Toyota Tundras and I would get one of those WAAAAAYYY before one of these car trucks

  • Yet for most folks I guess these "foreign " trucks are fine for going to the mall and use of the truck as a car for tooling around

Yet workmen it seems who have real work and hauling to do still seem to prefer good old fashioned Fords, GMs and Chevs

Good informative and comprehensive review thank you

  • @seovideo24

you are right. it's not a pick-up truck but an SUT. it's built for off-roading rather than hauling really heavy stuffs

  • the 2005-present Honda Ridgeline is assembled in

    Alliston, Ontario, Canada

    Lincoln, Alabama, United States

  • Range Rover should make something like this.

  • It's a 4 door import El Camino

  • There's a mounting point on the side of the bed for a spare tire if you are really worried about getting a flat with a loaded bed. You could even pickup at least on seat inside and keep the spare there when loaded up.

  • I love my ridgeline, but i just wish there was a longer bed length, and 4WD wasnt standard so it could be a lot cheaper.

  • Looks like an Truck shaped SUV.

  • Honda!

You should bring the CBR 150R And 125R models to america! They are both great starter bikes, and they are both considered mopeds here. Which means 15 and 16 year olds can ride a real sport bike that has real sport bike power, gears, and rpm, instead of some ugly CVT mopeds.

  • i love my ridgeline, people love to hate on it just because it's a honda. it's an excellent truck, i get 20+mpg around town it all depends how your driving it...

  • @GSRGOPEDRIDER247 i agree it looks great!. However the fuel economy would die where i live. you are always pulling a hill @o@.

  • @GSRGOPEDRIDER247 my sierra gets 20+mpg with the 4.8 and its twice the truck

  • @josemex576 if its under four foot long.

  • Can you fit a motorcross on the back

  • @josemex576 i can fit my 420 rancher atv in the back with no problems

  • @josemex576 a Motocross?. Never heard it called that before?

  • i have no problem with it, but it seems like Honda ripped off the Avalanche somewhat, also Honda has clearly stated that this truck is aimed at buyers who are looking at full size trucks (like when the T100 was around) but they need to have different model options like 2 door models maybe? and not be forced to buy one version.

  • Would be my choise for city pick up truck and a family car...

  • They act like this is like the newest craziest thing...i'll stick to my avalanche.

  • if they didnt say it was a truck, it would be cooler. Because it definitely doesnt preform like a truck. just my $0.02

  • This is a great truck or SUT. When in comes to my cars i'm not very nice to them and push the limits all the time. From trying to keep up with sport cars on the twisty mountain roads in Colorado to following friends Toyota's on 4X4 trails. I've put 150K on this truck with ZERO issues. Only basic maintenance. The only thing I wish it had was a 4 low.

  • It feels like a car!

  • i own a 2007 Honda Ridgeline & love it. I have always owned Chevy full size pickups. Last year I made the switch & I can guarantee that the next vehicle I own will also be a Ridgeline. Very innovative, exceptional storage & use of space, corners like it's on rails & it has a host of safety features. If you are a weekend home improvement type of guy or just likes to drive a truck, I highly recommend this one!

  • @junkit2004 Too bad they're going to stop making Ridgelines in 2012 :( but at least theres the certified used market...

  • @beatlespersun Where do you get your information from? I work for Honda and I havent heard that yet.... I guess you know more than I do. LOL! Get your info correct before you post next time. There WILL be a 2012 RL next year. Not available for purchase til approx Jan 12 though.

  • i looked at the big they where more truck than i need plus the ridgeline ride so sweet on my back and every truck or car you bye gonna give you problem soooner or later but i get about 290 a tank around town and highway 420 thats with k&n intake and i have 66000 miles no troubles so i guess i bought a good one and honda support has been hands down awesome

  • "Extremely easy to live with." True, except when time to fill up the tank. I owned a Ridgeline for a short period and liked many things about it. Except it's V8-esque mileage. I averaged about 13-15 MPG CITY driving ONLY, and only got 16 when commuting to work.

  • I have a 2007 the engine went bad at 54.000

Miles the guaranty for the engine is 5 years

Or 60.000 miles . The dealer is fixing it now

But I Los faith on this truck .

I wonder what went wrong .

  • @eddysrun Wow really cuz Hondas engine don't usually have these problems they'll get to 200,000 miles or more if you take care of it.

  • I have this and love it. Smoothest and most stable ride I've ever had. Best back seat room of any truck and even better than most cars. One problem is the colour. This one (like mine) is called "cherry red". However, it only looks "metallic red" when totally cleaned and sitting in bright light or sunshine. Most of time it actually looks like a dull purple. City truck or not, who would buy a "purple" truck?

  • This will most definitely be my next purchase. Compact truck is what I like. Perfect for a petite-sized woman like myself ;-) A truck is a truck, works all the same. I always wanted a truck without a long bed, so this is perfect for me !

  • I would love to buy one. It is indeed civilized truck for people with active life style and not big family.

  • The Chevrolet Avalanche is better.

  • no breaks at highway speeds

  • the sad thing is, honda makes engines for gm, so gm gets to copy a lot of honda's designs. the acura slx was like 6 different gm's, and same wiht the 1st gen odyssey, and this- teh chevy avalanche and cadillac escalade truck

  • @saboobuu Honda made ONE engine for GM and that was the 3.5L V6 that was in the first generation Saturn Vue. The Avalanche has GM's own 5.3L V8 and the Escalade EXT has GM's 6.2L V8. Haven't you realized Honda doesn't make V8 engines for their self, let alone for another manufacturer whose V8s are regarded as some of the best in the industry. (excluding exotics of course.)

  • @saboobuu The Avalanche debuted 5 years before the Ridgeline so if anything Honda copies GM designs. But Honda is a known design copier, just look at the 2011 Accord with the 2003 era 7-series taillights, and the Acura ZDX a poor rip off of the BMW X6. And anyways Hondas were, are, and always will be ugly.

  • @MrRams27 you win the dipshit of the day award!

  • @osue69 Having owned a 76 F-150 and a 97 RAM 1500 4X4.........We all really need to rethink what it is to be a truck and move out of the middle ages. Recall seeing the bed/box gap in most trucks quiver & move around..thats the frame flexing..not good. The one major downfall of the Honda design is a lack of manual gearbox w/ granny gear. Adding all that "Traction control" Stability control, etc...makes it a less serious "truck".If Honda did make a manual then all bets are off.

  • It's amazing how uniformed many of you are. Don't ever let facts enter into your opinions. Anyone who drives one is impressed. Honda remains #1 in owner loyalty and satisfaction across all models. They designed it to be different so it hauls like any midsize truck...but handles like a sedan. It's not designed to be an F150. It Tows 5k, is amazing in the snow and mud yet handles like a sedan. Ride quality is unmatched by any other truck. It is fun to drive. Large Pickups just are not. Checkmate.

  • My 1980s 4x4 S10 got better gas mileage with a bigger motor and better towing capacity...... honda has a nicer cab but for the money id get a station wagon like a volvo.. more comfort and about the same ability for lumber or bike hauling. Not to mention - even a prius can tow a utility trailer to go to 84 lumber or Lows.

  • what a sexy truck.....

    i would buy one.....

  • It's clearly not a truck aimed at the farm-boy, serious payload, Toby Keith section of the market. It's aimed at the man who goes to the home depot every do often and on the occasional road trip. Give it credit for what it is instead of knocking it for what it isn't

  • @nyynyj Well said. I'm planning to get a Ridgeline as my next vehicle. I'm looking for something I can toss my ikea stuff/snowboard/paintball/beach/camp,etc. gear in without worrying about getting my car dirty. Also I would like to be able to seat five and still keep stuff locked in a trunk and not have someone wait with the car to make sure the groceries or whatnot don't get stolen. I also like the Avalanche/Escalade trucks since they have small side lockable compartments.

  • @nyynyj I applaud you for being the smart sensible person here. You hit the nail right on the head for what the Ridgeline really is. The sad thing is, all the ford, dodge, and chevy owners will always bash this because its not what they think a truck is so it shouldnt be labeled as a truck. This is more of a truck than the stupid Escalade and Hummer when it was made.

  • @nyynyj I would get one just because I don't do haavy offroading or hauling, If i need to tow a trailer i borrow my brothers truck. However, i often haul tools too and from work, having all of the compartments for them is awesome!. It's more of a.... Utillity truck. I love trucks, but i love this vehicle for its usability.

  • @nyynyj no its for a scrwny old women to get groceries... this is why i drive a powerstroke.. no point in having a pick up truck if you can't haul 10,000+ pounds

  • ugly

  • @etoyotarockshsucks your a troll too. u trolled intechdude300 and krazyk86cu. stop being biased and unblock me

  • Just another city slicker truck. Funny thing is, most trucks that are made for work end up being daily driven sedans. Sad world.

  • Till Honda makes a real pickup , I'll stick with Chevy .

  • @frank55656 you want a real poser ?

look up a dodge rampage., its fwd , basicaly a dodge aries ,or plymouth sundance

    with a bed

  • get a subaru baja

  • This is not a pickup truck. If it can't carry alot then whats the point of owning one? Trucks are ment to carry large loads of rocks, firewood, or anything u can find at Lowes. I'll take a ford, chevy, dodge, or even toyota over this thing any day.

  • just buy a acord

  • a "truck" with no low range

  • and that is why honda cancelled it

  • @bajabusta not yet

  • That is one nasty looking truck.

  • The interior looks dated...like from 1998...it's ashame cuz this is a great truck, except for the gas mileage and interior...

  • @rennagata92

    NO NO NO

    Cars should do EVERYTHING well!

  • I wonder if they will discontinue this, I understand it doesn't sell well

  • @rennagata92 because something like the sport track does ride quite nice!

  • is the chevy avalanche and escalade ext a unibody aswell?

  • @jason01020 Yes they are.

  • @jason01020

No they are not- they are trucks.

  • @jason01020 yes

  • @jason01020 hell no

    it better not

  • @frank55656 nope... its a truck for civilized city people.

  • @racewithferrari Yeah, its just a city boy's pickup. It's an interesting design but isn't made for serious work.

  • it needs a good redesign

  • @TJC450

HO ya! The 2nd gen Pilot is way better than the first. I expect the same from the 2nd gen Ridgeline.
