A lie??? How do you explain that this will be the coldest winter in 60 years? Unfortunately there is nothing we can do about it. My feeling is that we would be more successful trying to slow down the earths rotation than to try to warm or cool the planet. We are not in charge here.
We are doing despicable things to the Earth. No doubt. But the Earth has been on a warming trend for about 40,000 years now. The Inuit have known for centuries that you don't make your hunting camp on an ice sheet. They have a tendancy to break free! I'm not sure what I do and don't buy from the "experts."

They have come forward and admitted that the data was forged to make a point. ask the east coast how that global warming is affecting them. Yes we have to try not to pollute our mother earth and take better care of her, but there are natural climate changes that occur. What the heck were dinosaurs doing in south dakota? My freshman daughter had to write a paper on this very topic. She was stuck so I coaxed her along in this very direction. I don't know what I -er- she got on the paper yet though. Probably an F... I'll let you know. The research I -er- she did verifies at least 7 ice ages previous to man's exisitance caused by what? Natural Global Warming... Thanks for letting me come out of the closet on this one Dan! (oh and I stuff my own generic brand cigarettes because I can't afford all the taxes)
@jay and Dan, that is true the earth has experienced natural climate change before. But we weren't pumping tons and tons of CO2, methane, CFC's into the atmosphere at those times or clearcutting trees as we do today. Also, we don't believe that the change occured as quickly as what the early indicators suggest at this time. We know what happens when we pump CO2 into the atmosphere, it heats up. If there is also natural warming occurring that is just all the more reason to reduce what we can.

cont: the republican health care plan of tort reform and interstate competion is a good idea too. That coupled along with the democrat plan of a public option would go along way of solving the health care issue.

I confess that I smoke about 8 or 10 cigarettes per day, but outside of the house to preserve the health of my cats.
In France, there is no smoking in all enclosed spaces ... many cars pollute their exhaust, it is too hot, we use too much electricity, water could reduce waste and sort for recycling more ...

How about the areas of the planet that are now deserts where once forests stood. A lot of wealthy people stand to get even wealthier if we buy into this "idea." In 1970 Randy California wrote Natures Way so I went out and bought a Parka and I waited but I must have slept through Global Cooling. So this time I changed my approach. I went out and bought energy efficient light bulbs with mercury in them and a pair of shorts. I'm still waiting
