I guess miso soup is miso soup, if you call it that.
Miso paste is used here, so I guess you could call it that. I've seen other recipes. Many call for tofu. Some use green onions or shallots and many use fish base (or bullion with loads of MSG). I guess if someone said "chicken soup" some specific recipe comes to everyone's mind, but since all expressions of miso soup must include "miso paste" .... there you have it. It is miso soup.
nope. nobody owns the rights to "miso soup." even in traditional japanese cooking, there are different ways to make miso soup. any soup with a miso base can be called a kind of miso soup. end of discussion.
Round eyes bickering of miso soup. I smile deeply.

Why? why do people like you insist on spreading "disinformation"? This resembles miso soup, like a bullfrog resembles a checkbook....

it's not "disinformation," ineruditis, the woman said it's "a kind of miso soup".. it is.. because it has freaking miso as its base.

@Zatoichi444 i share your disappointment. see my site for some recipes you may or may not be familiar with. Start with Dried Anchovie Dashi.

Miso soup doesn't use all of those vegetables. It only uses tofu, seaweed, fish flakes, miso paste, green onions, and eggs.

you can put anything you want in "miso soup," dumbass.. as long as it has miso as bas, it is miso soup.
