If you live freedom, vote Libertarian, or at least find one of the few Republicans or Democrats who believes in the freedom of the individual. I'm surprised that Kentucky has not been brought before the World Trade Organization for maliciously punishing legally-operated foreign corporations.
this is bullshit cause we got the right to do what ever we want with out mone .... uless its steeling or drug deeling .. we can do whatt ever we want with our money... the government is taking a right that we have wich is persuit of happyness
fuck ur still gonna do what ur gonna do haha are they going to ban the internet and everyones rites they are just pissed cuz they are not taking all the peoples money for themeselves atleast poker takes a little skill and time not just a push of a button
That has to be one of the most absurd statements that I have ever heard. Online gambling sites do not target Kentucky citizens in particular. Online gambling sites target everyone, however it is your decision to play. It is an expression of our freedom to play online.
hes just mad because he couldnt legalize gambling,I enjoyed gaming until mr. dudley do right is started turning ky into a communist state, nice going governor, maybe they'll try to take away all our freedoms, communist facist
I love shaddy comparison in the end :) really shaddy! I dont you then just do what you should be doing which is to release the maximum amount of free money available from this poker companies? Just check out my blog or search on the internet for tuktuk poker model! That would be shaddy :)
In the western countries its a big source of tax earning and the gamblers are now turning their move towards the east where due to lack of education and literacy its easy to fool a poor man and get funds released on the name of awards.USA and its allies who for want of funds for destruction of peace on globe encourage the internet gamblers to commit this blunder. As USA is already destroyed as regards its economy and it can be an indirect source of earning money for this purpose.
Ease up on Kentucky. The same type of people run our government and all governments around the world. They don't always do what we like.
Gambling online is no substitute for actually going to a casino or track. The atmosphere is what makes it fun, because in any type of gambling you're likely to leave with less than what you came in with.
It's not right to try and persecute these sites, no matter how crappy they may be. But don't blame the whole state. (Just the southern/eastern part.)
I got two words for anyone wants to censor the internet. PROXY SERVER.
There's always a way around your stupidity. The internet is bigger than any law or restriction you want to slap on it. I used to live in Kentucky, and I'm glad those people don't represent me anymore.
"I do totally agree with you, my point is the request that such laws be made on the taxpayers dollar is ludicrous. "
What taxpayer money? Why do you think it costs money to NOT censor the Internet? Didn't you notice Americans for Tax Reform was at the panel, and that it was hosted by the Bluegrass Institute? Surely you recognize them as leading anti-tax groups, don't you?
Huh? We should have unjust laws just to keep from spending money to change them? I'll be sure to get Americans for Tax Reform to go ahead and stop, then.
I assure you it's more expensive to censor the Internet than it is to have lawmakers do their job.
Besides that, Kentucky has no authority under the Constitution to regulate interstate commerce. And, it's not at all clear that poker is not lawful. PPA filed an amicus brief detailing its belief that poker (online or any other) is not "gambling" as defined under Kentucky law.
So, there's really no need for a new law. All we need is for Beshear to stop is witch hunt.
I don't really like gambling... but I sure as hell wont support taking away competition in gambling... (which is what this is) and I wont support the taking away of people's rights online. Kentucky has no right to stop websites running from outside their state, nor do they have the right, over their free citizens, to stop them from doing whatever they want online.
30 secs onwards, just shows your where the interests ly, fuckin self interests! and alot of mention about religion too. You your people gamble online let them
I've hated Beshear ever since he claimed he would give colleges more funds and thens tripped UK of millions of funds in a budget cut. He's is an imbecile for thinking he can interfere with net neutrality. The Federal Government is having troubles with that, how the hell does he think his state government can? I am a student at UK and I use Full Tilt Poker, albeit the free games, and he's going to try and take that leisure from me? I call BULLSHIT!

Just in the paper they're still at this here in Kentucky. If KY wants gaming revenue, they should check out what PAGCOR has planned on Manila Bay.

No one is forcing people to play. It's a basic freedom issue. We don't need a nanny state.

Gambing websites are "preying" on people? Are the websites actively seeking people out?

Of course we COULD do that, but we really should stand up for our rights. The statism has to stop somewhere.

I do totally agree with you, my point is the request that such laws be made on the taxpayers dollar is ludicrous.

Who's requesting tax dollars? Kentucky can just leave the Internet alone. Cost - $0. Enforcing a "ban" costs far more.

The Internet (user freedom) is hurting the government?
Enough said, they don't want us to have freedom when it's bad for them.
Time to get a new government there people.
