people that dont suppor protest are fuc++ng cowards. hiding themselves behind an "I support the system" BS. at the same time they get stabbed in the back by their loved bankers, retailers, health insurance companies... when they are really afraid of the police.
@charlesfrith's Of course I am for the right for someone to protest, In fact I think it is more needed now then anytime in my life. Not sure how you thought I meant otherwise. WE must unite and demand that our rights to peacefully assemble are no longer ignored. :)
I spent some time tonight learning about your movement- I have to say your generation is brave, intelligent and unbelievably right.
I sincerely hope that you achieve these changes.Watching the u streams and the vids here, I could not believe how amazing all of you are. Non violent, intelligent and devoted to social justice. I cried when I realized that this country really does have some hope after all.
@sabrina6870 You're kidding right? The U.N. condemned us and you think that is new, or that it matters? The U.N. condemns us all the time. The U.N. condemns a lot of countries a lot of the time. Their condemnation is the equivalent of the the local crackpot that stands on his porch and yells at passing kids for walking too close to his lawn. Their most famous case of condemnation is when they condemned Egypt for invading Israel as U.N. troops watched the tanks roll by and did nothing.

@lamontmerrick Tell you what, you all cut your hair, shave, take a shower and put on a suit. Then go out and talk to some people, not just the unwashed masses, some real people. You will find that most people have assumed that you have all go home, as they are bored with your little temper tantrum. I understand the skew in your perception. If you only talk to like-minded people, you assume everyone thinks like you do. Go to an NRA meeting and everyone must be a gun nut, a gay pride rally, . . .
Looks like a green stock to me. Less than lethal. Suck it up and take it. Secondly, just because you yell "take your finger off the trigger" doesnt mean its on the ACTUALLY on the trigger. Way to falsify your video to make it seem like a big deal.
@NRadd100 They have accomplished these things at least: Shut down of the Oakland Port once thusly and removal of 75 Billion dollars worth of bank funds from the Corporate Banks. The number is only 7.5 Billion, but because the banks are (dangerously if you understand math and economics) allowed to loan ten dollars for every 1 they hold, we've technically removed 75 Billion dollars from circulating in Corporate America's systems. =) There are many other smaller accomplishments as well!
Being passive aggressive is not peaceful, it's aggressive just in a pussy way. Breaking the law and screaming like wild men that you're peaceful is a stupid farce, and no one is falling for it. The only people that think you are doing anything are the other left wing nutbags that already agree with you. This whole "occupy" movement has only accomplished getting the police more overtime pay and ruining some beautiful parks. I'm not sure who said it first, but this is just a "civic temper tantrum"
@NRadd100 Scares you, doesn't it? To see how big this movement is and how it is growing and growing, and spreading across the world. The goons in uniform pointing their weapons at US Citizens have attracted the attention of the UN now. @pnoozi because there are no videos of protesters antagonizing police. None of them ever scream in a cops face, spit on the, flick lit cigarettes at them, splash liquid in their eyes, slash at them with broken glass, throw garbage at them.... I've never seen protesters do that.
Also never seen a video that starts with the cops retaliation. What was happening around that camera man to make the officer put some light on him?
Even if there was some need to use physical suppression to arrest peaceful protestors, there is no doubt there are non-lethal weapons that could be used in the stead of firearms.
As a number of videos of tennaged girls demonstrates, that works just as well on a non-violent innocent citizen.
RE:Media blackout. Clearly this occured. Who gave the order is not clear. Nor is it illegal per se. Just a sign and symptom of a broken system.
I would also like to point out LAPD Code 573. USE OF NON ‑ LETHAL CONTROL DEVICES "Approved non‑lethal control devices may be used to control a violent or potentially violent suspect when lethal force does not appear to be justifiable and/or necessary; and attempts to subdue the suspect by other conventional tactics have been ineffective" Sorry that one LAPD officer was completely out of line and against LAPD own policies
@UnspokenIssues "potentially violent" My point exactly, he did nothing wrong. Just because you do not think someone may be potentially violent does not mean the officer does. It is his call not someone not in his shoes. The bottom line is he DID NOT USE IT! SO once again the LAPD Code you point to has nothing to do with this situation. SO your still batting 0 when it comes to pointing to a law or a LAPD rules violation.
@NYPDRETCOP No dear I showed you two LAPD codes both which the officer disregarded, First it was a weapon, second there was no fear by any LAPD that violence was going to occur, no less a reporter. Stop with the mis information and twists. YOU asked me to give you the "law" as you said that LAPD arent to aim weapons I gave you the LAPD code. YOU were wrong & all can see so. Its a sad day when people think oppression & police disobeying the law is ok. Plus you are no cop, or you wouldve know
@NYPDRETCOP Give it up, he violated the code. We live in a police state and this movement has exposed that. And that's a good thing now the people know that the police whose salaries they pay, are not working for them. Time to stop paying for services we are not getting. We the people need a police department that works for us, and I think now that will definitely be on the list of things that need reform.
@NYPDRETCOP Pointing guns at the press??? America, land of the free!! Wow, our police departments are out of control. No wonder the UN is now condemning police brutality in the US against peaceful protesters and the press.
@NYPDRETCOP you said its ok for LAPD to point a weapon I refer you to LAPD 556.80 DRAWING OR EXHIBITING FIREARMS. In part it says and I quote "Officers shall not draw or exhibit a firearm unless the circumstances surrounding the incident create a reasonable belief that it may be necessary to use the firearm in conformance with this policy on the use of firearms." Like I said get educated because the People are.
@UnspokenIssues Sorry the regulation you pointed to was for the USE of said devices., you are wrong gain no matter how you try and twist the facts. Non lethal devices are different than firearms. 556.80 refers to firearms, 573 refers to the USE of non lethal devices, so 556.80 does not apply. Nice try though. I guess you should educate yourself before trying to educate others.
US Constitution Amendment 1: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
I don't give a flying fuck if his finger was actually on the trigger or not. If I point a rifle at you, I am THREATENING YOUR LIFE. Any stupid asshole who defends this crap has no right to complain if they or anyone they love gets shot, under any circumstances.
Hell, when I was 5 years old I learned that you NEVER point a gun at anything unless you plan to shoot it. That idiot should not be allowed to carry a gun.
The Tea Partiers PAID the fees to the various cities for their demonstrations, obeyed the law and then went home to sleep so they could go to work the next day.
What kills me is all you moron liberals who think the tea partiers are so bad and these worthless bottom feeders breaking the law are so great. They didn't get or pay for the permits to do what they did, they tore the hell out of the parks, they broke the laws, they committed MANY crimes.
@XMansv this shows that the TEA PARTY was nothing but puppets of the government and corporations. "then go to work the next day"- If so then why were they there the next day? The original Tea Party did not get permits. Your whole comment shows that you support the collusion of SEC and Banks, gov and corps. Occupy ppl have shown that they are willing, just like the original Fathers to be arrested and not follow permit laws. Sleep in the cold etc. The TP movement has been exposed as a fraud.
@INRIsee Obviously pea brain when I said the next day I meant when the whole thing was over. Try to find a retard to help you understand things. The original tea party was an act of sabotage - did you think they would get a sabotage permit? You are a moron and you twist facts like the typical liberal fucktard then you jump to erroneous conclusions per liberal fucktard non-logic.
Liberals are not frauds as they are sincere unfortunately they are morons like you so their direction is moronic.
There was a media blackout here in LA, during the raid. The only way you could watch it as it happened was on Ustream and other social media sites. Just like the clips we see when other countries go thru something like this.
@1Makyo Stations here in LA County stopped covering the event shortly before the police moved in, then resumed coverage at their regular 4:30am start. At that point the police were removing the last 2 people. ABC7 said they were to have people embed. with the police when it goes down, but they did not nor did any other station aside from social media outlets and protestors themselves, shoot live feeds as it happened. You'd know that if you lived in LA, or had something original to say.
@HISTORYBUFFPA You implied a government imposed blackout, which is, by definition, what a blackout is. "noncommunication, secrecy, censorship, suppression, radio silence a media blackout"
I live in San Diego and know LA better than I like to admit. There was no government mandated blackout.
@1Makyo Yeah, actually that's your opinion that I implied it. Nice try though. The fact is there was NO live mass media tv coverage of the police raid. That's a fact plain and simple. Social media was the only live broadcast. You can try to argue that, but you can't. You can respond again, I won't read it. Your silly ass can talk to yourself. Have fun, sweetie! ;)
Sounds like Seth Rogan. Stfu. Did he shoot it at you? He's obviously using the light to see what you stupid ass is holding. Go occupy a fucken job and stfu!!! This protest just like the rest won't do shit.
@takebackkean any protest demonstrating aggression will be squashed, the occupation is out number, unarmed, some of the cops love hitting people with those clubs, other officers have to know, they're facing the wrong way-they know their engaged in action diametrically opposed with their sworn duty. They know they're doing this because a chief gave an order, who took direction from a politician, they know the people they are posed to assault, given the command, are the people & public interest.
@shadowlesswalls@AnonymousGreen1 its illegal because you dont have permits or the permits expired. get permits, PAY for said permits and then it will not be illegal. If the tea party can do that, why cant you?? Not illegal to protest @ the parks, but it is to camp there. if you want to camp go to a camping spot!!
Here's a thought...stop protesting ILLEGALLY, go home, take a nap & stop antagonizing officers then you won't have to worry about an officer aiming his FLASHLIGHT at you!!!!
@eagleeyez128 You may want to review your constitution. It is not illegal and they just make up laws as they go. Otherwise the first day they would have been put out from the public property. Besides lets say you was right. The worst a cop should do is arrest you not threaten you by aiming at you. Plus u know how forceful the police been against occupy movement. If you review how much force a police is allowed you would see it's wrong what they do when they shoot at peaceful protesters.
to the trolls: is it ok for english guards to track you with their SA80s when you walk past on holiday then? if you answer "no not really" then spare us the trolling.
@bozolazic Many cops got their jobs by way of going to war and actually being in war zones before they rejoined civilian life. Experienced and trained to meet force with force. I respect the cops in my city and support them when I can. I would not make a good cop myself, no way I would restrain myself from being spit upon, shouted at in my face for hours on end and having to actually touch these foul smelling public vermin. I would get fired on my first day for knocking the teeth out of someone
fack the fucks and the aclu sucks ass they never help seriously wisen up !!! fackkkkkk this cops defending something thats not eventheirs !!! something thats supposedtly the 1% rich bastards of the world they live !!! just like the movie
@TerranImmortal if our founding fathers had listened to dispersal orders you wouldn't be in the position to talk down people fighting for your rights now. Just remember that when you are being a hater against people fighting for YOU.
His finger is clearly NOT on the trigger but further back on the stalk of the gun. And as someone else pointed out these are loaded with RUBBER bullets which are considered "less leathal". Try to remember that the Rodney King protest started "peacefully" as well. These officers are there to PREVENT violence. "A person is smart. People are dumb dangerous animals". You never know how this will turn and likely at a moments notice.
it won't be long until battle hardened combat troops begin policing the streets, and soldiers will be far more dangerous than cops. Martial law is coming very soon; reports have leaked from bases that soldiers are being prepped for dealing with "civil unrest" situations that could threaten the "stability" of the US.
Heard of the New National Defense Authorization Act? Obama can already legally assassinate citizens, soon he can legally imprison anyone without charges, no access to legal help...
@TerranImmortal They aren't there for us. The cops stopped being there for us 30 years ago. Who are you going to cry to when the cops are stabbing and robbing people? Because that's where our world is headed if we allow the cops to do whatever they want all the time. It's a fantasy you have that cops are so morally superior lol!
@raincheck01 Clearly an American answering, the police are always there to "Serve and Protect."
The police are acting in the way that they are because Occupiers were given more than enough fair warning to leave, but they chose not to, which is in fact breaking the law, there for the police are there for the law abiding citizens. By the Occupiers not leaving, the police are in full right to serve and protect every law abiding citizens, making the occupiers all guilty or civil disobedience.
@TerranImmortal You're so delusional. The cops are "always" there to serve and protect? Oh yeah? Tell that to all the women who have been victims of rapist cops. Tell that to the family of Oscar Grant. Tell that to the people in communities served by cops who ran massive drug selling rings. The cops aren't there to serve and protect you. They are there to protect corporate interests & serve their own need to control & hurt other people.
@TerranImmortal The police have no obligation of any kind to protect or serve individuals. Court decision after court decision has established that. Look it up yourself. The police are not there to protect or serve you or your family. It's the law.
@raincheck01 PART OF YOUR BRAIN is missing. Of course the law enforcement proceedings result in protecting the health and safety of the people within their jurisdiction. Quit taking drugs.
Rubber bullets, and beanbag rounds are NOT non-lethal. They are LESS LETHAL. I've fired both rubber bullets, and bean bag rounds at targets at the range, and the damage done at 25 yards means that if the officer in this video fired, the uploader would most likely not be alive today. If I were that officer's partner, I'd take his gun from him.
@johnthompsonparker dont worry sir we are militarized and you are a worthless pos and you lost all your rights in congress today when they voted in making you all terriorists
lol look at this wuss freaking out. Relax little fella. It's a gun with rubber bullets and he was very likely just using his flashlight. The way you spoke to a fellow human being as though you were some sort of high and mighty commander, however, is pretty laughable. I support the Occupy movement, but people like you are just looking for any reason to villainize the cops. "Don't worry about it," indeed. Man up. Losing your shit over rubber bullets. Come on now.
@docventure you must have forgotten Scott Olsen, who was shot in the head and nearly died. Thecop did that on purpose because he heard his name called out by OakFoSho, and wanted to menace him. Fuck That Pig. Kudos to you for properly calling out the cops when they break procedure, oak.
So having a flashlight attached to a gun (rubber bullet / bean bag / live ammo/whatever) and pointing at it someone to be able to see clearly is perfectly fine? Yeah I'd like to see how fast the cops would be gunning someone down if someone tried that crap with them.
@sionus9 I meant in the context of peaceful protests. In lieu of violence, there's no reason for police to show up other than to antagonize the protesters. That's what they're doing here, and at almost every other peaceful site. It's a waste of city resources and totally unnecessary.
Obviously there are other reasons for police officers to show up in places.
@NYPDRETCOP looks like he was intentionally fucking with the cameraman to me. in the hours of livestreamed video of this event, no other officer uses the light on his projectile gun to illuminate anything, and as a cop, you should know that pointing that at the face of a citizen is highly illegal. Quit protecting those who break the law just because they are in a uniform.
@OccupyOakland Sorry but Cops point guns at people all the time for their safety, it is not illegal for them to do so, do not make up false laws to promote your commie nonsense. Occupy a desk!
@NYPDRETCOP So all of a sudden its just cool if a cop points their gun at any person as long as they say its for the cop's safety? They are they to protect us, not shove a gun in our face.
@NYPDRETCOP If you bothered to notice the cops was 1st pointing gun at an protester and then pointed it at reporter, also there was a media black out by LAPD, educate yourself, know this is NOT allowed legally at all Thank you
@UnspokenIssues OK point me to this so called "law" that says a cop can not point a weapon at someone unless he shoots them? It just does not exist! So stop making crap up to help your agenda.
@NYPDRETCOP I have hope you find it goodness I looked at your youtube, I think you truly love violence don't you. Anyhow I have posted the code, remember you are to love your fellow humans
Safety violator. "Sir! This recruit's second weapons safety rule is: Never point a weapon at anything you do not intend to shoot!"
I remember that shit. DI busted me across the forehead with my own weapon for ACCIDENTALLY flagging him with an unloaded weapon while he was walking behind me and as I was moving from the standing into the sitting position. And I deserved it. Weapons aren't toys and a SureFire doesn't somehow make it okay to flag someone with what's likely a LOADED weapon.
@letssetfiretotears What would your DI have done if you started chanting "THE PEOPLE, UNITED, WILL NEVER BE DEFEATED?" He would have stuffed your piece right up your butt, right? Just before he stuffed YOU up your own butt.
@medusa442 "It's a flashlight, sir. Don't worry about it." Yes, a flashlight attached to a loaded rubber bullet gun pointed directly at my face from feet away, while my finger is on the trigger.
Rubber bullets actually. Sure they are not .50 cal bullets but does that make it okay to foolishly aim a gun with their finger on the trigger at random peaceful protestors?
@lnternetperson AND rubber bullets CAN kill and maim. They are also NOT supposed to be shot at point plank range. Also, no weapon, guns or pepper spray, should be used for anything other than a substitute for deadly force. That it, some incident you would use deadly force for. That cop should lose his job quickly.
If you were a civil officer appointed to preserve law and order, then it's fine with me. If you are not, you have zero right to point any weapon at anyone randomly in the streets. That's a good way to wind up in a coffin .... You don't seem very street-wise to me, StrEEtwYZe !!!
people that dont suppor protest are fuc++ng cowards. hiding themselves behind an "I support the system" BS. at the same time they get stabbed in the back by their loved bankers, retailers, health insurance companies... when they are really afraid of the police.

Isn't that a 12-Gauge M870? Lacks training. Review the Field Manual produced by and signed by Armed Forces in 2003 re: non-lethal rubber projectiles:
Fatal injuries are possible at employment distances of less than 5 yards.
• At distances of 20 feet (6 m) to 40 feet (12 m), target area should be center mass
• This round is most effective against area targets with a maximum effective range of 15
yards
• Training needs to reinforce that head shots are NOT ACCEPTABLE

There was a media blackout here in LA, during the raid. The only way you could watch it as it happened was on Ustream and other social media sites. Just like the clips we see when other countries go thru something like this.
HISTORYBUFFPA 3 months ago
@HISTORYBUFFPA Quit lying. There was no media blackout. Maybe YOU blacked out.
1Makyo 3 months ago
@1Makyo Stations here in LA County stopped covering the event shortly before the police moved in, then resumed coverage at their regular 4:30am start. At that point the police were removing the last 2 people. ABC7 said they were to have people embed. with the police when it goes down, but they did not nor did any other station aside from social media outlets and protestors themselves, shoot live feeds as it happened. You'd know that if you lived in LA, or had something original to say.
HISTORYBUFFPA 3 months ago
@HISTORYBUFFPA You implied a government imposed blackout, which is, by definition, what a blackout is. "noncommunication, secrecy, censorship, suppression, radio silence a media blackout"
I live in San Diego and know LA better than I like to admit. There was no government mandated blackout.
1Makyo 3 months ago
@1Makyo Yeah, actually that's your opinion that I implied it. Nice try though. The fact is there was NO live mass media tv coverage of the police raid. That's a fact plain and simple. Social media was the only live broadcast. You can try to argue that, but you can't. You can respond again, I won't read it. Your silly ass can talk to yourself. Have fun, sweetie! ;)

takebackkean 3 months ago in playlist Police raids on Occupy camps
@takebackkean any protest demonstrating aggression will be squashed, the occupation is out number, unarmed, some of the cops love hitting people with those clubs, other officers have to know, they're facing the wrong way-they know their engaged in action diametrically opposed with their sworn duty. They know they're doing this because a chief gave an order, who took direction from a politician, they know the people they are posed to assault, given the command, are the people & public interest.

@shadowlesswalls @AnonymousGreen1 its illegal because you dont have permits or the permits expired. get permits, PAY for said permits and then it will not be illegal. If the tea party can do that, why cant you?? Not illegal to protest @ the parks, but it is to camp there. if you want to camp go to a camping spot!!
eagleeyez128 3 months ago
Here's a thought...stop protesting ILLEGALLY, go home, take a nap & stop antagonizing officers then you won't have to worry about an officer aiming his FLASHLIGHT at you!!!!
eagleeyez128 3 months ago
@eagleeyez128 You may want to review your constitution. It is not illegal and they just make up laws as they go. Otherwise the first day they would have been put out from the public property. Besides lets say you was right. The worst a cop should do is arrest you not threaten you by aiming at you. Plus u know how forceful the police been against occupy movement. If you review how much force a police is allowed you would see it's wrong what they do when they shoot at peaceful protesters.
shadowlesswalls 3 months ago
@eagleeyez128 And the prize for being the biggest moron on youtube goes to you! congratulations ;)

Fehnrique 3 months ago
it won't be long until battle hardened combat troops begin policing the streets, and soldiers will be far more dangerous than cops. Martial law is coming very soon; reports have leaked from bases that soldiers are being prepped for dealing with "civil unrest" situations that could threaten the "stability" of the US.
Heard of the New National Defense Authorization Act? Obama can already legally assassinate citizens, soon he can legally imprison anyone without charges, no access to legal help...
wpking 3 months ago
@TerranImmortal They aren't there for us. The cops stopped being there for us 30 years ago. Who are you going to cry to when the cops are stabbing and robbing people? Because that's where our world is headed if we allow the cops to do whatever they want all the time. It's a fantasy you have that cops are so morally superior lol!
raincheck01 3 months ago 7

If I were that officer's partner, I'd take his gun from him.

lol look at this wuss freaking out.

@docventure Rubber bullets fired at close range can be lethal.
raincheck01 3 months ago
So having a flashlight attached to a gun (rubber bullet / bean bag / live ammo/whatever) and pointing at it someone to be able to see clearly is perfectly fine? Yeah I'd like to see how fast the cops would be gunning someone down if someone tried that crap with them.

sionus9 3 months ago
@sionus9 I meant in the context of peaceful protests. In lieu of violence, there's no reason for police to show up other than to antagonize the protesters. That's what they're doing here, and at almost every other peaceful site. It's a waste of city resources and totally unnecessary.
Obviously there are other reasons for police officers to show up in places.
