None of these people really know what they're talking about. The car was in first gear the entire time, so it was impossible for it to do 90. Ignoring that, Bryant's problem was that he really didn't know how to drive a standard, and he kept panicking and causing the car to stall and then lurch on startup. To make matters worse he drove a Saab, which are known for tricky clutches. Two lessons to be learned here: for cyclists, wear a helmet. For easily flustered drivers, stick to an autotragic.
The simple truth is, if that gutless prick Bryant had tapped a Police Officer on a bike with the front bumper of his car, as he initially did to Darcy tp precipitate this whole sorry affair, the Officer would have drawn his revolver and shot Bryant dead. That is correct police procedural response to a perpetrator who is threatening the officer with bodily harm by vehicle - it happens all the time - too bad it did not happen here. Bryant is a waste of space. Shame!
Something no right at AG ministry. Remember prosecution called cyclist attacker in Bryant case? Everything is on video. There is no evidence of the attack. Before the accident he is always at his bike.
As bike gets in front of SAAB, driver suddenly notices it, breaks and car stalls. Pulls forward impatiently. Irritated? Possibly touches rear wheel lightly (Briant's statement), but no damage. Stops. Ramming. Tough to go that far with tight clutch. Breaking with engaged clutch will stall the car immediately. Bryant breaks, but not stalls. He manages his tight clutch well.
Ramming is the first accident. He breaks, immediately reverses, turns wheels, drives forward as cyclist is still getting up. Sheppard is always in front and moves away (left) which indicates he is unstable.
Sensitive Bryant spent no time reflecting. He did not get out to ask if cyclist is OK. He assumes he is OK. He fails to provide insurance information as law requires in collision. He decides he can run from scene. Any reasonable person (never mind a lawyer) knows even low speed collisions can create significant damage including internal damage. All happens in 8 seconds. 3-4 perfect gear switches.
Cyclist jump toward SAAB only after he saw SAAB running from the scene for no reason. He latches as the car almost left the scene. Is the jump unprovoked? No. Natural reaction to stop someone from leaving. A police officer or Good Samaritan could do same seeing all which happened at the scene and be called a hero.
Bryant continues speeding up knowing that cyclist is latched and has no way to escape but dropping to his death. Best hope for survival - holding as strongly as he can hoping driver will stop. Bryant drops the cyclist and again fails to stop. Again fails to stop and remain.
Bryant got creative calling the jump an attack. Possible history of erratic behaviour facilitated this. Everything is on video and happened quickly so the history is irrelevant. It is Bryant's failure to stop and remain in the first accident which leads to the second accident ending in death. Everything is on video.

@101101101777 no, he led the ban on pitbulls. I have no idea on how this guy is walking around free. Well that was to be expected. We all know justice is blind, but she sure can hear and mone talks. If Bryant was the cyclist it would be a completely different story.
and so alternatively, if bryant stopped and let Allan knock his teeth it would be a sad tragedy. F that. why should people be victims of animalistic behaviour.
maybe bryant was an idiot, but allan made a choice. he chose make a stand drunk and without civility and risked his life. end of story
@johncocktoasten99 Everyone assumes Darcy was drunk. Sure we heard his alleged blood alcohol level. But you watch the footage of him ride his bike, he was hardly inebriated, otherwise he would have been falling over himself.
But I dare anyone not to be angry if a driver deliberately rams them with their vehicle. Bryant threw the first punch by ramming Sheppard's bike. Then he sped off, trying to avoid the police and justice, so Sheppard instinctively grabbed at the vehicle. Cops have done it.
the reality is theres no facts to convict him based on the way our justice system coddles criminals. However i do agree he should be responsible for his vehicle and hence the charges. that being said, like the string of dead pedestrians..disobey traffic laws and you put your life at risk. smarten up and listen to your mother.
what do you thinhk is going to happen when you take on a 1000 pound hunk of metal??
I'm an avid cyclist yet couriers in general take their life into their own hands riding like morons daily. add a completely intoxicated individual/nut to a bike (twice the legal limit. SMASHED) and what do you expect to happen? theres a reason impaired driving is an offense.
Secondly, the police charged him with the heaviest possible charge yet somehow the police are responsible for the injustice? people are completely ignorant to court proceedings and watch too much LA Law as reality. The court system is full of no balls liberals that are supported by the anarchists and hippies. now they suddenly want the courts to act harsh. ironic. also, 'all he heard was yelling and screaching tires' yet hes has no problem crucifying the driver as a murderer.
@johncocktoasten99 They should have charged him with failing to remain and obstruction of justice. He left the area, in fact he left two collision scenes: the one involving the bike, and the fatal one. He drove around the corner out of sight from the witnesses, and he let his passenger run off before the police arrived. We don't know if that passenger left with incriminating evidence, or if they were someone he was not supposed to be seen with. Later his wife, a lawyer, comes forward.
sigh. please. complete sensationalism. typical example of people acting ignorantly and based on no fact. Listen to this moron 'eye witness'.. he was going '90'...90! the speeds were confirmed to be 35km/hr. The witness clearly has no concept of reality yet enquiring minds accept his 15 seconds of fame as 'it must be true'. of course he ensures he was going '90' with his radar eyes. His radar eyes that saw nothing until after Bryant begins to drive away.
@johncocktoasten99 lol exactly, eyewitness accounts are as reliable as chocolate teapots, they said he mounted the curb, drove on the sidewalk, no evidence of that whatsoever....radar eyes, hahaha exactly.. even if he did, who cares, Try jumping on my car with my loved one in it and youll be going for a ride straight out of hell.
@cfqpa In order to hit the trees and the mailbox, you HAVE to mount the curb.
I wonder why they never released the autopsy report on Darcy Sheppard. His head was crushed. Not exactly justification for standing up against a hit and run driver.
@phillydisco Like i heard on the radio today, from a sensible person..
when being attacked while in my car by a raving drunk ner do well, oh whatever shall I do? oh look a gas pedal, stomp! haha now hes in the trees too? the forest! in downtown T. O hahahaha, and next he drove him under a waterfall and through a swarm of locust. hahaha, anyone else perplexed by this mouth clown? still with the hit and run story eh,? your in a dream land
@cfqpa Just look at the area at street view. He directed his car into the oncoming traffic lane so he could knock the dangling cyclist off. That would require him to drive on the curb. It doesn't mean his whole car was on the curb, just the left tires. It also takes skill to control a vehicle when pulling such a maneuver. For a person acting like he was afraid for his life, Bryant sure knew what he was doing.
false stories? hahaha, they have pictures of darcy assaulting a motorist previously and like 8 other incidents that were identical. They didnt have him charged cuz they felt sorry for the guy, but did he stop? nope. Hell no he didnt deserve to die, but what didn he think he was going to get by jumping onto the car? An apology from Bryant , "sorry your life has been so hard and troubled"?
lots of people overcome the effects of their early life
all the jealous idiots who turn there blind eyes to facts are doomed to always be that way instead of improving there own situations. Its so easy to hate on people who are doing well, doing right, and who are well regarded. Was Bryant going around ranting , raving, drunk, on drugs, getting kicked out of the house by the wife and having the cops called? Nope, we made a success out of himself and then his life converges with this drugged up, drunk maniac who doesnt take care of his 4 kids
Thanks for posting the vid of eye witnesses testimony. The news story about the charges being dropped on Bryant CTV totally made it look like Darcy was to blame. This an absolute outrage this is Canada and looks what happens when these politicians like jaffer and this attorney general and the cops can get away with anything even murder. We must have justice in Canada Bryant needs to go to trial.

BOTH PARTIES ARE AT FAULT IN THIS! There was no need for the biker to pull in front of the driver. But the drivers retaliation is inexcusable as well.
YOU IGNORANT PEOPLE NEED TO LEARN TO COEXIST AND SHARE THE ROADS.
I know some bikers, and they go around kicking cars and shit, it's fucking retarded. They hate drivers and think their shit doesn't stink. And then when they meet a driver like this, this is what happens, they get road rage, and someone dies.
id say death sentence but thats to easy, it think, slowly cut his limbs off one at a time in front of his family. show these fuckheads in cars that they cnt do that.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
And this accomplishes what exactly??
This whole thing could have been avoided if the Biker didn't pull right in front of him and probably exchange word with him.
RESPECT EACH OTHER ON THE ROAD.
This shit happened most likely, because to people that hate each other(biker hates cars, and driver hates bikes) bump into each other. The outcome will always be the same.
SO JUST AVOID IT ALL TOGETHER. PULL BEHIND THE CAR, THERE IS PLENTY OF ROOM. DONT BE AN IGNORANT ASS AND THINK YOU OWN THE ROAD.
Don't blame the victim. You have to realize that the road was cut down to one lane, and there wasn't a bike lane for Darcy to ride in. His vehicle was small and light, so he could legally take the lead position. So what if he hurt Bryant's feelings, that doesn't mean Bryant was allowed to first ram him, maybe with intent to kill, then later actually killing him.
If someone cuts you off in line, feel free to cuss and swear at them. But if you punch them, you have to be punished.
I see Bryant's spin doctors are back. What ever you people try and say, the video's don't lie. And what regular person say's word to the man, you people try to hard to be the average person.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Word to the man 5tyxx. You said it all. These videos basically show nothing. I'm glad not everyone is so easily influenced. Bryant may have bumped the cyclist, but cyclists are supposed to follow the rules of the road and not be weaving around cars stopped at lights. Cyclists are supposed to be in the flow of traffic, just like other cars. All parties involved made mistakes here.
While it's not considered good manners to pull ahead of the cars at a red light, it isn't illegal, nor does it warrant getting rammed by a car. It wasn't an accident because Bryant made two brakes just shy of colliding with Darcy before the third time he gassed it and knocked Darcy to the road. That isn't legal in any jurisdiction, just like you can't run over an old lady crossing the street when the light turns green just because she's walking too slow.
If that creep doesn't get serious jail time, I'll be working at organizing a massive protest and demonstration. Bryant should have been charged with premeditated murder and should get a life sentence. Anything less is a miscarriage of justice precipitated by political expediency.
The prosecutor dropped all charged and today this killer, Bryant is free, this is the corrupt Justice System in Toronto that everyone has complaint against them.

I believe MB is innocent....yes he did bump into the cyclist.......the cyclist then in a rage and bike lock in hand(so they say) along with some alchol courage decides to go after the guy in the car.....who is with his wife celebrating and anniverserary.......MB scared for the safety of himself and his wife takes off(dont lie to yourself if a man grabbed onto your car suddenly with your wife in the car you would protect yourself)......cyclist holds onto the car...scared driver takes off THE END
Look at the surveillance video footage that Honest Edits put up. You can see how the incident started. They haven't released the footage of Bryant ramming Darcy into the mail box, or running over him with his car, but they do show Bryant ramming his car into Bryant at the traffic light. All this nonsense about Darcy waving a weapon or getting Bryant into a headlock is spin from the PR company Bryant hired. They put false stories into the media to turn opinion against Darcy and for Bryant.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
lets say Bryant did ram him......and lets say it "WAS" intentional...lets just say that a guy celebrating his anniversary was pissed enough to ram any cyclist.......I still dont see how Darcy ended up on the driver side HOLDING onto the door....most sane ppl would not hold onto a moving car....I do believe Bryant has some Media influence but.......REALLY? holding onto a moving car???
Darcy was probably doing something instinctual, trying to grab a hold of a driver getting away. Did you look at the footage? He barely has a second to even contemplate his move. All he sees when he's getting up off the road is a driver backing up, then trying to drive off after hitting him. He didn't have ESP, so he didn't know this driver would drive at excessive speeds ramming him into stationary objects. NOBODY in their right mind would drag and ram, unless you're a felon escaping the law
Its quite sickening. But what's even more sickening is the media dredging up old check fraud charges from several years ago that DS had, and that he may have had a drink or two an hour before the accident, as if those had direct bearings on the incident. If you view honestedits video footage, you will clearly see that Darcy was ahead of Bryant, but Bryant ran him down. Darcy then tried to stop the fleeing vehicle, hoping that grabbing on would force the driver to stop. Instead, this happened.

Road enraged drunk criminal with nothing to lose hovering and screaming around my car wanting an altercation? My wife in the convertible car and I have no gun? Man hanging on to my car as I try to get away, man still screaming and in the panic I interpret his "screaming" as further aggression toward me or my wife in an unlocked exposed convertible? He won't let go? No murder here in my opinion. Why was the drunk hanging on to my car?
You'll have to do us a favour and point out the drunk, because none of the video surveillance footage shows a drunk. Look at Honestedits video of the incident. Type in key words 'improved' 'bryant' and 'sheppard'. You'll see there was no drunk, and Bryant just plowed with his the guy for no reason, and then tried to take off in a hit and run.
By the way, the description of Sheppard's injuries points to serious head trauma. I'm guessing his skull was crushed. How fortunate for Bryant that the coroner hasn't released the cause of death to the media. I wouldn't be surprised if we found out that there were tire marks on Sheppard's body.
You haven't seen any footage of what happened, I take it? He gets rammed, twice.... then afterwards he goes after the guy in the car. Yeah, they were both in the wrong... When what happened earlier is brought to light, it is obvious Bryant is NOT in the clear. "Bumping" then ramming into a cyclist who is in plain view from a full stop is NOT legal. No matter who you are.
I like to think justice will prevail. After what I have seen and heard from the witnesses, Bryant is guilty of using his car as a weapon no question. He must think he above that law to have done this and then plead his innocence. I will be watching this story closely.
If Bryant doesn't face more charges, I see it going backward, in that the prosecution will give him some kind of plea bargain. He won't see the inside of a jail cell, only a couple of years probation, maybe a suspended license and demerit points for driving badly. They're not charging him with homicide, just with being a bad driver.
This story is very sad. They'll never be able to nail someone like Bryant. Too much money and power. I'm sure he has connections in the justice system as well.
When you witness something like that, it changes you. The anger, the cold-blooded nature of the crime. Then the driver fled the scene. These guys would never have known the driver pulled around the corner. They witnessed a hit and run.
The police said they didn't feel the need to give Bryant a breathalyzer because he said he didn't drink at dinner. Huh. I didn't realize you could do that. I'll remind my friends to use that excuse when they have a drink and go driving. :(
It appears that the PR people for Bryant, have removed their vicious comments about the witness statements. Remember Navigant, you can only go so far in what you say, otherwise it will turn around and bite you and Bryant in the arse.
This is just such a sad story. To think that some can justify the driver is a real nighmare. What kind of world do we live in where murderers can be excused as long as they are richer than their dead victims. Shame on the driver, the Police, the mass media and the PR firm involved in the spin!
My boyfriend saw the whole thing on his way to pick me up that awful night. It happened exactly as these guys said, I was on the sidewalk watching citytv interviewing these men, so this video is real and was taken 10 minutes following the accident.
Ironically, my boyfriend was picking me up because I didn't want to take the chance riding my bike home at night! I already know the danger's of being a cyclist in this city, I have been hit twice and I only ride casually!
Thank you for sharing that. Honestedits has uploaded security video footage that the media played very briefly before they started going on about Darcy drinking an hour before. The footage shows that Darcy couldn't have been drunk, because his bike is in full control. And it shows Bryant ramming his bike, no time really to have a conversation before he speeds off around the downed cyclist. Keyword search 'raw footage' and 'bryant' you'll see all the vids under Honestedits profile.
Sorry, one question. Did your boyfriend see the part where the first guy said the back tires ran over the cyclist? Was this a continuous motion forward or did he stop reverse over the guy and then go forward?
I'm not surprised. I am a cyclist and have gotten in similar situations. Once at a red light a guy went crazy on because he claimed that I am supposed to be riding on the sidewalk.
Actually, a bicycle is supposed to get a full lane. Since there is a lot of construction downtown, there aren't any bike lanes, so cars and bikes have to share. If it was possible to build pedestrian and cycling walkways and dedicated the roads solely to cars, I guarantee the number of car accidents would sky rocket. It's the motorists who are the most dangerous. A bicycle may hurt or maim one or two people in a collision, but a car can kill or injure a whole crowd of people before stopping.

I never ride my bike on the road...I always use the sidewalks (i know how inconsiderate of me) but are you gonna pay if I get hit by a car....nope.....personally I rather see cyclist on the sidewalks rather then sharing the road with 5000 lbs vehicles...........its like putting a mouse in a snake pit and crying later on that the mouse got eaten..........cycles on the road was a bad idea from the start
Great video, Expect it to be disabled, I'm sure Bryant's spin doctors are working on it. I should ask 1608 weston he's one of them. Your so transparent mate. You Tube don't be like the media and police and cover up evidence, keep this video on!

Sorry to piss on anyones parade but did I not hear these dweebs just say the cyclist was hanging onto both sides of the car ? Very credible witnesses I would say.
Yes you did. They saw what they saw and that will come out in court
This interview was immediately after they had just seen a man killed by ramming him against stationary objects. They may have been a little stressed out. In their eyes they may think they just witnessed a murder not an accident. They wouldn't be alone in that thought.
Michael Bryant is a "LOOSE CANON" and should be in jail with no parole rights based on the tapes we are seeing. Michael Bryant's acts are deliberate, vile & murderous. He should not be eligible to walk the streets until his trial has been dealt with. Parole at any set limit is not an issue for this MURDERING CRIMINAL.
Bryant can have the best lawyer team ever & Navigator PR firm to do all the damage control to sway public opinion, but all this will be no match for his adversary: the hand of God.
God knows the truth and with all the expensive help Michael Bryant will hire to clear his name, God will expose Bryant for the liar he is. And if Bryant does not set the truth forward, God will expose and track him down like the animal he was against poor Mr Sheppard (a father of 3 young children).
Suspicious indeed. CTV's' "spin" on this is obvious. This entire incident is a blemish on Toronto and an indicator of how horrible our city has become under the supposed leadership of Mayor Miller. It's a shame someone had to die. Time for a changing of the guard.
None of these people really know what they're talking about. The car was in first gear the entire time, so it was impossible for it to do 90.
Cops have done it.
phillydisco 1 year ago 2
the reality is theres no facts to convict him based on the way our justice system coddles criminals. However i do agree he should be responsible for his vehicle and hence the charges. that being said, like the string of dead pedestrians..disobey traffic laws and you put your life at risk. smarten up and listen to your mother.
what do you thinhk is going to happen when you take on a 1000 pound hunk of metal??
johncocktoasten99 1 year ago
I'm an avid cyclist yet couriers in general take their life into their own hands riding like morons daily. add a completely intoxicated individual/nut to a bike (twice the legal limit. SMASHED) and what do you expect to happen? theres a reason impaired driving is an offense.
johncocktoasten99 1 year ago
Secondly, the police charged him with the heaviest possible charge yet somehow the police are responsible for the injustice? people are completely ignorant to court proceedings and watch too much LA Law as reality. The court system is full of no balls liberals that are supported by the anarchists and hippies. now they suddenly want the courts to act harsh. ironic. also, 'all he heard was yelling and screaching tires' yet hes has no problem crucifying the driver as a murderer.
johncocktoasten99 1 year ago
@johncocktoasten99 They should have charged him with failing to remain and obstruction of justice. He left the area, in fact he left two collision scenes: the one involving the bike, and the fatal one. He drove around the corner out of sight from the witnesses, and he let his passenger run off before the police arrived. We don't know if that passenger left with incriminating evidence, or if they were someone he was not supposed to be seen with. Later his wife, a lawyer, comes forward.
phillydisco 1 year ago
sigh. please. complete sensationalism. typical example of people acting ignorantly and based on no fact. His radar eyes that saw nothing until after Bryant begins to drive away.
johncocktoasten99 1 year ago
@johncocktoasten99 lol exactly, eyewitness accounts are as reliable as chocolate teapots, they said he mounted the curb, drove on the sidewalk, no evidence of that whatsoever....radar eyes, hahaha exactly.. even if he did, who cares, Try jumping on my car with my loved one in it and youll be going for a ride straight out of hell.
cfqpa 1 year ago
@cfqpa In order to hit the trees and the mailbox, you HAVE to mount the curb.
I wonder why they never released the autopsy report on Darcy Sheppard. His head was crushed. Not exactly justification for standing up against a hit and run driver.
phillydisco 1 year ago
@phillydisco Like i heard on the radio today, from a sensible person..
when being attacked while in my car by a raving drunk ner do well, oh whatever shall I do? oh look a gas pedal, stomp! haha now hes in the trees too? the forest! in downtown T. O hahahaha, and next he drove him under a waterfall and through a swarm of locust. hahaha, anyone else perplexed by this mouth clown? still with the hit and run story eh,? your in a dream land
cfqpa 1 year ago
@cfqpa Just look at the area at street view. He directed his car into the oncoming traffic lane so he could knock the dangling cyclist off. That would require him to drive on the curb. It doesn't mean his whole car was on the curb, just the left tires. It also takes skill to control a vehicle when pulling such a maneuver. For a person acting like he was afraid for his life, Bryant sure knew what he was doing.

An apology from Bryant , "sorry your life has been so hard and troubled"?

Its so easy to hate on people who are doing well, doing right, and who are well regarded. Was Bryant going around ranting , raving, drunk, on drugs, getting kicked out of the house by the wife and having the cops called? Nope, we made a success out of himself and then his life converges with this drugged up, drunk maniac who doesnt take care of his 4 kids

Thanks for posting the vid of eye witnesses testimony. The news story about the charges being dropped on Bryant CTV totally made it look like Darcy was to blame.
It's tragic, but totally AVOIDABLE.

DONT BE AN IGNORANT ASS AND THINK YOU OWN THE ROAD.
staphinfection 2 years ago
Don't blame the victim. You have to realize that the road was cut down to one lane, and there wasn't a bike lane for Darcy to ride in. His vehicle was small and light, so he could legally take the lead position. So what if he hurt Bryant's feelings, that doesn't mean Bryant was allowed to first ram him, maybe with intent to kill, then later actually killing him.
If someone cuts you off in line, feel free to cuss and swear at them. But if you punch them, you have to be punished.

All parties involved made mistakes here.
amydewolfe 2 years ago

They put false stories into the media to turn opinion against Darcy and for Bryant.

lets say Bryant did ram him......and lets say it "WAS" intentional...lets just say that a guy celebrating his anniversary was pissed enough to ram any cyclist.......I still dont see how Darcy ended up on the driver side HOLDING onto the door....most sane ppl would not hold onto a moving car....I do believe Bryant has some Media influence but.......REALLY? holding onto a moving car???
5tyxx 2 years ago
Darcy was probably doing something instinctual, trying to grab a hold of a driver getting away. Did you look at the footage? He barely has a second to even contemplate his move. All he sees when he's getting up off the road is a driver backing up, then trying to drive off after hitting him. He didn't have ESP, so he didn't know this driver would drive at excessive speeds ramming him into stationary objects. NOBODY in their right mind would drag and ram, unless you're a felon escaping the law
phillydisco 2 years ago 9
this is absolutely terrible
FinCups 2 years ago 2
Its quite sickening. But what's even more sickening is the media dredging up old check fraud charges from several years ago that DS had, and that he may have had a drink or two an hour before the accident, as if those had direct bearings on the incident. If you view honestedits video footage, you will clearly see that Darcy was ahead of Bryant, but Bryant ran him down. Darcy then tried to stop the fleeing vehicle, hoping that grabbing on would force the driver to stop. Instead, this happened.
phillydisco 2 years ago 6
It was the propaganda firm that Bryant hired that was feeding the media a lot of that irrelevant stuff.
What kind of unscrupulous monster kills someone and then pays people to drag his victim's name through the mud just to cover his own sorry ass?

Road enraged drunk criminal with nothing to lose hovering and screaming around my car wanting an altercation? My wife in the convertible car and I have no gun? Man hanging on to my car as I try to get away, man still screaming and in the panic I interpret his "screaming" as further aggression toward me or my wife in an unlocked exposed convertible? He won't let go? No murder here in my opinion. Why was the drunk hanging on to my car?

skjsdkjsd 2 years ago
You'll have to do us a favour and point out the drunk, because none of the video surveillance footage shows a drunk. Look at Honestedits video of the incident. Type in key words 'improved' 'bryant' and 'sheppard'. You'll see there was no drunk, and Bryant just plowed with his the guy for no reason, and then tried to take off in a hit and run.
phillydisco 2 years ago 9
By the way, the description of Sheppard's injuries points to serious head trauma. I'm guessing his skull was crushed. How fortunate for Bryant that the coroner hasn't released the cause of death to the media. I wouldn't be surprised if we found out that there were tire marks on Sheppard's body.
phillydisco 2 years ago 8
I wouldn't be surprised at that either :(
MeaghanEdwards 2 years ago 2
You haven't seen any footage of what happened, I take it? He gets rammed, twice.... then afterwards he goes after the guy in the car. Yeah, they were both in the wrong... When what happened earlier is brought to light, it is obvious Bryant is NOT in the clear. "Bumping" then ramming into a cyclist who is in plain view from a full stop is NOT legal. No matter who you are.
kiamsauce 2 years ago 7
I like to think justice will prevail. After what I have seen and heard from the witnesses, Bryant is guilty of using his car as a weapon no question. He must think he above that law to have done this and then plead his innocence. I will be watching this story closely.
BurnabyTed 2 years ago 7
If Bryant doesn't face more charges, I see it going backward, in that the prosecution will give him some kind of plea bargain. He won't see the inside of a jail cell, only a couple of years probation, maybe a suspended license and demerit points for driving badly. They're not charging him with homicide, just with being a bad driver.
phillydisco 2 years ago 6

There needs to be a change!
Li1981 2 years ago 9
Thank you for sharing that. Honestedits has uploaded security video footage that the media played very briefly before they started going on about Darcy drinking an hour before. The footage shows that Darcy couldn't have been drunk, because his bike is in full control. And it shows Bryant ramming his bike, no time really to have a conversation before he speeds off around the downed cyclist. Keyword search 'raw footage' and 'bryant' you'll see all the vids under Honestedits profile.
phillydisco 2 years ago 7
Sorry, one question. Did your boyfriend see the part where the first guy said the back tires ran over the cyclist? Was this a continuous motion forward or did he stop reverse over the guy and then go forward?
phillydisco 2 years ago 3
I'm not surprised. I am a cyclist and have gotten in similar situations. Once at a red light a guy went crazy on because he claimed that I am supposed to be riding on the sidewalk.
whatnameisavailablee 2 years ago 4
Actually, a bicycle is supposed to get a full lane. Since there is a lot of construction downtown, there aren't any bike lanes, so cars and bikes have to share. If it was possible to build pedestrian and cycling walkways and dedicated the roads solely to cars, I guarantee the number of car accidents would sky rocket. It's the motorists who are the most dangerous. A bicycle may hurt or maim one or two people in a collision, but a car can kill or injure a whole crowd of people before stopping.
