london my home and birthplace i both love you and hate you. you bring me joy and sorrow .i work and play on your streets .i have left you many times yet i always return
It was an adventure wasn't it. strange to look back on the london of late 80s and 90s. I spent my youth there, and left a little bit of my heart behind me. I wouldn't change a thing now , when I think about it.
Kangaroocomedy are you talking to me? If you are, just type on youtube poštar lakog sna pips, chips & videoclips and you would see video and you can listen to the song it's the same song just covered
there is a cover of this song in croatian language it's called poštar lakog sna (postman with light dreams - something like that) by pips, chips & videoclips it's good cover in croatia they are popular
Such an amazing collection of photos, and for the vast majority, this was their London. Not the usual Big Ben, Tower Bridge ans Statue of Eros, thats for the tourists.
The pictures of Canary Wharf could've been taking from my flat window. Lovely comment and spot on. Was there over 10 years thought it was time to come home (Belfast) I miss London so much.
i've grown up listening to the pogues practically all my life. being from Nepal, i NEVER thought i'd get to see 'em. when i finally did get to see them in Boston, USA last spring, it was the best day of my life. won't ever forget it. have one more year remaining in the US n will defo try to catch 'em again this year. i love shane. amazing poet. amazing song. too bad none of the good bands ever make it to Nepal!
The best love song ever written 1. Rainy night in Soho 2. Makes no difference ..The Band 3. Holding back the Years..Simply Red check it ! Youre the measure of my dreams
.....i found it spooky that all the places i lived in london from the 70's to the 90's are on your photo's ....... bearing in mind that the lyrics of the song related ..... there is a case for psychic! ...... great artwork ...... music and pictures! well edited xxx
Shane McGowan has written some of the best songs about London ever. This is my city, the place where I was born. I am 9000 miles away but one day I will return.
Thought it could have been a lot seedier mate and more "nocturnal" but some very nice pictures and a cracking song. Shane was/is? a great lyricist. Just needs to stay off the sauce but it doesn't look likely.
The ginger lady.... your the measure of my dreams ..... love of woman or drink. Drink wins.
