Mr. Leach, as always a marvelous video, with great thanks for sharing. I raised two daughters alone, and even though they didn't show too much interest when younger, they seem to now. They are both raised and out in the world on their own, whenever they return to the nest, we share more wonderful times in my studio. She is adorable, warmest regards, and thanks again for taking the time to post these, they really mean a lot.
Hello simon, linda from Ga .usa.I would like to say we like what you are doing with pottery and videoing your work .I would like to see more light at your wheel area to help us see better and simon could you incorporat (Giselle) in your videos more? That would be nice,as my husband and I just started Pottery since we came across one of Your videos.Thank you Simon for all you are doing.and keep it up
Hi Giselle, your adorable, bet your very proud of your Daddy. He's a great potter, world known an all your a lucky girl ;-D Thanks for introducing Giselle hope we see her every so often. Nice pulling, nice bottle! Have a great day!
Great vigorous pulling Simon . It shows in the finished shape . Just great . Next time you come you must bring Giselle with you . Lizzy and Erica would have loved having another girl around the house I know . . All the best for now .Guy
Simon, you're daughter is a charming young lady. I love her questions--what is clay made of indeed? Have been clicking with every video, such a small price to pay for great instruction. Thanks!!
Hey thanks for clicking ! it really makes a difference to me ,& I appreciate everyone else who does too, some good browsing can be found through the ads as well ..cheers SL
Water is smooth, therefore it reflects; hence it is shiny. Clay is generally made of silica, kaolin, feldspar etc replace kaolin with ball clay. Iron for colour. etc.
Simon, I just took a visit down to the Pucker gallery in Boston. Any tim you are back in the states, Go!
What an amazing collection, Hamada, Shimoka, and a ton of others!
They are the outlet here for Phil Rogers, beautiful beautiful stuff, but expensive!!!! :( I wanted a tea bowl so bad, but there was no way i was paying 350 dollars!
Wooohoooo! You really ARE getting the clay up there! I have to keep reminding myself of the vertical space between inside hand and outside hand.... IT HELPS! Making smaller items in beginner's classes, we are taught differently. (I was, anyway.)
Next time you visit Guy, I want to hear you sing with him! :-D
Its Sunday morning, March 22nd, here in Colorado, USA.
It looks to be evening at your house, in your Dad's studio, your window's are dark.?
I have several students about your age,
I have one boy that has been taking classes with me, twice a week, for 5 years now, he is 12. Many of my students have taken awards at our local fairs and
art shows. Do you do any other crafts around your house, or at your school?
HI Simon, Your Daught is adorable and she did ask a question I here at least every class session...what is clay made of??? Wel Done Giselle!!!
About the missing leater...I'm liking the fishing bobber trick...attach it to one end of the sham...it doesn't need to be a large bobber, just one that's has come color so it catches your eye. I have you at the top of my list for my students to watch, so hopefully more clicking coming your way. Thanks Simon!!! Laura
These are some really large pots you are throwing now! If I'm not mistaken you are using the forms of your smaller pots and making them "super sized" :) I also want to comment on how rejuvinated you seem after your trip...great to see you so excited to throw and share...enjoying the videos immensely :)
The pots are shiny when they are wet because the light reflects of the water

Giselle is a very beautiful girl and asks some tough questions :) Her smile is priceless.
OK Simon your throwing so tall that the pot no longer fits in the video screen..
I like the comment about how the top of the pot creates the mood of the pot. I never thought about that before, but it's very true.
Looks fantastic!
