  • He's good !!!

  • oh WOOW!!! That is quite a talented young lad right THERE!!! he plays with a virtuosity many grown up fiddlers would grow jealous of ! Great job!!!

  • I really enjoyed that, you do your grandfather proud.

  • The four people who disliked this are deaf or tone deaf, you sounded awesome man! Keep on playing! : )

  • Lovely music, great style. well done.

  • it's a beautiful music ;)) what is the tittle ? ^-^

  • Super fine. Thank you. Whatever style it is, he's great!

  • Lovley Sligo style, Coleman esk !!!

  • awesome job!

  • that's some good fiddlin you doin there boy, and even though you're a ginger (an obvious black mark against you) well, I'm willin to overlook it. cheers to you and your good people, the gingers.

  • @Ashvegian you're a tool who tries too hard to be witty

  • @DJFozter thanks mate, at least someone appreciates the effort. :) (you wouldn't be one of them by any chance....a ginger-minge...)

  • The second best version of this set in Youtube. Congratulations.

  • I close my eyes and hear Kevin Burke here......that is such a compliment too for such a young man!

  • granfada, lol nice just the same

  • @trollfiddler Agreed. Great style on this young man, but the settings are straight from Coleman.

  • Shane -- I love that swing Timing-- Lovely playing Indeed -- jim,

  • love how he just plays the music with ease! and sounds fantastic at the same time! :)

  • Great job!

  • I love his technique, but sadly for me he seems to have all the pieces of "Bonny Kate" jumbled-up like a crazy Picasso !?

  • this young man is my new hero! god bless his grandfather for sharing this with him!

  • Beautiful.

  • Gifted lad ! Wonderful touch !

  • Terrific; you did some complicated stuff there and pulled it off to perfection - well done young lad your grandpa would be proud of ye - he recognised promise when he saw it. ( some wee slides Kevin Burke would like too!)

  • Quite strange for me. An inxredible fiddler but seems to lack inspitation, or something. If he should one day find some music that blows his mind, then his talent will be better harnessed. Look-out Vivaldi - Prepare to rotate !

  • woaw, you're gifted ! Love your violin btw ;-)

  • so crisp and clear - i aspire to this playing!

  • what sucks...is I don't have any other relatives that play fiddle, so they can't teach me. The only time I ever learned a fiddle song from someone by ear, was when I played with Darol Anger! Boy what an opportunity it was!

  • I have loads of irish relatives who play traditional instruments but I only ever see them at funerals cos I live in England. So I don't have a tutor either :)

  • wonderful playing. Really made me smile :D xx

  • That wasnt shite....id love to see you play im sure your no where near as good as him.....HaHa...!!

  • very nice playing. Some of the runs and slurs remind me of a John Mulgrew from County Derry fiddle cassette called "The Woodworm Got Into My Fiddle".

  • Loverly fiddling Just fabulous. You must come to Brisbane Australia and then meet up with fiddlers here one day.

  • Good job, Shane!

  • Great job!!

  • Beautiful fiddling!

  • Very good!Sounds similar to the way Kevin Burke plays it...however every player has a slightly different way of playing things and you do really well!Would love to hear more of your playing!

  • gud job

  • Well that shows how much you know. Either this lad or his grandfather studied Coleman well. This is great stuff. I'm suprised at Comhaltas saying it's an unusual style. It might be unusual compared to the trendy modern homogenous crud Comhaltas promote, but it's good old fashioned South Sligo playing.

  • My reply was aimed at the person who said this was sh*te.

  • your doing leitrim proud mr meehan

  • this makes me just wanna learn real hard.

  • yeh, nice style, well played.

  • Beautiful played in the style of the old (Sligo...) fiddlemasters. The dynamics and ornamentation gives the tunes extra drive and beautiful intensity... I'll use this video to improve my own playing. CHAPEAU !!!

  • gavdven, good to see someone else still knows the old Sligo music.

  • ahhh....and your grandfather transferred his love of the instrument and music to you!!...what a player!!...would love to hear you in 5 years....what a virtuoso!

  • fantastic!

  • wow fantastic enjoyed every bit such style!!!!

  • he has such a unique style of playing!it's fantastic!!! :)

  • Good toe tapping tunes - well done.

  • YEAH!!

  • lovely music
