  • this is sorta crap but thats what i think

because it was better to hold down buttons in the first place now you have to bar down hole fretts to play a note

  • @The911SONIC You can still play the same 5-button guitar on EVERY old and new song released for Rock Band. The Pro-Guitar mode in Rock Band is for select new songs. If you don't want to play real guitar, you can still play the same thing you've always been used to.

  • that adapter fits with an epiphone les paul???

i dont think it but i hope that

  • @hayqdueleymucho There is no adapter. The only guitars you can use in Rock Band 3's Pro Guitar mode is this one (Fender Squier) or the Mustang.

  • @RockBandAide yes the mini adapter

  • @hayqdueleymucho I think you mean the MIDI adapter. It is required to use the Squier, but not essential for using the Mustang. The MIDI adapter also lets players use their own MIDI-capable drumsets and keyboards in the game, but the only two officially supported options for guitar/bass are the Mustang and Squier.

  • @RockBandAide well so y les paul dosnt fit but i have a friend with a squier i going to stole it muahahahahaha

    lol

  • I think rocksmith will be much easier as the real guitar cost 199.99 with game and cable

    Smart!

  • @Jasaxos What does easy have to do with price?

  • @RockBandAide exactly.

  • @Jasaxos Um... OK.

  • this never came out did it???

  • @benz1980 If it didn't, not sure how I have had two of them in my living room since the beginning of the year.

  • THat is a REAL MIDI guitar. Additionaly, it has fret sensors to detect fingering, to be compatible witth the pro controller

You can plug it into a amp like a standard Strat..

  • is the neck made of wood or plastic???

  • @DDfilmsDD Maple neck with a polymer fingerboard.

  • I was excited about this until I heard it was exclusive to Best Buy. This product is already going to have a limited audience due to price and difficulty so they should not limit themselves even more by choosing probably the worst retailer there is. I simply despise Best Buy as I have witnessed their practices first hand and will not be buying from them. I will just have to wait until someones buyer remorse kicks in and pick one up used.

  • @rz22g OK, then pick it up April 1st everywhere else. It's only a timed exclusive.

  • @RockBandAide .. Well that is good to know. Where did you get this info ? All sites I visit do not mention it being exclusive for pre-order only. Amazon for example will usually have placeholders for products coming soon and those were pulled a few months ago. Now you can find no mention of the product at all.

  • @rz22g Direct from Harmonix.

  • fuck this now we have to hear more wannabes saying they can play guitar...it was bad enough when they created guitar hero but now people are going to play on one string and saying they are the best...GAY!!!!!!!!

  • @rockout102 No, you'll only be hearing about the good ones that have been playing for a few weeks and can already play circles around you. It's funny, I've interviewed members of Guns N Roses, Ozzy Osboure, and more, and all of them think this is a great idea. But once again, you have nothing in common with talented musicians. Have fun losing your high school's Battle of the Bands contest.

  • @rockout102 I hate everything and everything sucks and i dont like this because it is popular and you shouldnt live your life this way and this is going to effect me horribly in my everyday life. My god people...if you dont like this stuff then dont look at the site or the videos. So what if posers think they can play or just like the game or whatever. Live and let live man. There is nothing more annoying that the angry musician that hates everything that's different from their perspective.

  • is that Paul Rudd?

  • can you let me know if you can use a regular real guitar?? i have a fender starcaster guitar

  • @bigbrojoe21 The game is not designed to use your own guitar, but someone has found a homebrew solution on a way (that's very cumbersome and expensive) to use your own guitar. There's a story on the site addressing how it is possible.

  • Bad that this guitar has not two picks - it would be great for indie concerts - just imagine playing on guitar with controller on it :-D great!

  • oh nooooo!!!... i didnt see a truss rod opening on it... thats gonna suck... i hope that neck is real strong then.....

  • @xXMEGAtallica1991Xx

Carbon fiber necks don't need a truss rod. And those strings are probably loose as hell anyway.

  • @ElectTheDesert You can play it for real so I think there is a truss rod and the strings are standard tuning

  • Sup with the pickups? It would be awesome if they had a trem

  • Are these out yet? Any advise on where to buy? I guess you cant use a regular guitar with interface because sensors in the neck. The other videos look killer but just showing screen so they might be using the new button one. Thanks much

  • @shreddidawg Read the description.

  • LOL he cant play the guitar for shit! xD

  • @evilmetalgod That's the point of this guitar...

  • where i can buy this guitar?

  • @Chrischrischris7Mr It is available for pre order right now from BestBuy.com.

  • Please answer this...but say i dont wanna play pro, would I be able to use the old rock band guitars? Like with the red yellow blue green orange?

  • @EpicFailPanda Of course! That mode is still and always will be included.

  • They should release a plug that allows you to play the game with your normal guitar. Damn excessive capitalists.

  • this is actuley awesome.

  • is it just me or does that soud like Sark from respawn in the background :L

  • can you learn things like hammer-ons and string bends with his guitar? seems like this can offer only a very rudimentary way of learning

  • this is just awesome. :D I've never played rock band or guitar hero, but because of this new concept, I want to play this!

  • they are doing the same as power gig rock band suck donkey balls

  • @TheGhandis Have you seen PowerGig? It doesn't teach you ANYTHING about playing a real guitar. Rock Band 3 actually teaches you how to play real guitar.

  • @TheGhandis Also RB3's pro mode was in development and testing BEFORE power gig was even thought of. So, if anything Power gig is the knock off, and they just threw together a shitty interface and an even shittier song list as quickly as they could, and were about to get said steaming pile out 3 weeks before RB3.

The real crime here is that because of an uber shitty exclusive contract, we will probably never get any Eric Clapton songs in RB or even GH... AND power gig doesn't even have cocaine

  • @TheGhandis and just a thought,RB3 was thought up WAAAAAAY before Power gig, Power gig was released Right before RB3, you know why? because some cheap people wanted some cash so they say "Hey why dont we just make a shit game with a fake 6 string guitar that you can play on a game that doesent even match notes,AND release it right before the good game RB3 so we can make a quick buck off retards who cant tell the difference.

  • @TheGhandis and just a thought,RB3 was thought up WAAAAAAY before Power gig, Power gig was released Right before RB3, you know why? because some cheap people wanted some cash so they say "Hey why dont we just make a shit game with a fake 6 string guitar that you can play on a game that doesent even match notes,AND release it right before the good game RB3 so we can make a quick buck off retards who cant tell the difference.Trolling, complete :)

  • @TheGhandis Actually, PowerGig ripped RB3 off. They've been working on this for years.

  • @TheGhandis Well also PowerGig sucks. NOT accurate at all.

  • hey someone please reply to this. can you play rock band 3 with your own guitar or do you have to buy the guitar especially made for rock band 3 pro guitar

  • @KimisaryTheGod it has to be a midi guitar and there will be an adapter released soon for your own midi instruments but no one is sure what guitars and keyboards it will be compatible witth

  • @KimisaryTheGod As of right now, you will only be able to use the guitars specifically designed for Rock Band 3.

  • @RockBandAide thnks for answering

  • @KimisaryTheGod Of course you can if your guitar has midi output and touch sensor neck.

  • Comment removed

  • 280 bucks for this guitar you could just buy a real one for around the same price or possibly even less

  • @osrbgb And teach yourself how to play as quickly and precisely?

  • @RockBandAide well you could take lessons instead of a video game lol but yeah the game does look much more fun im gonna get it since i can play real guitar already :P

  • @RockBandAide Lol u cant learn through rb either 1,2 or 3 its just a fun way to get your fingers exirces to then start learning for real if u want to. ,cuz i dont think u can remember any of the song shown to you in rb live without the charts.

  • @lesk84ever Have you seen Rock Band 3 yet, sir? You play a REAL guitar, not some fake plastic one like in previous games.

  • @RockBandAide what quality is the strings on it? can you use it as a real guitar.... if not then I'm with osrbgb as it's expensive and hey I might just get a real one and take lessons instead....

  • @Blayros The string quality is the same as a regular Fender Squier. It IS a real guitar, so you can definitely plug it into an amp and play it just like every other electric guitar.

  • @RockBandAide cool :) thanks for the quick reply

  • @Blayros you guys really need to do your research first before you come and bash...

  • @Darknesssleeps what the fuck you on about? I asked them a question and they replied..... we all did in an orderly fashion..... then you come along and start trollin..... back in your cave troll!!! back I say!!!!

  • @RockBandAide And if you was to pay for lessons im sure you would end up spending more than $280, were i live its £25 for a half an hour lesson :\

  • @osrbgb

It is a real guitar and Gamestop has them for $170

  • @osrbgb

It is a real guitar. Gamestop has them for $170

  • @osrbgb it is a real one. But with this one, you can also play the game.

  • @osrbgb Well it cost more because of the sensors in it and the technology behind it...for rock band of course

  • @osrbgb wel its as squier so its pretty good guitar so ist a good deal with game as teacher

  • @osrbgb he already has a real one dumbass.

  • @osrbgb This IS a real guitar. You can plug it into an amp and play normally without Rock Band.

  • Finally! I play guitar (like shit) and it's nice to see real guitars instead of a gay toy guitars.

  • what is the name of that song? the last one.

  • @vivalashit909 Its called The Hardest Button to Button from The White Stripes

  • why in march why!!! the mustang doens't look as real as the squier

  • It's so beautiful T-T

  • where can i buy this?

  • @MrHW See details in the description.

  • Should that guitar be out now? and where can i get it?

  • @lilcrazyjames89 See the latest details in the description.

  • does it show you the certain tuning for a song or does that matter?

  • @stevieray345 The tuning does not matter in-game, only the correct finger placement.

  • wow... now i have to wory about breaking strings on rock band now lol

  • @stevieray345 Well, technically no. You can play normal 5-lane charts like you always have, if you want. Also, you technically don't need strings on the neck to play, as it triggers a note played based on where your fingers are sitting on the fingerboard, but it's obviously in your best interests to replace a string if broken.

  • when is that coming out? cus i've looked at a whole lotta sites and not found anything???!?!!!

  • @Lampshrine95 Did you try looking at my site or read any of the comments here? It is scheduled for early 2011 at this point.

  • @RockBandAide hehe......... oops

  • QUESTION, is the Fender Squier Pro Guitar already sold in stores? no matter where I check, I can't find it, online or in stores..specifically the full string guitar, pick-ups to the fretboard with string, (i.e. the one he's using in the video)

Someone please link me to a site that sells it if you know where it's sold at.

  • @xshugox It is not available yet. It will be launched in early 2011.

  • I play real guitars and I was wondering if this will be compatible with music programs for computers. I have amps, but I do most of my recording on my Dell.

  • @Forgie666Laughter This guitar has MIDI out, so you will be able to use it with any MIDI capable device.

  • what is all this talk of a midi adapter. will it recognize the sound and vibrations off any guitar or will the accessory only be compatible with the squire. also when is it even coming out and the price tag, little has surfaced about this guitar even though the game has been out for awhile now

  • @bigj619d3 The game has been out for... 3 days in the US, and came out today for Europe and elsewhere.

The guitar is console neutral, so it will require the Rock Band MIDI Controller, which allows for use of MIDI capable devices in Rock Band 3. It will come out in early 2011 with a price tag no lower than $250.

  • @RockBandAide thats kinda a "turn off" to know a squire is going to cost that much just because its under the rockband 3 label and some added hardware. i dont know much about MIDIs but is it possible for a 3rd party company to make an adapter to so any guitar is compatible or does it also require solely the hardware in the squire. the guitar would be the only way id buy rb3 cuz i have all of the others and wouldnt need another unless i use the pro guitar with the squire

  • @bigj619d3 OK, well then you can use your own guitar that has a touch sensitive fingerboard that can you show your finger placement on screen in Rock Band 3...

  • @bigj619d3 The MIDI Controller only allows the Squier guitar for now, but will also allow nearly all MIDI capable drums and keyboards to be used in the game.

  • @dragonbreathstinks i wish but u need the controllers

  • will the fender strat have a xbox guide button lol

  • @BigMacFury No, the guitar is console neutral, so you'll need a MIDI Controller for your console to use, which will have the Xbox button on it.

  • hey are the pickups on that guitar any good

  • How about I get a real guitar, add a Roland GK-3 midi pick up to it and plug that into the midi adapater :) and then into the 360

  • So you can take any real guitar and play rock band 3 with it?

  • @dragonbreathstinks Nope. Only this or the Rock Band 3 Mustang.

  • does it have good pickups

  • Hey do you still need to buy the MIDI adapter with this? or can it hook up without it. (after all it should otherwise I might as well buy another electric with MIDI in it)

  • @Pickle312 To connect to the game, you will need to purchase the MIDI Controller, but it is not necessary outside of the game.

  • Wonder how much money im gonna have to save up?:p

  • @smokecloud7 Early estimates put the starting price at least $250.

  • WoW,Awesome! *-* ,but can play with this in other games?even if only use the commands in the some strings in the guitar?

Sorry for my english,I'm Brazilian XD

  • @MultiXification As of right now, it's only going to work with Rock Band 3 (and as a real guitar outside the game, of course).

  • will we be able to buy the pickups used on the fender squier?

I mean... I already own a respectably good guitar and I just wanted to have it recognized, to be able to use it, and not buy another one :P

  • @Dan1loBr Right now, only the Mustang and Squier guitars are designed to work with Rock Band 3.

  • @Dan1loBr i understand ur point view...but this is a change so everybody will learn to play the guitar..i know it bites if u have a guitar..but to play trough the video game i think u need the new one :)

  • @OkamiRaion yeah... thing is I didn't want to spend more to buy a toy-ish guitar to learn how to play, and then spend more on an actual guitar with good pick-ups to actually play the songs

I know the squier guitar has a respectable sound, but if you have a good model already, then you'd only need to put a game's pickup.

Like the middle pickup, which people hardly use xD

  • @Dan1loBr yea I was thinking the same thing. I own a $700 les paul plus top.....

  • @JavinWatsonTV Right now, only the Mustang and Squier guitars are designed to work with Rock Band 3.

  • @RockbandAide

Question 6: Will there still be big rock endings on pro guitar??? LOOOOL I can just imagine kids at home thrashing the s*** outta there strings, playing horrible notes when they see that :P

Question 7 : Is this guitar impact and fire resistant? because I want to burn and/or smash my guitar when i get overdrive or a big rock ending (I mean honestly how can you thank getting overdrive or a b.r.e without giving a sacrifice to the rock gods?) and play it again for the next song :D

  • @Burnedeyes513 That's a lot of questions... why don't you hit up the website (see the description) and fill out the contact form so I can get back to you with more details (if possible).

  • @RockbandAide

Question 3: How do the strings feel, are they nylon, nickel, or bronze feel??? I am used to nickel and bronze because those are used in electric and acoustic guitars the most respectively.

Question 4: CAN YOU DO BENDS ON THIS THING?!!?!? I love playing blues and i always love playing bends, do the songs have a special tab for bends or is its not there :'(

Question 5 : How do you use the vibrato bar (whammy bar) on this guitar, i dont see it and i need it for getting more overdrive

  • @RockbandAide Okay, im pretty psyched to see this guitar, sounds like a pretty fun thing to play ( i play real guitar , at an average level i guess <--- no bragging :3 more ppl have to stop doing that) and i want to ask alot of questions b4 i might want to by it.

Question 1 : Is it a single-coil or a humbucker guitar because i dont know if the white or black thing is the real life pick-up :3 <-- tech talk :P

Question 2 : Is there a tone knob on this thing?

  • I play guitar and i'm thinking of getting this, just for the fun factor.

I'm not sure about the songs in the game though

  • So, what happens if you're left handed? Would you have to re-string it or how does that work?

  • @superdeeduper51 If you're left-handed, you turn on Lefty Flip just like in previous titles to play in-game. If you play outside the game, you're going to have to restring... just like on a real guitar.

  • Looks sweet, but one big question: Will this guitar be released for the PS3 aswell?

  • @TheDeadPlayers The guitar itself is console-neutral. You will need a MIDI Controller that is console specific to play on the PS3. The MIDI Controllers are available for all three major consoles.

  • SOOOOOOOO......DOES IT SOUND LIKE A REAL GUITAR?, OR CAN U ONLY HEAR IT WHEN U PLAY THE GAME?

  • @9tailednaruto17 It IS a real guitar, made by Fender. You hook it up to an amp and play it, same as every other electric guitar, outside the game.

  • Wow guys lets just calm down for a sec. I think (and I am going on a hunch here) that they made this game to be "fun" and not something COMPLETELY teach you real guitar. Pro guitar is not the whole RB3 experience and HMX knows that so please calm down and stop arguing about the pro guitar's ability to teach guitar. Plus I am pretty sure the game is not out yet so don't claim anything just yet, and whether you like it or not the pro guitar IS closing the gap between virtual and real music skill.

  • I am lost, I play guitar in real life (I am pretty average) if I pick up the PROGuitar for RB3 will I be able to get into the groove just like that or does it differ from real guitar in any way?

  • @IamDuhmb You'll definitely still have fun, and it will teach you the tabs (besides just the note charts) for real songs. I think people who are new to real guitar will get more out of it, however.

  • and lastly would you agree that you can take this experience from this "real" guitar and apply to on eof your "better" guitars?

i think if you got half a brain you would answer YES to all that I just asked..

so again in a "nut shell" mr peanuut it IS a real guitar..

the market is to TRAIN people to play guitar..

not sell you a thousand dollar guitar to play games on..

  • Damnit!! Just when I finally make expert on guitar too.. oh well, I imagine playing a legit guitar is still gonna rock socks! Oh and thanks cuz now I don't feel so noobish haha

  • just fckin play a real guitar with no game and learn songs its much more fun

  • @dexmix11 This helps people with the LONG learning curve that comes with learning real guitar. With the game, you can be playing a real song by the end of the night.

  • @dexmix11 no it isnt dumbass

  • @xxTheChosen1xx ya ryt pss

  • @tommyjwall Im not dumping on gamers, im a gamer too. Im dumping on the game's pro guitar because its gonna cost a lot of money and its not gonna accomplish much. Even in an interview harmonix says that its not supposed to replace learning guitar and they are having a lot of trouble with things such as timing(big problem is the lag when playing and if your playing a guitar it cant lag at all or else it wont work) I think they've taken on more than they can handle. Dont believe the hype!

  • @djf20051 Actually, you're quoting them wrong. They've stated that Rock Band 3 is not meant to be an educational tool, that if you want to fully experience playing real guitar you will have to supplement what you learn outside the game.

This game will teach you the fundamentals of playing a real guitar, teach you how to play a number of full songs with little-to-no previous guitar playing skills, and increase a players appetite for learning more outside the game.

  • @djf20051 Also, for someone that claims to be informed, where have you picked up this "lag" argument? Have you played it?

You can argue all you want... nearly all the experts and critics appear to be in love with the Pro Guitar feature. If there's something that you know that everyone else doesn't, please illuminate us...

  • @djf20051 Congrats, you're more informed than the average troll. But you dump on gamers because they're not going to learn guitar "the correct way." It's very condescending. Why does it matter? Shouldn't you be happy that they are trying to learn guitar, instead of sticking with plastic instruments?

  • @RockbandAide Im not being an ass or spewing garbage. Im merely putting my opinion down and not insulting you at all. You just cant take it that not everyone agrees with what you think. Ive also watched every video and have read everything that i could find about rock band 3 based on the pro guitar mode. I've made my judgements based on a lot of factors. Dont be so quick to believe that everyone out here is an idiot.

  • and you need to have to be able to have a lot of dedication to do something that takes a long time before it is rewarding. Most people, especially gamers like me would rather play the game because it is more fun in the short run. But I really wanted to learn guitar. From what i know about learning guitar, I believe that Rock Band's way of teaching you is not going to benefit you that much if you really want to learn. And why the hell are you so mean to people that don't agree with you?

  • @djf20051 Rock Band 3 will bridge the gap for people that want to learn, but have neither the time nor the drive to get over the long learning curve that comes with learning to play a real guitar.

As for me being mean to people... it's OK if random trolls show up and spew all sorts of garbage, but if I point out how much of an ass they're being, I'm being mean?! It's the equivalent of being sucker punched walking down the street and not being able to fight back. Too bad if they can't take it.

  • @RockBandAide Ive played Rockband and Guitar Hero and can play expert, that it was i did for many months. But I had an aspiration to learn guitar and I thought if I could play expert on guitar hero then i could do well with guitar. So i picked up a guitar 2 years ago, it made guitar hero seem kind of boring when a real guitar is so much cooler if you're good at it. It takes a while to get good and it takes a lot of practice. I know that a lot of people give up on it because it is too much work

  • BTW i think this is insulting not only to real guitar players(for obvious reasons), but also to people who have never played guitar and think that they are going to learn guitar by playing this game. I guarantee you that people are going to get too frustrated with it because from the looks of it, it looks a lot more difficult than it should be to play guitar in this game. If you want to actually learn to play guitar pick up a real one and get lessons, its not easy and does take a long time.

  • @djf20051 You ARE going to learn to play real guitar. There is a full fledged guitar trainer in game, and a tutorial for EVERY song in game.

Also, you're probably the same guy who said "play a real instrument." Not everyone wants to, and for those that do, this is the perfect transition to venturing out on their own.

And I'll take you up on your "guarantee." (Another word like "literally" that is constantly used incorrectly).

  • I've had a Fender Squier and to be honest, it's not a horrible guitar if your beginning and don't want to make a big investment. But somethings that are bad about it are: It will most likely give you bad form, it's made cheap and sounds cheap( You may have a lot of trouble with the volume of the high e string as it is a lot lower for some reason), it will need constant tuning. The good thing about it is that once you get a better guitar you can appreciate it more. I would agree with deca

  • @RockBandAide you can plug ths guitar straight into your amp and use it as a real guitar. its been stated in multiple videos.

  • @HoodlumFamily ...those multiple videos being some of mine. I knew this back in June was it was first announced and saw it in person at E3.

  • @RockBandAide They said it can be used as a real one, well only this one anyways.

  • price? oh nd cool vid

  • Can I use this Guitar as a real one too? oô

  • @vANchiemSee Yea you can lmfao. You can put it in the amp and play.

  • @vANchiemSee yea u can

  • @vANchiemSee Yes you can :)

  • @vANchiemSee yes you can, i've seen lots of videos on youtube confirming that... its gonna be so awesome, i can't wait

  • @vANchiemSee Absolutely. Plug it into an amp and you're playing a real guitar.

  • So many freakin trolls

  • @GoHomeRoscoJenkins I think it's funny... they keep driving my view count up, so I say, keep trolling trolls!

  • @RockBandAide I think this will be a very interesting and fun game to play. I've been playing guitar for years and im just curious, can you do vibratos and bends on this guitar? As well as change the gauge of your strings? Also when you hold frets down, do the frets lower like if you were to push a button down? Another thing, is there a freestyle mode where you can jam to something like a jamming track? Sorry for all the questions, im asking cause I never held this innovative guitar before lol

  • @Flip2Blues It's a real guitar, and as such can do anything a real guitar can do. If the existing Fender Squier can do all that, then I see no reason why this cannot.

  • is this a FULL size guitar? with 21 frets?
