In my opinion its not a good scene of this Movie. Its more the most beautiful scene all times. The lake and sun represent in my eyes furthermore the strength of nature, or better the giant power of god in nature. Think it cames from my belief in pantheism.
mann kann wild werden wie ein tollwütiger Hund wie alles gekommen ist, mann kann fluchen sein schicksal verdammen aber wenn es zu ende geht dann muss mann loslassen...
is so unbelievable how he was able to forgive and forget and move on without any grudges..after his own dad try to kill him when he was deformed baby and how he sold everything for her future child.
the actual qoute (for everyone wondering) is "You can be as mad as mad dog about how things went. You can swear and curse the fates, but when it comes to the end - you have to let go. "
Personally I am glad this video doesn't have many views so that there is no possible chance of it getting removed. This is my goosebump scene of this movie...
one of the best movies i've ever seen. very relatable for myself and the multitudes of other individuals who have shitty fathers. not only that though, makes you realize that life's too short to hold onto petty grudges based on altercations that are insignificant when thinking about the bigger picture. "When it comes to the end, you have to let go"
What can I add to everybody else? Wonderful scene, memorable music.I think it strikes a chord with everybody who has been angry with their father for one reason or the other and then seen him die.

Beautiful film with a beautiful message. I can relate to Benjamin in many ways in this film due to my Father and Mother divorcing when I was two and having my father be as elusive as Bigfoot for 26 years. He finally came back into my life after years of alcohol abuse and the first thing he said to me was "Son if you feel wrong about how your life turned out me and you can go around back and we can fist fight it out" I could have taken that offer and completely destroyed a shell of a former man
@NuclearMisfit But I couldn't do that to him. All the years of not having him Ive always felt like meeting him and beating him senseless but In the end I had to let go of my anger and grief like Benjamin said. I'm just fortunate to have him in my life and we have become really good friends.
@NuclearMisfit Found you're message buried within all these comments. Thanks for posting it. I felt the same about my father. However, I was more fortunate than you. I finally had a father when I returned from the military and my daughter was born. He told me that he was proud of me because I was more of a father than he could ever be. Redemption is a powerful and blinding human action.

A magical film and soundtrack.
Thank you.

Seems like every other scene in this film is a tear jerker, and every 15 minutes someone croaks. A depressingly boring movie.

Does anyone know if that bench/setting is just a set?
Because if it isn't, that's where I want to die.

The best citation in the world:
"You can be mad as a mad dog at the way things run. You can swear and curse the fades, but when it comes to the end you have to let go..."
:)
(Please, excuse my mistakes...the man in the video spoke very cloudy for my German ears;))

A stunningly beautiful piece of music to accompany one of the most moving scenes in film history.
Pure genius from both composer and director.
