I love how fierygirlawesome thinks she can tell what music is or not by showing it to people in a music academy. I've been a pianist 10 years and I think this is a very chaotic and original version of Eleanor Rigby very well perfomed.
You cannot tell that an arrangement is bad just because what you or other people think. If you don't like it don't listen to it, but don't come here and try to make me think like you do, because I won't. Music doesn't work that way.

@CristianDavis629 As a response to the last sentence of your comment, does that mean that the President of USA is allowed to bomb it? Or that a set of parents have "the right" to kill their children? A piece is allowed to have alterations, but completely changing the song that 17 people have to strain to recognize it is not ok. And why do you have to make me rant like this?!?!? GOSH!
the beatles were enough samples that had imagination. If someone does not recognize a song because you have changed some notes, or angry about it, does not support the creativity, or not have imagination.
@tigrankalevian there's a difference from not recognizing a song because someone had changed the notes to being angry to not liking it to saying a song is not good (without personal opinion). Edgar is probably a very good pianist but his take on Elenour Rigby is not done well, in my opinion and 17 others.
@fierygirlawesome I don't see the point of any of these 'rants.' It's just YouTube. If you don't like the interpretation, that's fine. That should be where it stops. Get over it.
P.S. It is technically an arrangement because the melody of the original is there. Though I don't see why it matters; it's not hurting anyone. Someone looking for unique versions of Eleanor Rigby will find that here (like myself). Who cares? (If you want to respond, know I won't be reading it. Just giving my 2 cents.)
Your 17 listeners dissatisfied seems to be the judge of the apocalypse.
I do not usually waste time counting how many people think about a video. But this video's statistics say that 15 people have voted negatively (something approaching your 17 listeners unsatisfied) to 59 people have voted for, but I also see that 101 listeners have put this video from your favorite videos, which means that they like my arrangement.
@fierygirlawesome I see that you really care much the numbers, and wonder why you did not say anything about the 101 listeners who have rated favorably this version of the song. Apparently, for you 17 is more that 101.
To me numbers do not interest me, but I know in advance that many are not going to like my music, but I also know that some will like my music. So I compose music for this last group of people. The 17 listeners who feel attacked by what I do seek their alpist in other channels.
I love this reworking of this wonderful song. The only part I didn't care for was the very beginning, up till when the main melody starts. A lot of the notes seemed to be very dissonant and didn't fit well with each other. LOVED it after the main verse began though-- great work, you've really given "Eleanor Rigby" a cool sound with your arrangement. :)
I dunno, its a little too jazzy for the beatles. Its original, but in its originality, it loses the actual origin. The actual original song had very distinctive negative emotionality to it, by way of the lyrics, and the style in which it was played. This just completely white washes the original emotion. C'mon guys! This is how this GREAT musician listen to it. I agree that if Paul and John wanted it to sound like this, they would write like this. But they are John and Paul, and this is Ordóñez... nonsense discussion..............
I mean...as a piece of music, this is pretty cool, but if John and Paul wanted Eleanor Rigby to sound like this, they would have written this. this is a cool piano piece with a theme taken from Eleanor Rigby, but this is not a "piano arrangement " of the song. Before anyone posts hateful responses, give me a break! He changes the freaking chord progressions of the song! How much can you take away from a song before it ceases to be an arrangement and starts being "inspired" by the original piece?
@MagikMan27 Agreed - this is a pretty cool piece of music. I'll say though, what makes it an arrangement is the fact that the melody of the original is still there. The meaning of making an arrangement of something doesn't mean you use the same chords. If you translate the song into another style, the structure of the song is going to change. That's what you do when you make an arrangement. Mark Hayes did a beautiful jazz arrangement of Amazing Grace that sounds incredibly unique. Same idea.
Ok, I'm not a rock, pop or the Beatles fan, so I like this more than the original. :) However Leo Brouwers arrangement for classical guitar is the best version.
Great to hear (and see this). I like the new harmonies and textures. New arrangements shouldn't try to sound like well-known versions but should bring something new to the songs. If a song can handle multiple versions well then it can be considered to be a standard. I'll bet this is fun to play, too! Thanks!
I like it! The harmony is very interesting, and the melody is still clear. Except for the last twenty seconds, but whatever. Very late romantic style.
My favorite is Chick Corea's version of this song.
@tigrankalevian For your reply to pianoman2317, you attack him for saying a fact. you call him a famished and without imagination mind. Analyze yourself; can the same be said for you? And also, for proper grammar, it would be famished and imagination deprived minds. :)
Your right it doesn't sound the same as the original from the Beatles. Watch this video every day to see when i have my video respond on this 1. I promise it will be the same with every litle detail like the original but for piano.
It takes lots of skill and creativity to make and play a piece like this, but it doesn't sound very good compared to the original. It seems too complex.
oh wow... this is some of the most amazing music I've heard. I dont see how people could possibly want you to rearrange this. its absolutely perfect. If i closed my eyes I could totally imagine an entire theatrical piece to this. completely captivating. excellence to the ears.
alvinandme! First off you could not even duplicate any of this even after E. Ordóñez poured his heart into this piece and took the time to upload his notation. It's funny when one has talent and other just try to justify it by critizing it's originality and not it's creativity. Shame on both of you jelous people. The other known fact that your legendary Beatles also bastardized other American artists as well! DUMB ASSES!
it took me a bit to realize you were playing jazz overture/underture or something but i agree with alvin that ruined the song im sure beatles would not approve of this. If a person doesnt like jazz they surely wont like this.
i can tell its advanced but a lot of jazz sounds horrible and this is a fine example of it while ruining a classical piece at the same time its an appauling peace to a beatles fan.
"Sounds horrible" is a relative term that refers to YOUR personal reaction to the sound. Not how "good" it is. Obviously this is sandpaper to your ears but what if it's an eargasm to me? The fact is it's a incredibly advanced and well thought out re-harmonization. I'm a music teacher at a private academy but I am nowhere near the level of this guy. As a music teacher it saddens me that people simply can't tell the difference between, "I don't like it" and "It isn't good."
@JohnnyStreets what happens when it's both? I made 17 people listen to this version and they said either it sucked, it isn't good, i don't like it, or (excuse the language) this is crap. As for me, if the artist is trying to be close to the original song, they were FAR off.
...maybe people just praise this because it's different and they think it would be foolish NOT to like it... It's like the Emperor's new Clothes... anyway, it's horrible.
No regrets: you're deaf, which is why you have not understood that this is not an jazz version. As for your mentality, is indeed worthy of medieval times: you're not only stupid and dull, but you refuse to any innovation. The only thing I regret is that in the twenty-first century still exist medieval minds. Your you could apply for king of the idiots: you have many options to win.
i can see the correlation complexity skill of the piece it sux and so close to jazz ill consider it that because the author of the piece could get no recognition by doing something himself he had to destroy a classic. lol in reality he was looking for recognition from lesser skilled artists ok dipshit i appreciate his skill and complexity but its simply destruction of a classic. go take your cortozone now.
The evidence shows that you're wrong: the author of this arrangement seems little concerned about gaining recognition: it does not say anything about himself, except his name. But if you look at other samples of his music, like the toccata and a fugues, you'll find that this arrangement is less complex things he has done. It seems that he has plenty imagination, skill and knowledge as to having to rely on a piece of others to say something itself with the music.
this arrangement has not destroyed anything: most people have commented that this version have understood that the author has recreated the song with great originality. You do not admit that there is creativity when it touches a famous song. That's all
I don't understand you...you say he's trying to get recognition because he can't do anything himself, so he "destroys a classic," when in reality, this is a very original piece of music. Your statements are in conflict with themselves. Do you not understand this man is an artist? And being an artist, has the right to "destroy a classic."
i have listened to this several times in the past and now this time it sounds to me like he just added eleanor rigby to his own piece it simply doesnt impress me and the sounds are more chaotic than with expression to the mood of the beatles song perhaps in his piece elanor is being murdered?
And who says an artist must restrain in the mood of the original song?
That's one way to look at it, maybe he took and said, "In my piece, Eleanor Rigby is being killed. I'm going to put that to my rendition of the song." Now your making sense!
I understand your position: your displeasure is because you do not understand what he has done this composer. The reason that you do not understand is that you just have listened elementary music. Your brain has anemia of culture. Feed your mind a few years listening to classical music and jazz. Perhaps forward to the day when your neurons function and you can understand the value of this arrangement.
people play jazz because they wanted to be different and were tired of standard chords not because its pleasing to the ear. jazz explores all the notes but people dont play all the notes because most sound like crap. classical is ok jazz sux its for mentally deranged or bored
I can tell you that is not true at all. I listen to jazz because I find it quite pleasing to the ear, and I'm quite sure that jazz musicians don't just play it because they're 'bored' or 'wanted to be different'; they play it because they like to play it.
I find this piece to be completely amazing... The writer definitely knew what he was doing when he wrote this.
thats the beauty of modern times i can make complete garbage and there will always be someone who will buy it regardless of complexity. i listened to this piece 3x long ago before i developed appreciation for it but i still think at first listen on occasion its a horrible sound. If i put salt in my eyes every day i would probably begin to like that too over time. if i played jazz everyday regardless of if i liked it i would begin to like it also. Jazz isnt all bad but its not all great either!
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. I've never seen anyone as committed as you do in the ridiculous show as a perfect idiot. You do not know anything about jazz or classical music. Your ears are permanently closed to any kind of music that is moderately developed. Your mind does not provide for more: that's all. You still making idiotic: your role is very funny.
Friend, I do not understand: if you do not like my arrangement, why you obsessed with him and listening to what both? I get tired so much verbiage. Let me hear what you're capable of doing. Come on, make your own arrangement and upload it to youtube. If you have very clear idea of how things should be done, surely you'll be able to do a great work.
i forgive not only your english but your piano playing as well, just kidding. You play good i dont care for the peace but i will tell you what i really do like and thats the beatles medley played on an old looking keyboard perhaps its simple but the tones are a hit and beautiful im sure you have seen the video already. im sure clitchocan wouldnt like it because she is to advanced for it.
Great on the treble clef, except for the weird walk ups and downs
sounds like you just made up random notes for the bass cleff sounds horrible
im sorry to be so mean about it but please take my opinion and use it to help yourself and rewrite this. this piece has a lot of potential if you can figure it out right
Déjame felicitarte también, es un arreglo de primerísimo nivel, yo soy de México y es muy grato descubrir el talento que hay en paises hermanos. Un saludo
Gracias por el comentario. Aunque he estudiado piano, prácticamente he abandonado su práctica. Apenas si tengo tiempo para componer, que es lo que realmente me interesa. Hay en youtube una versión de este arreglo tocada por un sobrino mío, Alvaro Ordoñez. En su canal la puedes encontrar. Gracias de nuevo por el comentario.

I envy you! Thanks! Wolf

this jazz version makes me envy deaf people. if midieval times the composer would have had his fingers or his entire hand chopped off.
screwbushcomegetme 3 years ago
No regrets: you're deaf, which is why you have not understood that this is not an jazz version. As for your mentality, is indeed worthy of medieval times: you're not only stupid and dull, but you refuse to any innovation. The only thing I regret is that in the twenty-first century still exist medieval minds. Your you could apply for king of the idiots: you have many options to win.

i can see the correlation complexity skill of the piece it sux and so close to jazz ill consider it that because the author of the piece could get no recognition by doing something himself he had to destroy a classic. lol in reality he was looking for recognition from lesser skilled artists ok dipshit i appreciate his skill and complexity but its simply destruction of a classic. go take your cortozone now.
screwbushcomegetme 3 years ago
The evidence shows that you're wrong: the author of this arrangement seems little concerned about gaining recognition: it does not say anything about himself, except his name. But if you look at other samples of his music, like the toccata and a fugues, you'll find that this arrangement is less complex things he has done. It seems that he has plenty imagination, skill and knowledge as to having to rely on a piece of others to say something itself with the music.
cortoypunzante 3 years ago
this arrangement has not destroyed anything: most people have commented that this version have understood that the author has recreated the song with great originality. You do not admit that there is creativity when it touches a famous song. That's all
cortoypunzante 3 years ago
I don't understand you...you say he's trying to get recognition because he can't do anything himself, so he "destroys a classic," when in reality, this is a very original piece of music. Your statements are in conflict with themselves. Do you not understand this man is an artist? And being an artist, has the right to "destroy a classic."
ChristianDavis629 3 years ago
i have listened to this several times in the past and now this time it sounds to me like he just added eleanor rigby to his own piece it simply doesnt impress me and the sounds are more chaotic than with expression to the mood of the beatles song perhaps in his piece elanor is being murdered?
screwbushcomegetme 3 years ago
It's not supposed to impress you!
And who says an artist must restrain in the mood of the original song?
That's one way to look at it, maybe he took and said, "In my piece, Eleanor Rigby is being killed. I'm going to put that to my rendition of the song." Now your making sense!
ChristianDavis629 3 years ago
I understand your position: your displeasure is because you do not understand what he has done this composer. The reason that you do not understand is that you just have listened elementary music. Your brain has anemia of culture. Feed your mind a few years listening to classical music and jazz. Perhaps forward to the day when your neurons function and you can understand the value of this arrangement.

people play jazz because they wanted to be different and were tired of standard chords not because its pleasing to the ear. jazz explores all the notes but people dont play all the notes because most sound like crap. classical is ok jazz sux its for mentally deranged or bored
screwbushcomegetme 3 years ago

Jazz isnt all bad but its not all great either!
screwbushcomegetme 3 years ago
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. I've never seen anyone as committed as you do in the ridiculous show as a perfect idiot. You do not know anything about jazz or classical music. Your ears are permanently closed to any kind of music that is moderately developed. Your mind does not provide for more: that's all. You still making idiotic: your role is very funny.
cielitochacon 3 years ago
read my prior statement it says exactly what you are saying you not only need to learn music but comprehension, lol.

"Pearls before swine" comes to mind.

Forgive my English.

i forgive not only your english but your piano playing as well, just kidding. You play good i dont care for the peace but i will tell you what i really do like and thats the beatles medley played on an old looking keyboard perhaps its simple but the tones are a hit and beautiful im sure you have seen the video already. im sure clitchocan wouldnt like it because she is to advanced for it.

Great on the treble clef, except for the weird walk ups and downs
sounds like you just made up random notes for the bass cleff sounds horrible
im sorry to be so mean about it but please take my opinion and use it to help yourself and rewrite this. this piece has a lot of potential if you can figure it out right

why?

This comment has received too many negative votes show
the beatles are atonal. that's why. it does the song no justice. it just gives it a lot of horrid chord on it's main theme. wow. it's gross.

Gracias por el comentario. Aunque he estudiado piano, prácticamente he abandonado su práctica. Apenas si tengo tiempo para componer, que es lo que realmente me interesa. Hay en youtube una versión de este arreglo tocada por un sobrino mío, Alvaro Ordoñez. En su canal la puedes encontrar. Gracias de nuevo por el comentario.
tigrankalevian 4 years ago
De todos modos, en mi canal hay un par de videos donde toco el piano, en una fuga de Bach y en un nocturno mío. Ojalá sean de su gusto!

nice....... probably beyond my abilities at the piano, but is there any way I could get a copy of this sheet music?
Thanks

OK, this is not that great. If you took out the random out of key notes, it would be better. It sounds completely out of key in many parts.
GrandPianist101 4 years ago
I'm inclined to agree.
As a piece of music, it's pretty impressive. As Eleanor Rigby, however, it is not so grand.

es muy buena la versión, es usted un gran compositor.
La que más me ha gustado es el tango de la muerte
