The difference between Ferraro and Wright is that while Obama took on the comments directly, Hillary hemmed and hawed and made it clear that if she doesn't agree with what Ferarro said, she certainly doesn't mind it too much.

Insisting that Obama is only winning because he is black just suggests that you have paid zero attention to the candidates and the events in this primary election, great job.

@mrbronze013 all she said was that him being black was the only reason he was getting as much attention as he was. It is a true statement. But the racism is in the implication that being black should count against him, which can reasonable be seen as potentially implied, intentionally or not. But Olberman goes too far blowing them way out of proportion and his attitude is that America is too racist for Obama's race to possibly help him. It's cynical and wrong minded of him and dishonest.

The thrust of his commentary is that the Clinton campaign has embarked on a strategy that will backfire and result in her not being elected. Olberman *did not* say -- at any point -- that Ferraro shouldn't exercise her first amendment right to speak her mind. Olberman is exercising *his* first amendment right to respond to Ferraro by calling her statements exactly what they are: racist.

Moreover, a world without reporters espousing diverse views is a world dominated by just *one* view that is mistaken for objective. Olberman is a liberal commentator -- he's just doing his job. And millions are thankful that he does just that.
