@brentduanefoster the old blue and the current Orange line stock are about the same age (give or take a year or two) and were made by the same company. the red line still has some stock that is about 10 years older than the old blues.
Their takeoff sound sounds just like the R160 of New York and also like WMATA's Rehab 2000 & 3000-series and the CAF/AAI 5000s and the Alstom 6000s. Same takeoff sounds nearly.
good because the blue line really needed newer subway trains ! the old ones are so squeaky and loud when they are on the curve track at government center.
So true. When the Carnarsie line in Brooklyn, NYC got the new cars they made that same sound. Too bad it doesn't last. I would love to get some pictures of the new trucks before the grime gets to them.
very nice, its about time the aging blue line trains were replaced. i just hope that annoying voice on the green and red lines isn't recording the next stop announcements on this one
they sound like our Toronto Rockets

I lived in Boston for seven years. It's about time they got some new cars for the Blue line. They had to be the oldest and most run down of them all.
brentduanefoster 1 year ago
@brentduanefoster some red line cars are actually older. the blue line cars ran down faster because of the salt air they've been exposed to

maybe they should invest in some new green line trains, because even the older blue line trains were less noisey that the green line
