It's not his movies that make him a prick. Hey, maybe it's just that I'm bitter that everyone likes him so much, and if that's the case I appologize to everyone who got offended. It's that he holds himself in this high regard like he's SO talented! Guess what, the only original story he's ever told was Eddie Scissor hands. Everything else is based off a book or a play or another movie. Check out an evening with Kevin Smith.

I'm not offended at all mate, so no skin off my nose!! But to be honest i see Burton's flicks to be completely in a class of their own ( terry gilliam is pretty close..). Even the remakes have that Burton-esque quality i love...

Nightmare B4 Christmas was his own..as was Big Fish, Mars Attacks, Batman, Batman Returns, Sleepy Hollow, Corpse Bride...

As for the remakes, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was way more in tune with the book than Willy Wonka..and was produced by the Felicity Dahl!!

Most of the movies you mentioned he didn't even direct. The only one that I personally liked was Sleepy Hollow. I don't know why, something about that type of terror reminds me of the movies I used to watch when I was a little kid. Man, I'm probably just gibbering right now, it's really late up here. Anyways, to each his own I suppose, I guess I just out grew his movies. Still haven't seen Big Fish btw.

Still not sure how that warrants him being a prick! And the one that he didn't direct was a Nightmare B4 Christmas..but it was his ideas and art that inspired the whole animation!

Anyhow mate, as you said..."Each to his own". I just thought that you knew something i didn't and i was curious as to what that was...

And yeah man, Sleepy Hollow is one of my favs. If you get bored one day, check out Big Fish...a few of my mates think the same as you and yet like that one.

I don't wish to anger you but "charlie and the chocolate factory" had as many mis-currents from the book than "willy wonka" did. And as far as getting the tune of the book correct, the first one is waay closer in that regard.

Doesn't anger me at all mate..opinions are just that, opinions! I love and grew up with Dahl books and i have to disagree. The film was shot with a bit too much emphasis on Wonka..and the story of how he came to be was discussed with Felicity Dahl and Depp..so that was completely new. But Roald Dahl HATED the original (i loved it..but it just WASN'T the book..). Dahls writings were darker than given credit for, and his widow remarked that Burtons was closest.

Despite all that, i found myself that it wasn't Burtons best...not by a long shot..but that it had more in common with the book than the original. But, as i said, each to their own mate

Besides, every Tim Burton movie I've seen each gave me a different feeling towards it and a different reaction, so no, you see one Tim Burton movie, you see a new, exciting, and unique story.

Actually, I AM succesfull at what he does. I'm an indy filmmaker in Austin. Don't talk about what you don't know, I may not have the sucess level he's at currently, but he was a starving artist at one point as well. As far as him being a cry baby check out the filn "An Evening with Kevin Smith". Nuff said. Geez, your no better than the idiots who think Soulja Boy is talented because he has money. They have money beause morons keep buying their products!

People buy because people like. I don't like Soulja Boy either but others do and just cause they like him and I don't, doesn't mean I have the right to tell them he sucks or anything. Who am I to diss others views and opinions on something.
