The anarchist love to have these opportunities to destroy and damage society. This cop was either racist, stupid or scared, in any case it is no reason to destroy other people property. Anarchist should leave the retribution for this incident to the media, courts and legislators, it doesn't provide any benefit to smash stuff. Anyone who says all cops are pigs, or "fuck the police" is a anarchist and has no respect for the protection and service they provide to our communities.

I always question how people in a riot get downtown in time to be part of the action?
I mean, if they drive how far away from where they think the riot will be do they park their car so to make sure their own car is not burned?
If they take a bus, do they carry a bus pass during the riot and a map of the bus stops to make sure that their part of the riot ends near a bus stop?

Riots are spontaneous and take advantage of popular anger-people often either get involved on a 'whimwith mob mentality (Angry Black Man) or they're prepared in advance (Black Bloc) The higher densities of downtown contribute to it-then there's people planning for shit in advance and go there via bus or car as you stated (protestors who get violent). People who bike in too. Also IIRC Oakland's city center isn't as large as say Chicago-so it should be easy to get to places in there.

they want you to turn this thing violent, it gives them an excuse to break out the goon squad. don't return the violence. i would not be surprised if the cops setup the whole thing. the busted up cop car video looks like a setup. police have used these types of tactics on whites who protest the gov. they dress up and act like protesters and try to get people to bust up stuff, makes the police break out the riot goons. don't fall for these traps.
