Whatever weapons you have equiped, thats what will be dropped or found during gameplay. If you need more certain ammo, then only have that weapon and thats the only ammo that will be dropped or found. If that makes sense.. Also, this vid is funny with Random talking instead of the usual deathmetal music that people put on...

doesn't completely work that way, when i went for the "one gun" achievement all i had was the plasma cutter with me, later on in the game, after chap. 6 or so, i kept finding random ammo that i didnt need, mostly flamethrower ammo... but i was finding ammo for all guns, you find a lot more ammo for the guns you carry with you, but ammo for every weapon still drops whether you're carrying it or not, it wasnt useless though, i sold it to buy more plasma cutter ammo :D

A nice tip on the power nodes. Always keep one in your inventory in case of those doors, so you don't end up having to backtrack or something, because the doors will always have enough ammo and stuff behind it to be worth the node you used. Only this first door comes close as a bit of a loss because there was only one ammo, a full heal (5K), and a gold treasure (3K), meaning you got just a little under 10K which was what the node was worth, but it'll have more when you return.
