And Bush didn't get elected either time.
And Chavez' nationalization of the oil infrastructure has helped millions of venezuelans out of poverty, while the US signs bailout checks for the super rich.

well this is a democratic republic, we don't exactly vote on every single issue, as nothing would get done. and bush was elected, believe it or not, thats generally how people become president. they have an 'election' in which people 'elect' the candidate the agree will best run the country. chavez was also elected in the same manner, however, he is also trying to cause a socialist revolution down there by nationalizing just about everything.
