How the HELL are we supposed to wait until 2015 for this film? I'm wallowing in my own misery that I can't read the next book, let alone wait for the film. GAAAAAAAH. XD
I think the comparisons to THG made by some people are unfair. I ADORE both books, Katniss and Tris are both two of my favorite lead characters ever, but...Tris's world isn't quite as 'messed up' initially. Sure, the Dauntless faction is brutal, but overall, the world isn't as strained and twisted. And they're both very differne formats. THG is a slow-building epic piece, Divergent is an action-packd, fast paced thrill ride. VERY different books.
@willkillyoulast i agree completely, i wasn't really comparing them, i was just pointing out they're both in the dystopian genre, futuristic worlds controlled strictly by government, that's what i meant. and i agree, thg takes time to process while divergent is energized and heart skipping. i love both books that's fo sure though.
@wildaatheart Haha no I didn't mean you when I said comparisons are unfair...a lot of people, like on Amazon reviews and things like that, will say "Sure Divergent is good, but it's not THG", and that always annoys me, because no one book is like another. THG and Diveregent are similar, I guess, because they're both dystopian, both trilogies, and they both deal with issues of war, but people are missing out the fact that both authors have different aims. I love your video by the way!!! Awesome.

Veronica's world is, the way I imagined it, a bit more liberal, there's not as much suffering. And her writing, her characters, her everything is all done in sucj a different way to Suzanne Collins. Even Katniss and Tris, both my favorite lead characters, have different kinds of strength...people just don't get it...
@willkillyoulast And Tris isn't in love with two boys. That was one of the main plots in THG. She's only in love with Tobias, and he's in love with her. There are so many other reasons it's different from THG, and I barely see a connection, but for some reason it reminded me of it. I hate how people are giving it a lower rating because they say it isn't as good as THG! It shouldn't be compared to other books! It should be how good the book was, not how good it was compared to another book
@JuJu24822 That's another good point...Veronica's romance plot is strictly in the 'one true love' scheme of things (pretty awesome romance, if you ask me), and Suzanne sort of shows how Katniss is torn between two different lives with two very different guys. It annoys me that all people see is strong heroine + dystopia = Ripoff of THG. Divergent is worlds away from THG...how do people not see that?
@willkillyoulast I mean it's KINDA similar, but when I think about it all I can really see that's the same is that people want to kill her. But in Divergent, they don't know about her! And it just annoys me how people are like 'It wasn't as good as THG so I'm going to give it a worse review." But it's a great book and just because it isn't as good as another book that's TOTALLY DIFFERENT doesn't mean you should rate it less! ARGH!!

And just because it was released after THG, people assume it's some sort of recycled tale, and just cause it doesn't pack a punch in the same way means that it's less deserving of their approval? Gets on my nerves. It's a FANTASTIC book. But at least we know haha, leave them to their cynical views, we're not the ones missing out.
@StephanieRose77 Like a lot of movies, it could be pused back as far as 2015 simply for the drawn comparisons to The Hunger Games (the first movie of which it out next year.) I honestly feel Divergent and THG are two very different dystopian trilogies, but the movies Super and Kick-Ass were compared so much that Super was only released this month, despite being filmed in 09. They have to cast, director, writer, film it...a lot goes into it. We'll have to wait a while but the wait'll be worth it.

Hugely enjoyable...a lot of action, romance without the "He was so beautiful and my heart couldn't stand it and I was obsessed with him and cared for nothing else" kind of crap. Tris is a really strong character, 'Four' is a wonderful love interest, what would have been a love triangle in other hands is more of an extra little hardship for Tris, there's humour, BIG shocks, a great ending, awesome characters, and VERONICA ROTH RULES!!!
