@lightbrownpoop The problem is as sad as it would be to watch people needlessly die to cancer because they refuse to get medical help they infect their children with the same thoughts, There are people who believe this who wont take their children to the hospital when they get a serious illness or injure themselves because they believe let the body heal itself and that's wrong children are easily impressionable by people they perceive as authority and people abuse that responsibility.

@NanoAsh1987 evidence usually doesn't matter in changing people's beliefs. we're all programmed to believe certain things based on what kind of environment we were raised in. and ultimately our perception of reality confirms our beliefs (even if they're false). this is the cause of much mental illness (false, self-sabotaging beliefs). if someone is programmed to believe something, they will probably reject evidence that suggests they're wrong. this is why religion "won't go away anytime soon".

@NanoAsh1987 you're right...it's true for the person, but doesn't mean it's objectively true. that's why certain beliefs are so dangerous. deep-seated beliefs that control us are formed during childhood. we come into this world highly creative and intelligent then destructive beliefs are drilled into us by our teachers, parents, religious authorities, media etc. and we are told not to question and blindly accept. this is what i meant by negative, limiting beliefs.

@Ramiromasters I think making God the "god of the gaps" is a huge mistake. Most cultures had nature gods. Many cultures like the Egyptians and Romans worshipped celestial bodies. Part of the purpose for the creation account was to show the prior polytheistic Hebrews that these things arent gods to be worshipped, rather, that they were products of His creating.

Example: Joseph's brothers, when thrown in jail said, "The LORD is punishing us for what we did to Joseph!" (selling him as a slave.) Why? God wasn't even present in the text? @NanoAsh1987 evidence usually doesn't matter in changing people's beliefs. we're all programmed to believe certain things based on what kind of environment we were raised in. and ultimately our perception of reality confirms our beliefs (even if they're false). this is the cause of much mental illness (false, self-sabotaging beliefs). if someone is programmed to believe something, they will probably reject evidence that suggests they're wrong. this is why religion "won't go away anytime soon".

@SpatialVortex I would suggest reading and listening to material to material from Abraham-Hicks , a lot of great audio and video is available here on YouTube :)
also I would suggest getting in the habit of meditating daily for 10-15 min. meditating helps us slow our thought's and let go of any inner resistance we may have... beyond that just enjoy yourself more and try to be creative finding new ways to feel better :D - just take baby steps and be gentle with your self.. much love&blessings 2 U

Basically there wasn't always a bible, there where some "scrolls" witted by pagan...o whoops I mean apostles of Jesus and those scrolls where compelled into an edited version by the Roman controller... I mean the holy church! yea thats right then they impos...(dam it) spread the word!

Gregg Braden just couldnt stand that Dr. Bruce Lipton wrote his best selling book, The Biology of Belief, and needed to jump on that band-wagon to cash in. Gregg compiles much wisdom of 'other people' but his ideas are not original. Just a guy trying to sell books.

@geesegaggle History its jammed packed with miracles, till someone came along and found the why they happen, then it was no longer a "miracle" it was an observable event. Believing in miracles might seem like a humble attitude, but I think its arrogance. In other words, if you see some event and don't understand what happen, instead of saying WOW I don't know how that happen, people say OH! its a miracle! and then their brain goes to sleep.

@JScott1266 I agree - a simple example using symbolism: Listen to and follow your heart which symbolizes love which symbolizes God yet the bible allegedly his symbolic inspired word says "the heart is treacherous" and that we shouldn't trust it. As the symbolism comes full circle it creates a paradox in religion.

@Ramiromasters The event was captured by multiple people. Just search around, there's more than one video uploaded to YouTube. Pope Benedict has even been nicknamed "the Marrium Pope" or something because these aparitions have been accuring ever since his reign. Fatima has some very intelligent scientists, too. This also accured at the Vatican a while back.

@Ramiromasters I think making God the "god of the gaps" is a huge mistake. Most cultures had nature gods. Many cultures like the Egyptians and Romans worshipped celestial bodies. Part of the purpose for the creation account was to show the prior polytheistic Hebrews that these things arent gods to be worshipped, rather, that they were products of His creating.

@Ramiromasters Also, applying the "god of the gaps" to our God would be rather difficult, seeing as how God works through a turn-of-events. Example: Joseph's brothers, when thrown in jail said, "The LORD is punishing us for what we did to Joseph!" (selling him as a slave.) Why? God wasn't even present in the text? I think of God as the force behing karma and chance. Afterall, the laws of nature spring forth from these.

This logic fails. There's nothing to suggest (short of the concept of God) that the laws of nature must function in the manner they do. We're pretty certain by now that God exists. Video phootage, photographic evidence and personal encounters all testify to His existence.
