@pier456 i own an s2000 do you know how much it costs to professionally install a turbo on an s2000? about $5g. i dnt know if youve ever driven an s2k in heavy traffic every day it really wears down on you. dont get me wrong i love my ap1 S2K but i would consider an srt4 just cus im in college and cant afford a second car. sure its not on the engineering level of my s2k but the srt4 is fast fun and practical. i used to knock on srt4's until i test drove one.

@Heath3250 Base neon has 2.0 liter sohc engine and maybe a T350 trans. SRT4 has a T850 trans and a larger 2.4 liter DOHC engine. also the chassis is stiffer with a larger front and rear swaybar then standard neon and the suspension is also "high performance" with a stiffer spring rate and damping/compression is also stiffer on the shocks.
also the lancer rally looks exactly like an evo bud.

its a reliable car as well its not just fast iv seen the stock internals of this motor hold 350hp and over 400lbs/tq as daily drivers ewith over 100,000 miles..they are great cars to play with are very fun and super easy to mod cuz the market for these is sooo frekin big

@SoquiMR3 mopar makes stages for srt-4's well, used to I should say. stage 1- pcm, and on 03, injectors, stage 2- bigger injectors stage 2 pcm stage 2 wastegate and a couple other bolt on's. then stage 3 is a bigger turbo and supporting mods. thats in a nutshell. message me if you want details so I don't have to stay in a character limit.

I'd rather have a stage 3+apr vw gti. Just as quick if not faster than the SRT-4 stage 3s and their not made by FIAT. Dodge had it's heyday when V8s were cool and gas was $.25/gallon. The new Golf R20's coming to the states in 2012 are going to be easily tuned to 300-350 HP with a simple reflash and well over 400HP with a turbo swap. They got all-wheel drive and they don't look like a toy factory threw up all over the interior.(Cobalt SS, Neon SRT, EVOS)

@srtallday i was torn between a 2005 srt-4 and a 2004 Mustang GT. drove both cars multiple times.. i ended up chosing the 'Stang. (: Srt-4 is deffinently way more fun to zip around some turns in. But the Mustang just feels nicer.. i rather enjoy the NA engine without turbo lag. not to mention the Mustang is deffinently beasty-er looking and sounding. both cars were about the same price and both run almost identical 1/4 times. but i can make the mustang way faster than the srt4 for the same money
@person3213 both are pretty good cars but i spent less then 700 bucks and my srt runs high 12's. good luck doing that with a gt mustang. parts for mustangs are twice the cost as the srt4's. But what do you mean by turbo lag? the srt has virtually none since it's a 2.4 forcing pressure down the turbo's throat. lag is something i'd expect in a civic or an eclipse.
@srtallday The new GT's dont need anything but a decent driver and a prepped track to go deep 12's. With slicks, hell even radials, they will do much better than that.
You dont notice turbo lag because your on the tdo4! Go bigger and you will feel it; however, lag is not always a bad thing in fwd cars. the higher in the rpm band your torque spike is from the turbo coming in the better in certain applications.

@srtallday my car ran a 13.9 bone stock. i could just cam it for about $500 and do gears for another $300-$400. then just a tune i could break a 12.8 easily. but what i mean with turbo lag is the fact with an srt-4 you have to wait for full boost to get all the power. the NA mustang has all the power instantly. but in a way not having all power at once isn't bad with a powerful FWD car. Mustang parts a dime a dozen though, so i could make it extreamly fast for almost the same money
@person3213 i don't know how you're math is working. that's asuming you have the tools and knowledge to install those listed parts. 9/10 times the person doesn't. and that would require extensive work and money. cams and gears aren't bolt ons and you're looking at at least another 500 to put them in. my srt rides on only bolt ons i put on myself. like i said, less than 700 bucks and a little elbow grease puts me in the high 12's. not many cars do that, especially mustangs.
@srtallday nah most people cant.. but it is possible for Mustangs. thankfully i have had the hands on experience before and half my family builds hotrods. but still, it might not be as easy work as just "bolt ons," but for about the same cost it can be done. even just using nitrous on a mustang will throw it into mid to low 12's. but yeah, SRT-4's are very easy to go faster than stock.. but after the 320whp+ range, you cant really be going much faster. in the 1/4 mile.
@person3213 oh like a 60 trim. a kit only costs 1100. they are amazingly cheap to mod. only car off the top of my head that's cheaper is a b16 or b18 civic. the 1100 dollar BB 60 trim kit includes everything. that block is good for over 600 hp.

@grizzanator I counted 6 seconds from 40 to 90 on the first run. And there's no way in hell that a WRX anywhere near stock can touch a Stage 3 SRT-4. Your car would have to be modded fairly heavily to hang with this car. We're talking a car with over 300whp that weighs 2900lbs.

@SoquiMR3 mopar makes stages for srt-4's well, used to I should say. stage 1- pcm, and on 03, injectors, stage 2- bigger injectors stage 2 pcm stage 2 wastegate and a couple other bolt on's. then stage 3 is a bigger turbo and supporting mods. thats in a nutshell. message me if you want details so I don't have to stay in a character limit.

I'd rather have a stage 3+apr vw gti. Just as quick if not faster than the SRT-4 stage 3s and their not made by FIAT. Dodge had it's heyday when V8s were cool and gas was $.25/gallon. The new Golf R20's coming to the states in 2012 are going to be easily tuned to 300-350 HP with a simple reflash and well over 400HP with a turbo swap. They got all-wheel drive and they don't look like a toy factory threw up all over the interior.(Cobalt SS, Neon SRT, EVOS)

If you put a 2jz TT in a cavalier and swap a 6 speed in it, would you say its a supra or a cavalier? The SRT4 is a neon with a body kit, rims, turbo, different tranny and motor, but in the end its still a neon. Yes they are fast but any car with the same shit is gunna be fast, not just the neon. @srtallday i was torn between a 2005 srt-4 and a 2004 Mustang GT. drove both cars multiple times.. i ended up chosing the 'Stang. (: Srt-4 is deffinently way more fun to zip around some turns in. But the Mustang just feels nicer.. i rather enjoy the NA engine without turbo lag. not to mention the Mustang is deffinently beasty-er looking and sounding. both cars were about the same price and both run almost identical 1/4 times. but i can make the mustang way faster than the srt4 for the same money

@person3213 both are pretty good cars but i spent less then 700 bucks and my srt runs high 12's. good luck doing that with a gt mustang. parts for mustangs are twice the cost as the srt4's. But what do you mean by turbo lag? the srt has virtually none since it's a 2.4 forcing pressure down the turbo's throat. lag is something i'd expect in a civic or an eclipse.

@srtallday The new GT's dont need anything but a decent driver and a prepped track to go deep 12's. With slicks, hell even radials, they will do much better than that.
You dont notice turbo lag because your on the tdo4! Go bigger and you will feel it; however, lag is not always a bad thing in fwd cars. the higher in the rpm band your torque spike is from the turbo coming in the better in certain applications.

@srtallday my car ran a 13.9 bone stock. i could just cam it for about $500 and do gears for another $300-$400. then just a tune i could break a 12.8 easily. but what i mean with turbo lag is the fact with an srt-4 you have to wait for full boost to get all the power. the NA mustang has all the power instantly. but in a way not having all power at once isn't bad with a powerful FWD car. Mustang parts a dime a dozen though, so i could make it extreamly fast for almost the same money

@person3213 i don't know how you're math is working. that's asuming you have the tools and knowledge to install those listed parts. 9/10 times the person doesn't. and that would require extensive work and money. cams and gears aren't bolt ons and you're looking at at least another 500 to put them in. my srt rides on only bolt ons i put on myself. like i said, less than 700 bucks and a little elbow grease puts me in the high 12's. not many cars do that, especially mustangs.

@srtallday nah most people cant.. but it is possible for Mustangs. thankfully i have had the hands on experience before and half my family builds hotrods. but still, it might not be as easy work as just "bolt ons," but for about the same cost it can be done. even just using nitrous on a mustang will throw it into mid to low 12's. but yeah, SRT-4's are very easy to go faster than stock.. but after the 320whp+ range, you cant really be going much faster. in the 1/4 mile.

@person3213 oh like a 60 trim. a kit only costs 1100. they are amazingly cheap to mod. only car off the top of my head that's cheaper is a b16 or b18 civic. the 1100 dollar BB 60 trim kit includes everything. that block is good for over 600 hp.
