  • Good reason to own an AK instead of an AR

  • Mr.Yaeger. I am a big fan of your tactics and training methods. As a veteran I would like to personally thank you for what you do, and for giving people the trainng that they need. I hope to able to attend one of your classes some day.

  • Way too much head popping up. But great show otherwise

  • Awesome video, great teamnwork.

  • This place looks a lot like a range near Vernon, B.C.

  • Because it is!

  • Small world. I Shot a C7A1 there at a 100m.

  • Small world indeed!

  • @JamesTeager,

As I am new to this kind of training, do you have students that use the AK47 format , or just straight AR's ? Thanks, James.

  • Every class!

  • Glad to here that ! Sorry for the double-post ! Damn Youtube ! ;) Thanks again, James !

  • looks like the officer in the helmet could benefit from a course in reload and gear setup efficiency. seems like it was difficult to maneuver his mags from his leg pouch. iim by no means putting him down at all....but just saying looks like his efficiency could be better...good stuff tho! love the vid! keep it up!

  • He is in a course learning that stuff. Everyone fumbles a reload....that actually trains.

  • pretty cool. Only thing I might say is that it appears that the guy with the helmet is having some issues getting those mags out.

  • That's why we train.

  • Will there be any classes in So. Cal?

  • Find a range and host us!

  • 0:40 - 0:47 maintain your weapon properly or die. a lot can happen in 7 seconds. especially when the targets are actually shooting back. Tactics seem solid, but if your equipment fails, you fail. (a full auto ak can dump approx. 70 rounds in 7 seconds.)

  • Can you tell me about this mythical weapon you know about that never fails?

By the way this is a TRAINING class. People (not you of course) make mistakes sometimes. I am glad you have attained "Zen Master" status for all things tactical and you are not a grasshopper anymore.

  • @ JamesYeager,

Do you ever have students that use the AK 47 format ? I'm kind of new to this type of training, and was wondering if AKs, and their variants, are ever present in your classes ? Thanks, James.

  • Every class!

  • This video is a moving drill but I have a tactical question. Is there anything wrong with getting prone to shoot around cover. I say this because, my guess is 90% of public cover can be shot through. Would it be a good idea to fire/practice from the prone poistion? Your a smaller target in my view. Just a question. Thanks

  • Good question! Yes they could shoot from prone (or supine or fetal). That does reduce mobility though and since this is a movement drill, as opposed to a "how to use cover drill", they opted for mobility.

    Thanks for watching!

  • I love flanking people, spliting up the group in two, with non live ammo of course.

  • Why with "non live ammo"?

  • because i usually train force on force.

  • Maybe one day you can use real bullets.

  • I figured. After I posted the comment I felt like such a squid (newbie) should have known better. All that blazzn gets my blood going!! LOL But thanks!

  • Don't worry. We were all new at one time!

  • Ques: Is this the first time these to worked together? It seems like suppressive fires drop off significantly after they yell "moving" The guy with police vest has slow reloads so it is more apparent with the other guy in green. By the time moving is yelled his mag is nearly empty and suppression is very low. And the ground hog popping up and looking over top of barrel stoppit

I helped work up the original FAST companies for USMC in 80s and did Cadre for MSF and training was much different.

  • They had never met each other prior to this two day class. We get a lot done in two days and most other school's classes don't cover team work in a 5 day class.

  • How come you're not using 14.5" barrels?

  • I am not sure why you are asking that. Is something wrong with a 16" barrel?

  • no just they're kinda long

  • what sling is that?

  • I was taught to not smack the bottom of the mag when seating it. "This is the army, Not hollywood" lol, straight from my sargent. Apparently it can bend the lips at the top of the mag and cause stoppages...

  • Sorry your Sgt was an idiot. The feed lips don't hit anything when you smack the magazine.

  • lol cool. He was an idiot, he told everyone on my course its not a video game and it not hollywood and shit like that. he also told us not to hit the back of the magazine when loading it to make sure the rounds are seated properly. lol

  • OH BURN !!!!

    nice one!

  • howthe hel do you make sure its properly seated then? its not going to hurt anything.

  • What type of Carrier is that ? the guy in green?

  • Not sure, sorry.

  • hey, when that dude with the helmet reloads he's got his head sticking up from behind the drum, not exactly concelaing himself and also not keeping an eye on the target. Isnt that kinda dangerous in a real life situation? Or is the focus here squarely on teamwork? (serious question)

  • Baby steps...

  • It would have been nice if there was more of this demonstration type stuff on your "Fighting Rifle" DVD (maybe in the extras). I also would have liked to see some AK47 demonstrations. That's mainly why I bought the DVD. Some good stuff though. I look forward to seeing what you put out in the future. Thanks.

    ~Much Love

  • may i ask why they are moving with muzzle up instead of muzzle down?? (genuine question)

  • Because "up" is safer than "down" when doing teamwork or around small children.

  • ya i work around small children and i have never shot one because i do it muzzle up.

  • lmao

  • So they don't flag each others world. WORLD!!!

  • Whats with the slow slow slow walking?

  • This drill is about being smooth, team work and communication.

  • Slow is smooth, smooth is fast.

  • "What's with" - are you some sort of hack online weapons comedian? What's with airline food? Stop wasting J. Yeagers time so more warriors can be trained.

  • do you guys train with AKs too?

  • We sure do. We even have semi and full-auto ones for rent.

  • jammed rifle at 0:40, that's where the AK 47's come in with a hail of bullets

  • And it should be noted those bullets are more effective on humans. =]

  • In that case it should also be noted that shot placement is far more important than what round you're sending down range.

  • That depends on the type of bullet and where it strikes. Often an AK47 round will not begin to yaw or tumble through the target until it passes through a significant amount of flesh/matter. So it can just poke a hole like a .223 will if it lacks the speed to tumble/fragment. Lots of variables!

  • Question: where was this class held? That sorta looked like the range in Grande Prarie, Alberta.

Get to a Tactical Response class! I've been to two and they both rocked!

  • That's the one.

  • That M4 is sick, and are those red dot sights you both have? Awesome man, I want!

  • kool

  • Looks like a fun drill. I took a TR pistol class and I can attest that you will learn a lot. I have been shooting for years, including some competition, and I still picked up a lot of stuff. Also useful is the system they teach. Even if you are pretty good shooter the structure they teach is very useful.

  • very good drills.

  • Bad-ass. Definitely going to attend sometime.

  • great video! I like his The Fast and The Furious strap pad, too, heh.

  • hi from the uk, nice video just going throught the rest of them . all the best Shoot safe Rich

  • The mags are not empty.

  • You guys would bring the house down equipped with a FAST System. Type in stractech under search. Great teamwork regardless. God bless.

  • This man tells the truth. That FAST mag system+Yeager operator training would be a simply unstoppable tactical platform.

  • Maybe someone can answer this for me. Why is one of the shooters putting his spent magazines into a pouch? I always practice by letting empty magazines fall to the group and getting a new one in as fast as possible. Who cares about an empty mag

  • The main point here: one fires at the target at the time keeping it controlled while the other moves and reloades, this is like a scaled down contact drill. It was developed for ranger teams pulling out from fire fights behind enemy lines, they carry all their gear and when safely extracted they have to reload their magazines for a possible next encounter.

  • this technique is also called leap frogging developed by SEAL teams not rangers, they just changed the name up, but other then that your correct on every thing else.

  • Although I have nothing but admiration for Rangers as well as SEALs you have to go much further back in history to see the origins of this tactic.

  • lemme join!
