My family has a lot of land in Brazil and we used to have a problem with vampire bats. Fortunately, we found a way to solve it. We would leave an animal in the open as bait, then hang large nylon nets around it. When a bat got caught in the net, we would smear it all over with a slow-acting but deadly poison gel. Then we released the bat and it flew back to its colony. Inevitably, he would up rub on a couple dozen...

...of his friends and smear the poison on them. Then the bats would clean themselves by licking their furs, like cats. Forty-eight hours later they would all be dead. We have not had an animal attacked in years.
