Ok, the least these people could do would be to make this more believable by reseaching the Amish and getting the costumes correct! Amish women do not wear scarves on their heads! They wear caps and the clothes were all wrong too! They hair was wrong and they DO NOT wear makeup! It would've been much funnier if those details were perfect!

and of course it's just a parody, and they skimped on a few details. If Jacob is a married man, he will wear a beard, but never a moustache. (custom goes back to Civil War--soldiers had moustaches, so did Lincoln, so the Amish man shaves his upper lip (bet some of them do not even know why). Also, the woman's dress will always have a cape (additional fabric piece on the front), to cover any resemblance of female breasts. Finally, only SOLID colors. no plaid (as in the spinning sequence)

Of course, It's not "accurate", but the humor is a parody of "The Real Housewives" poer Bravo TV (Amish don't have TV, of course. I grew up in NE Lancaster County. Some of the key lines are dead on: "Hannah, Don't Gossip" !!!

(a sin)...and never waste ANYTHING...a virtue..And finally, th Annie character, tho humorous, is a sad reminder to me that the inter-marriage within the Amish community has resulted in a higher than expected number of cases of dwarfism, and schizophrenia.
