I couldn't tell you whether or not taxpayer money was spent on this project. I intend no offense, but what qualifies you to determine the benefit and purpose of this device. I am a US Citizen who happened to take advantage of the opportunity to train at the Richmond Olympic Oval and happened to see this device in use after my training sessions in the early AM. I never had the opportunity to utilize the accelerator, but would've loved the chance.
Thats got to be one of the dumbest inventions ever....I hope taxpayer money wasn't used for this piece of junk. How bout you practice getting to top speed by skating......
