Most of the ants died. However a few escaped. Most notably a couple, the male ant died helping the female ant escape the fire. Years later (in ant years) the female ant told her story. She when to the pile of asses and tossed a large valuable stone into the ashes.
While the stone was large and valuable to the ants, to me it is just another piece of dust so I never bothered to try and find it.
