@tmotofga Oh give me a break. Looking at a black person in a way he doesn't like gets you labeled as a racist, and no amount of coddling is going to change that. The ONLY way I could avoid the racist label is to never disagree with or suggest anything negative of black people. Since I'm going to be labeled a racist by way of my opinions regardless of any other factors, then there is no reason to avoid language like that. Label away. I'll still convince whites to stop feeling sorry for blacks.

@kkilo34 Are you aware that average household incomes for white people in America is just a little over $50,000 a year? Now mind you, this is HOUSEHOLD income. Of course it is lower for blacks but it's also a fact that a black "household" is more than likely to consist of just ONE working adult whereas a white "household" more often has 2. My 20 year black old son already earns FAR more than the average white with a doctorate degree in America operating a simple business that I taught him.

Every black man that does what it takes to succeed by way of his (or her) own determination, hard work, and talents proves that attitudes and behavior really are the primary determinant of success and that discrimination, real or not, will not stop a determined black person from succeeding. Why do black people hand whites so much power over them that they believe we could, even if we wanted, stop a black person from succeeding?

@kkilo34 Well I agree with you wholeheartedly on that note. However, I suspect that you DO have some deep seated racial animus against blacks. You may not ...and I won't make such a judgment at this juncture. You and I do have a similar message but it is difficult not to take some of your cynicism as bigoted. It occasionally comes across that way. However, I'm more inclined to believe that you're perhaps even less cynical than I, it's just that since I'm black it may not come across as harshly.

Is it possible to criticize certain trends in the black community within a larger discussion on race issues, involving what I consider to be the racial scapegoating of whites, without being bigoted? If so, then yeah, you would see me as bigoted. But I'm quite well aware that the trends I criticize are not representative of all blacks nor inherent in their "race."

However, they are widespread enough to warrant attention, and they are offensive enough to warrant honest, unrestrained condemnation. If you consider that bigoted, then you will believe me to be bigoted. I do not consider that bigotry, so I will say that I'm not a bigot. I also don't care if anyone thinks I am and many do.
