ok so i just got the game and i wont to to the trainning misions and everytime when i go over to the aircraft handling and over to the first one on the aircraft handling and i press the commit button and the takeoff button and the screen takes me back to window and what im i doing wrong can some one help me with the probly?

Returning back to the carrier for reload and taking off again, well, I get the feeling of a "broken" game sometimes, cuz there are way too many bugs, unfortunately. It's like the crewmen are made there to work only once during the first take off. And when rollin on deck, you always hit them and they "flip", lol.

By simply being intrested on something, for example A Hornet, If you have ever before flied with it, you should be at least little bit familiar with it as how it works. By putting this simple, the Super Hornet is basically same as F-18c, but it has more advanced weapon and radar systems. Also it can carry more equipment. If you got some problem, shoot!
Just so you know. I don't have manual for this game either. My first realistic type of Hornet game was Empire Interactive's "F-18 3.0" After that, I have played almost every F-18 based flighsim there is. So when I jumped on 'teh F-18E's pilot seat, I felt like I was at home :P
You mean the game closes itself? If so, try using compatibility mode. If you have Vista I don't know then. I need to test it myself on my Laptop when I get the time.
game makers used to concentrate on details, not shadows and how good your shoe looke when you look down like they do nowdays in the "nextgen" games. that doesent give you a more realistic feeling than this does
I worked for DI as a programmer for 5 years, working on Super Hornet for the last year or so of development. It was hard work getting it finished, but I have many fond memories of those times and met some good people. I really enjoyed the game, loved doing the carrier landings during testing!

Some of us (myself included) stayed right to the end which was around mid-2004. I left the games industry entirely shortly after, but some of the team are still working in games to this day

Not to keen on the textures and the takeoff looks a lil rocket like, but I do like the animation of the "shooters"!!

I have this game and it is the best modern combat Flight Sim I ever played, it is as good as Falcon 4.0, just a couple of years older.
The carrier ops in this game are the best!
