And here it is 3 years later and Kenyan native Obama still hasn't raised taxes on the rich (his self included because he also is rich). Republicrats (neo-cons/neo-libs) are the problem. They are the Genovese's and the Gambino's yet they pretend they work for us.
Palin is so stupid using the propoganda buzz word, socialism. FYI Palin, fire stations, libraries, recreation centers, parks and other such public entities are socialism. Why are people so stupid in their black and white thinking? Just saying the word socialism to the uned. and they cheer and clap like uniformed tards. And speaking of educ. our sucks and that's why the citizenry is so gullible to this party divide where the elite run off with the loot while we're all divided by parties. Stupid
Is there really an ethical and moral basis for stealing labor from someone, and then using your own judgement to decide how to redistribute your loot?
Did you just us the words Neocon and free market in the same sentance? This video just said that george bush nationalized banks. How is that free market? If you seriously think you can fix a recession by moving money around, you are a retard. You need to correct the real problems, like the Fed, business regulations, complicated tax laws. End the war, make all drugs legal, get rid of the FDA because it kills more people than it has saved. Allow the banks to fail, fuck those rich assholes.
Randy Shaw: "Why would you vote for someone who isnt going to give you free gifts from the government, stolen by others?" What a FUCKTIT. Maybe because people believe in self reliance and individual freedom? Self reliance promotes individual liberty and self worth. Reliance on government promotes un-achiever, lazy, criminals and dumbass fucking leeches. This Randy Shaw asshole is a real piece of work. Fucking pussies want to rely on government. Real men get the fuck up and work or go to school.
Both U.S Presidential candidates intend to redistribute the wealth. The only difference is McCaine want's to distribute upwards towards the extremely rich...exactly what Bush did by taxing the poor and working class, more per capita than the wealthy.
America has been a true paradise of Socialism during George Bush, Socialism for the ultra-rich. Where huge corporate profits are privatized, and losses are nationalized. Wall-Street is a Las Vegas where the rich end up winning every time.
Oh shut the fuck up Gonzo. People EARN their money. It is WRONG to take wealth from people who earn it and give it to those who dont. The RealNews network is run by a bunch of left wing dumbfucks.
Democrats support racial quotas and affirmative action and tend to group one ethnicity and another and use them as an advantage by promising them more rights than another. The democrats are hardly supportive of equal opportunities.
@GonzoTheGreat3000 I dont think what you are saying is very truthful, the republicans support the idea that you keep what you earn if you wish to give your money to others that is fine but the government should not do that for you.
The dem's support spreading the wealth so you could sit on your butt all day and i work hard but you still make the same amount of money, therefore no one would work hard to get anything because it wouldnt matter if you were working hard it would be spread around
@flanmanflannery Repugblicans take away our money and blow it on wars rather entitlement programs that we also can't afford. Either way, we the people don't ever get what we want. Both parties are against the people. They play the good cop/bad cop routine every few years to keep all of us thinking they have a say, but corporations run both of them and they get what they want.
And what did Obama do? he gave all that money to the rich. And the poor are so stupid they believe Obama is a socialist because he's accuse of being a socialist by the complicit right.
Man you people just feed right into that propaganda: "Tax breaks for the rich". Why don't you understand that tax breaks are given to, well, people that PAY TAXES. I'm sorry if Tyrone doesn't get a hefty little tax break to furnish his government home with, but he didn't put any taxes in. Tell me, why should he get a return on something he did not pay?
And that leads me to my next question...why won't republicans say what I just pointed out in a debate? WTB Good republican candidate pls...
Sigh, there's no point in refuting idiots on youtube but I will anyway. "Brilliant words?" Are you serious? You must be poor and lazy. This Shaw guy is an idiot. If you have ever read the constitution you will see that we are deviating so far that we are no longer the Federalism we are supposed to be. McCain isn't better, and I actually voted Obama, but seriously, I am surprised there has been no uproar over this statement. I guess everyone thinks that more wealth will come to them, which iswrong
Hmmm, The Mccain camp is hippocritical. It turns out Sarah Palin has NO problem WHATSOEVER spreading wealth in Alaska. So she is a socialist, which makes MCCAIN-PALIN ticket socialist too. Have a nice day.
to think about it... Both Obama and McCain believe in spreading the wealth, IN WALL STREET! They both voted for the bailout! Bye bye retirement.. Please America, Vote third party.. Lets return to our Constitution
This "news network" is so biased.. "the future depends on knowing"!? oh please.. you mean "the future depends on propaganda news telling you what to think and who to vote"!
McCain supported the bail out, is for a health care plan for people who can't afford it, and wants to buy up mortgages for people who can't afford them, all paid for by our taxes. How is this not spreading the wealth?
At least Obama is telling the truth.
I guess McCain just likes lying to America...and his first wife...and his second wife.
LOL when the common little guy is paying over a trillion dollars to bail out the big wigs an wall street and make sure they get their million dollar bonuses Mccain says nothing!
But when it is proposed to work the other way Mccain is deeply insulted and cries like a bitch!
McCain/Palin want to spread the wealth only to the filthiest Rich and Wealtiest 5% of Americans..... and hope some of it trickles down to the rest of us.....
THey only believe in socialism for Wall Street, and a fre markt for the rest of us...
McThief 'Spread the Debt Around' should look into the mirror, whose cronies have silently & repetitively gutted life savings & retirement accounts of poor peoples through such mechanisms as: Enron.....Keating-S&L......Wall Street Casino Bailout. They privatize their profits & SOCIAL THEIR LOSSES. The psychosis of the criminal is then projected onto the poor victim, with the added blessing, "your on your own."
The only people who should fear Obama is the working middle class--whether democrat, republican, or independent. Businesses will offset higher taxes and costs of mandatory healthcare by raising prices, hiring illegals, shipping jobs overseas, or cutting jobs. Once again, those on fixed income will be stuck with the bill for spreading the wealth. Have people forgotten who ended up paying for the no money down housing from Fannie Mae? There are no free pies!!!
Henry Ford had it right when he supported spreading the wealth.
He was critized by the heads of other corporations who argued that he was paying his workers too much & that was causing them to sometimes have to raise their wages & he should stop providing his workers with free health care.
Henry Ford replied, "Then who will buy my cars?"
Bush has re-distributed much wealth in this country to the top 5% (and that's why 3rd world countries don't advance).
Brilliant words. I am surprised most Americans don't get this. The wealthy try to hold on to as much money as possible and will pay nothing in wages and health care if they could get away with it which kills the idea of the trickle down theory. Now I understand the joke: If you are not a millionair and vote republican you must be a red neck. People can be mislead is why our founders created a republic not a democracy. I can't believe how foolish the masses can be.
How about everyone is charged the same percentage for taxes? That way you don't reward the poor and punish the rich. It is not a crime to have surplus and poor can be greedy too.
Also, whenever you cut taxes, you increase government tax revenue. Experience tells us this. Even your democratic candidates admit it. So why raise taxes? For "fairness" as Obama has literally said. I say to cut back what drives capitalism, competition and put us in economic crap.
considering that the rich caused this economic crysis I think they should share the burden of the average american is it really gonna kill them to only have 6 house's instead of 7 because they payed more on taxes in the country that let them get rich in the first place.
The rich caused this? I'm sorry but I think the people who bought houses they knew they couldn't afford have a little to blame too. But the banks shouldn't have given the loans in the first place, I agree with that. But should we reward the banks by bailing them out? My aunt bought a corner grocery store for 25k. If she makes bad business decisions, will she get bailed out? NO! If you want equality of opportunity, let the rich become poor on their own. Don't let the gov keep them there.
I don't support the bailout at all and was caused these loans were high interest rates that people that were taking loan's on houses and were told by lending company's and banks that they could refinance for lower interest rates which was a lie. This caused people to get into severe debt which caused this crash.
Corporate greed is the reason and those people should be held accountable for there actions.
@freakawill2000 i think every one will be punished let the banks fail who gave loans to people they knew could not afford them, let the people who took out the loans fail and have bad credit. That will punish them Instead of bailing these companies out let them fail, if we dont let them fail they will never be afraid to mess up because if they do they will just get bailed out again
the rich had nothing to do with the economic crash, people who had no money tried to buy houses that they couldn't afford, rich people can totally afford their houses.
The funny thing is was that congress passed the Reinvestment Act during the Clinton Administration to help homeowners. This led to the economic crash right now. I think it's funny how people still think government can solve our problems.
Theres no real difference in either one and that's the point of control at the very top!! They both supported the bailout. They both supported the illegal spying FISA bill. They both support the thought crime bill 1955 Terrorist prevention act. They both support
the Bogus "War on Terrorism" They both support the illegal Eastern wars except Obama
makes sure to include more troops in Afghanistan and mentions invading Pakistan which of course are in the Neocon PNAC plans. Quite being fooled!!
So people who are wealthy and got this wealth in USA and now they complain about giving a bit more back to the same country which allowed them to become rich in the first place?
Is increase 36 to 39 that much difference?
That doesnt make Obama socialist at all (not there is anything wrong with socialism in the first place, USA has lots of socialist ideas working even today).
I cant believe how many people rely on someone's opinion without looking for information to form one of their own.
70% taxes currently collected by the government is collected from these wealthy individuals. These wealthy individuals are the ones who create our jobs, invest in our country and communities. It may not seem like a huge increase to you, but it will to the person who may lose their job because the company has to find a way to recover the lost capital or the family who will not see any additional income from the raise the employee would have received.
WRONG!!! Wealthy individuals, and corporations, are driven by profit and profit only. If it is profitable to ship jobs overseas (as often is the case) then they will do it. "Trickle down economics" is a myth perpetrated by the rich. And is it working??? Theses people only care about money, not investing in our communities (education? healthcare?) or creating jobs.
Really, who do you work for? Corporations move overseas because the United States has the 2nd highest corporate tax system in the world. Of course all businesses are based upon profit --if not they would not be in business. --that profit goes to the shareholders first, the employees, business expansion. Research how much money these large corporations put back into our economy and communities -you would be surprised.
And you know what else even if these wealthy people and corporations were just about the money and did not care for other people it would not matter. IT IS THEIR MONEY AND THEY SHOULD GET TO DECIDE HOW IT SHOULD BE SPENT
Oh not another one of these arguments. If we follow in those footsteps, then you can do anything you want and say "it doesnt matter, its my life and this is what i want to do!"
This country is also democratic as far as i remember and majority rules.
95% of people will benefit from Obama being the president and I am fine with that.
95% of people will not benefit from Obama. That $500 to $1000 check will not mean a thing to the people who lose their jobs because of it. Bush is not running for election so, I think your worries about that can be squelched.
Are you serious? or just stupid? If you examine the two candiates plans McCain's plan is the one that will not benefit the 95% you speak of. Obama's plan will help "All" those earning less than $169,480 would see tax cuts and those taxpayers earning around $32,000 in taxable income would get a $502 tax cut under Obama's plan. McCain's plan, by contrast, would leave that person's taxes unchanged and tax their health insurance which will result in job loses for sm. business cutting corners.
Everyone's taxes will go up under Obama's plan. Obama not only wants to reverse Bush's tax cuts back to the rates under Clinton's administration -Obama then will increase tax rates 3% to 6% or more. That would put the some taxes near 50%. Do you think it is fair to take half of someone's income? Do you not see how taking half of someone's income will hurt our economy? How many people will lose their jobs?
Were are your sources coming from? 50% of a income loss is financial murder and I'm pretty sure if you were right John McStupid would have brought it up by now.
Obama has stated if he is elected he will repeal Bush's tax cuts back to the rate under the Clinton Administration. For example: Under Clinton a single person making 30K was taxed $8400, while under Bush the same person was taxed $4500. Now this does not take into consideration deductions one may take on their tax return, because that would vary from person to person. It does clearly show however, that everyone's taxes are going to go up.
Palin is tougher then McCain & Obama. I hope she does win the campaign. She won't put up with any foreign threats either. Obama will give our country away. I'd rather have another one like Bush then Clinton, please...
The tax burden on the rich is twice as much as it was in the 1980's. The Arthur Laffer curve says that once you get past a certain % of taxation your revenues will actually go down. I think we are very close that % for the higher tax bracket. There should be a flat tax, it is the only fair way. By the way I am not a Republican millionare and I desperately want our country to cut spending.
Inflation is cheating us all, because we earn more, can't buy as much, and are pushed into a higher tax bracket. FDIC is still just $100K. Given the devaluation of the dollar, it should be $1M.
PS: who's that idiot talking at the end? Randy Shaw? "cutting spending is not what the people want." Well Im not a republican millionaire but I do want gov. to stop spending/wasting our money all over the world! He asks what are u offering? it used to be 2 chickens in every pot. well i dont want stupid gov chickens, they should be offering some transparency, some honesty, some responsibility, some restrain, some common sense, some humility and some goddamn freedom from a powerhungry government.
i thought 'Real News' would be a bit more impartial, this and other videos have been clear hits on mccain. Now i dont support that damn neocon. But I do notice the leftist bias over here. All Im saying is; where is the obama hit piece? No video has been devoted entirely to criticizing obama, unlike the many i've seen criticizing mccain/palin. I come here to get away from the obama-loving on most major networks and the unfounded obama-bashing at fox, i want Real criticisim of both not just mccain
I worked 70+ hour weeks last year for an average pay of $1/hour. Why would I be bothered that people like John McCain have one or two less houses so I can afford to buy some food.
Right now, the wealth is redistributed, in a direction McCain would continue and extend. The wealth is spread from bottom to top, and all the lower and middle class people cheering to keep that direction are cheering for themselves to be exploited.
Boodleboy is right, I think. People in the U.S. (and Europe too) believe to be rich or believe to become rich one day. Somehow no one wants to accept to be part of the exploited lower class. Everybody believes to be a movie star. The lower class has forgotten to vote in their own interests.
The upper class on the other hand is very well aware of their interests.
To fight for your very own class interest is not class warfare or socialism - its democracy.
Our problem is that the very rich media and our very rich politicians are trying to control our thoughts by vilifying the rich in our country. When in fact it is the RICH that set this country apart from the world. There are some bad guys who make headlines, but what about the others that have invented something, or work their tails off to start a company where they are providing high paying jobs? WE SHOULD EMBRACE THE RICH PEOPLE in our country and punish and vilify the criminal rich only.
By your logic monarchy and aristocracy would be a great thing. It where the rich kings and counts and aristocrats that gave jobs to their bondmen, servants and slaves. Thats why servants had to be gratefull and obedient to their masters rule.
Until, one day, something happened - the american and french revolution and the declaration of independence.
CoffeeMann- So by your rationale, if someone decides to start their own business or work their way up the ladder, working at least 12 hours a day, getting little sleep, going to school to better themselves, spending time away form their families, having the stress that goes along with all this activity... Should be told they have to pay more??? So they finally make it to a point where they are making a nice living only to be told they make too much and must give their money to everyone else?
And cutting spending in DC will help ease our taxes. Our politicians if they are forced to spend less will spend less time trying to figure out how to get into our pockets. And Finland and Sweden seem to be doing just fine?? That is very weak. Folks in the USA are doing MORE than fine. Very few people are actually suffering. They may not be rich but we are FAR from suffering, and most of us don't know what it is to truly SUFFER.
Well, if you would look countries like Sweden or Finland. These small countries where wealth has been spread around are doing just fine. It depends what you are getting from your taxes. For me it seems that in US you spread your wealth to Iraq and rich bankers.
I'm not a Republican Millionaire and I want my government to cut spending. I want them to cut spending dramatically. Why is this expose only interviewing ultra liberals. Seems the point they're trying to make is a bit one sided.
We all pay TOO MUCH in taxes, way too much. We all must FORCE our reps in DC to STOP SPENDING!!! You have to vote out the pork. If Obama gets in oh it will be a spend city. We need checks and balances so having a liberal president and congress is NOT good.
dylanofwomen-Incorrect, the checks and balances system also keeps in line spending, and therefore money. Think about what would have happened if the president did not want the Bailout and Congress did. Veto power.
Gosh, I hope you were kidding because if not you are missing a fundamental activity of the checks and balances system in our government.
i was kidding, but you forgot to mention that the entire concept of the treasury was put in power by the executive branch, Hamilton used implied powers of the constitution and strengthened the federal government, it was already being setup prior to congress voting it in.
P.S. the bailout was unconstitutional (yeah i know necessary and proper) But if you read the document...section 8 contains would put the Treasury Secretary above the law, subject to no review by any court or agency.
dylanofwomen-Gotcha... and I for one HATED the bailout.
You sound like a very interested person, you should read (if you have not) The Creature from Jekyll Island. It is UNREAL how it explains exactly what we are going through now. I have read some of it before and are now re-reading it!
i have not read that book, yet i am very informed on international bankers writing and setting up the FED. one thing you might be interested in is Modern Money Mechanics, published by the FED in 1953, it outlines money creation, interest and inflation...
The rich and corporate america pay tax, but seldom does that tax come completely out of their pocket. Generally they pass it on to the customer in the form of fees, cost of business increases, etc. They have people, the power and the smarts to pass it down or hide profit. As much as I DISLIKE most of Corporate American they are the last people I want to see get a tax hike, because us little guys on BOTH sides of the aisle will eat it. Best policy, NO NEW TAXES & TAX REDUCTIONS FOR ALL.
Liberals don't understand that there are 2 levels of liberals... the high level and low level. And the high just wants to keep the low level near the low. Give them a freebie here, a freebie there and we have them under control. They don't realize the hand they hold is the hand that is and will be holding them down. Taxes are a restriction on EVERYONE, no matter who is getting taxed, it is trickle down and it always will be. Taxes on the rich are usually paid by us little guys...trickle down.
We pay too high taxes in America! The big wigs can excape and the middle class get the stick. Other contries like Iran and Saudi Arabia don't even have taxes. They seem to do just fine. We can fund the government by nationalizing national resources and providing services like water and taxing Super business profits and Mega Salaries of CEOs of companies that do business in America regardless of if they claim to be located.
Tht the problem,mc wnt spread the wealth if we vote 4 h.All other viewpoints aside, some of us truly do work our a off,& r still living paycheck 2 paycheck. We dnt have the ability 2 put our money away bc our last dimes r going 4 our kids clothes/school supplies,or 2 pay our house/car insurance. So I say, either the wealthy who have 7 houses when they only need 1-2 should spread their wealth around,or minimum wage should be raised 2 @ LEAST $20 per hour.Stop being stingy & share with the rest of us.
Yes - let's cut the capital gains tax. That'll definitely help the general population.
It really bothers me that the neocons go around characterizing the Democratic platform as "raising taxes". It's not "raising taxes" - it's raising taxes on the highest income bracket. "Raising taxes", according to adjective scope parameters in the English language, means raising taxes on ALL income brackets.
Similarly, McCain talks about "cutting taxes", but would only do so for that top bracket.
The problem that many don't seem to realize is that raising the tax on anyone will effect those of us that live within our means. It will raise the price of everything we buy. For ex. when you buy gas, there is a percentage of that which goes to tax, some states more some less. But increasing taxes on Oil companies will cost us more at the pump, the same with any industry. And let's face it, the rich did not get where they are by absorbing fees and taxes, those ALWAYS trickle down to consumers.
Unless you're one of those middle class retards who buys designer clothing and expensive cars, the price increases in goods that directly result from raising the taxes on the top bracket WILL NOT effect you.
Further, raising corporate taxes will only further tax companies that can't afford good lawyers - oil companies don't fall into this category.
That video really bothered me because of the amount of things I disagreed with.
1) Obama's tax plan is not spreading the wealth. In my opinion, it was a speaking error. Increases the taxes on the wealthy, and lowering the taxes on the middle class will not spread the wealth to the socialistic point McCain and Palin are making it out to be.
2) McCain's policy of cutting spending has nothing to do with what the people want. He is cutting the unecessary spending that affects us maliciously.
bushputz: that same thing happens here in Canada, my city for example keeps selecting parliamentarians who keep hurting our core industry(manufacturing). People are quite ignorant when it comes to politics, this is the main problem with "representative democracy".
I don't get it. Every last person at the McCain/Palin rallies would be hurt by his policies. Do you think any of the uber-rich that benefit from his tax cut proposals would be caught dead rubbing elbows with the commoners?
How do you grow the economy? Trickle-down doesn't' work. Give more money to the rich and they'll save it or invest off shore. Give to to the masses, and you will create new small businesses, because their customers will have money to spend.
So what is Palin/McCain spreading? Ha! Ha! LOL! You know what. They spread crap.
Sarah Palin is an officer in the class war of the rich against the rest. Palin is advocating spreading the wealth just as much as every politician. The only question is where is it spread? Palin spreads it to the wealthy owners of the military industrial complex and her oil friends.
capitalism is about competition for money, that means that somebody will always live in poverty due to the basis of the system... there is simply not enough money in circulation to possibly end poverty, the system is designed that way, if all money comes from banks through loans (with interest), where does the money to pay back the interest come from, nowhere, it doesn't exist. that means that once the money is distributed, it has debt automatically attached to it forcing the poor to stay poor
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Oh yes! Heil New World Odour! Lets all have microchips then. BTW, thats what Luciferian Theosophical Society, UN, Zeitshite, international banksters and a bunch of other scumbags call for. Resource distribution = communism, and trust me it NEVER works.
These complaints of the GOP about not spreading the wealth around is such a load of crap. The GOP supports this idea but the big difference in their case it is spread UP. The rich get the majority of the money while everyone else is feed a few tax rebate checks once in awhile to keep them bottom feeding in the delusion of becoming wealthy like them.
I am not a Republicain millionaire and I want to see Government spending cut. so, why is it agine wrong to cut spending and balance the budget? If I spend more than I make I go broke befor my bills are payed....so why is it wrong headed to cut spending? and this lowering taxes sounds good but how the fuck are you going to pay for all this new spending? oh my bad you just want to spread the "debet" around so our grandkids kids will pay for it. no thanx Nader08! fuck you very much.
Thank you so much for this video. But this is class warfare. Sometimes class warfare is good! The middle class have sided with the rich since the Reagan revolution. Now we need to go the other way without apology. If valueing work over wealth is socialism then socialism is what we need.
Americans have an irrational fear of socialism. Somehow, they've come to understand that socialism means fascist communism. They're afraid of their lives being dictated, so really they're afraid of the fascist aspect, but they illogically believe that the socialist aspect is evil and unthinkable instead. Ironically, especially since Bush has been in office, the U.S. has gradually moved closer to fascism. When the power is shifted to the people, socialism works, and a country prospers.
It's time to invest in the people. No more corporate welfare. No more making money on people's health. Enact a living wage. No more military industrial complex. I'm tired of irrational fears and the spineless Democrats. Vote Nader/Gonzalez!
That depends on what programs you cut. If it's military or domestic spying, I agree. But if you're thinking of cutting education or healthcare I would have to disagree. Plus, we need to start taxing the rich. They have been sailing free for years now. It's about time they start chipping in.
like Colin Powell said, every tax system is a form of redistributing wealth. the difference is republicans want it only redistributed upwards while the democrats want to give you a few crumbs off the corporate table.
I'm from Norway, we have been spreading the wealth around since the sixties, and now we are the richest country on earth. We have free healthcare paid by taxes and as a result the people are happy and we have time and energy to try to spread peace around the world with the nobel price as well as the wealth. Look to Norway, as famously Roosevelt said.
The issue is weather the government should be stepping in and implementing this.
Ideally, all the money that US billionaires give to dubious charities over-seas should be reinvesting it in the US. That would be wealth redistribution without government intervention.
My guess however is that that's unlikely. It's more stylish and guilt-abating to build a school in Cameroon than it is to build one here.
Thankfully the rich are a minority and thus votes also. Seriously if Obama doesn't win in a landslide then the voting system was compromised as per Bush 2004, again.
What's wrong with SOCIALISM?

Both parties are against the people. They play the good cop/bad cop routine every few years to keep all of us thinking they have a say, but corporations run both of them and they get what they want.

DillonX 3 years ago 2
Brilliant words. I am surprised most Americans don't get this. The wealthy try to hold on to as much money as possible and will pay nothing in wages and health care if they could get away with it which kills the idea of the trickle down theory. Now I understand the joke: If you are not a millionair and vote republican you must be a red neck. People can be mislead is why our founders created a republic not a democracy. I can't believe how foolish the masses can be.
16sag7 3 years ago
How about everyone is charged the same percentage for taxes? That way you don't reward the poor and punish the rich. It is not a crime to have surplus and poor can be greedy too.
Also, whenever you cut taxes, you increase government tax revenue. Experience tells us this. Even your democratic candidates admit it. So why raise taxes? For "fairness" as Obama has literally said. I say to cut back what drives capitalism, competition and put us in economic crap.
freakawill2000 3 years ago
considering that the rich caused this economic crysis I think they should share the burden of the average american is it really gonna kill them to only have 6 house's instead of 7 because they payed more on taxes in the country that let them get rich in the first place.
AlphaWolfChaos 3 years ago
The rich caused this? I'm sorry but I think the people who bought houses they knew they couldn't afford have a little to blame too. But the banks shouldn't have given the loans in the first place, I agree with that. But should we reward the banks by bailing them out? My aunt bought a corner grocery store for 25k. If she makes bad business decisions, will she get bailed out? NO! If you want equality of opportunity, let the rich become poor on their own. Don't let the gov keep them there.
freakawill2000 3 years ago 2
I don't support the bailout at all and was caused these loans were high interest rates that people that were taking loan's on houses and were told by lending company's and banks that they could refinance for lower interest rates which was a lie. This caused people to get into severe debt which caused this crash.
Corporate greed is the reason and those people should be held accountable for there actions.
AlphaWolfChaos 3 years ago
As long as we also punish the idiots for accpeting the loans while we punish the idiots who let them borrow the money, I'm fine with that.
freakawill2000 3 years ago
@freakawill2000 i think every one will be punished let the banks fail who gave loans to people they knew could not afford them, let the people who took out the loans fail and have bad credit. That will punish them Instead of bailing these companies out let them fail, if we dont let them fail they will never be afraid to mess up because if they do they will just get bailed out again

So people who are wealthy and got this wealth in USA and now they complain about giving a bit more back to the same country which allowed them to become rich in the first place?

That doesnt make Obama socialist at all (not there is anything wrong with socialism in the first place, USA has lots of socialist ideas working even today).
I cant believe how many people rely on someone's opinion without looking for information to form one of their own.
pidjunk 3 years ago 2
70% taxes currently collected by the government is collected from these wealthy individuals. These wealthy individuals are the ones who create our jobs, invest in our country and communities. It may not seem like a huge increase to you, but it will to the person who may lose their job because the company has to find a way to recover the lost capital or the family who will not see any additional income from the raise the employee would have received.
NCforMcCain 3 years ago
Tman222 3 years ago
Really, who do you work for? Corporations move overseas because the United States has the 2nd highest corporate tax system in the world. Of course all businesses are based upon profit --if not they would not be in business. --that profit goes to the shareholders first, the employees, business expansion. Research how much money these large corporations put back into our economy and communities -you would be surprised.
NCforMcCain 3 years ago
And you know what else even if these wealthy people and corporations were just about the money and did not care for other people it would not matter. IT IS THEIR MONEY AND THEY SHOULD GET TO DECIDE HOW IT SHOULD BE SPENT
NCforMcCain 3 years ago
Oh not another one of these arguments. If we follow in those footsteps, then you can do anything you want and say "it doesnt matter, its my life and this is what i want to do!"
This country is also democratic as far as i remember and majority rules.
95% of people will benefit from Obama being the president and I am fine with that.
I dont want another Bush.
pidjunk 3 years ago
95% of people will not benefit from Obama. That $500 to $1000 check will not mean a thing to the people who lose their jobs because of it. Bush is not running for election so, I think your worries about that can be squelched.
NCforMcCain 3 years ago
Are you serious? or just stupid? If you examine the two candiates plans McCain's plan is the one that will not benefit the 95% you speak of. Obama's plan will help "All" those earning less than $169,480 would see tax cuts and those taxpayers earning around $32,000 in taxable income would get a $502 tax cut under Obama's plan. McCain's plan, by contrast, would leave that person's taxes unchanged and tax their health insurance which will result in job loses for sm. business cutting corners.
jlynwin 3 years ago
Everyone's taxes will go up under Obama's plan. Obama not only wants to reverse Bush's tax cuts back to the rates under Clinton's administration -Obama then will increase tax rates 3% to 6% or more. That would put the some taxes near 50%. Do you think it is fair to take half of someone's income? Do you not see how taking half of someone's income will hurt our economy? How many people will lose their jobs?
NCforMcCain 3 years ago
Were are your sources coming from? 50% of a income loss is financial murder and I'm pretty sure if you were right John McStupid would have brought it up by now.
yogiunlimited1234567 3 years ago
McCain has brought it up. Why do you think he keeps saying how much Obama's tax plan is going to hurt small businesses?
NCforMcCain 3 years ago
Obama has stated if he is elected he will repeal Bush's tax cuts back to the rate under the Clinton Administration. For example: Under Clinton a single person making 30K was taxed $8400, while under Bush the same person was taxed $4500. Now this does not take into consideration deductions one may take on their tax return, because that would vary from person to person. It does clearly show however, that everyone's taxes are going to go up.
NCforMcCain 3 years ago
Palin is tougher then McCain & Obama. I hope she does win the campaign. She won't put up with any foreign threats either. Obama will give our country away. I'd rather have another one like Bush then Clinton, please...

The tax burden on the rich is twice as much as it was in the 1980's. The Arthur Laffer curve says that once you get past a certain % of taxation your revenues will actually go down. By the way I am not a Republican millionare and I desperately want our country to cut spending.

queequegscoffin 3 years ago

WE SHOULD EMBRACE THE RICH PEOPLE in our country and punish and vilify the criminal rich only.
queequegscoffin 3 years ago
By your logic monarchy and aristocracy would be a great thing. It where the rich kings and counts and aristocrats that gave jobs to their bondmen, servants and slaves. Thats why servants had to be gratefull and obedient to their masters rule.
Until, one day, something happened - the american and french revolution and the declaration of independence.
13otany13ay 3 years ago
CoffeeMann- So by your rationale, if someone decides to start their own business or work their way up the ladder, working at least 12 hours a day, getting little sleep, going to school to better themselves, spending time away form their families, having the stress that goes along with all this activity... Should be told they have to pay more??? So they finally make it to a point where they are making a nice living only to be told they make too much and must give their money to everyone else?
queequegscoffin 3 years ago
And cutting spending in DC will help ease our taxes. Our politicians if they are forced to spend less will spend less time trying to figure out how to get into our pockets. And Finland and Sweden seem to be doing just fine?? That is very weak. Folks in the USA are doing MORE than fine. Very few people are actually suffering. They may not be rich but we are FAR from suffering, and most of us don't know what it is to truly SUFFER.
queequegscoffin 3 years ago

queequegscoffin 3 years ago
i was kidding, but you forgot to mention that the entire concept of the treasury was put in power by the executive branch, Hamilton used implied powers of the constitution and strengthened the federal government, it was already being setup prior to congress voting it in.

Taxes are a restriction on EVERYONE, no matter who is getting taxed, it is trickle down and it always will be. Taxes on the rich are usually paid by us little guys...trickle down.

ILoveES33 3 years ago
Yes - let's cut the capital gains tax. That'll definitely help the general population.
It really bothers me that the neocons go around characterizing the Democratic platform as "raising taxes". It's not "raising taxes" - it's raising taxes on the highest income bracket. "Raising taxes", according to adjective scope parameters in the English language, means raising taxes on ALL income brackets.
Similarly, McCain talks about "cutting taxes", but would only do so for that top bracket.
GyrinidaeRex 3 years ago
The problem that many don't seem to realize is that raising the tax on anyone will effect those of us that live within our means. It will raise the price of everything we buy. For ex. when you buy gas, there is a percentage of that which goes to tax, some states more some less. But increasing taxes on Oil companies will cost us more at the pump, the same with any industry. And let's face it, the rich did not get where they are by absorbing fees and taxes, those ALWAYS trickle down to consumers.
queequegscoffin 3 years ago

In WW2 & WW3 Wilson & FDR called on the wealthiest to be patriots & pay more tax.

Spreading the wealth? What do people think we have been doing? Capitalism is a way of spreading the wealth, primarily upward to a small elite class.
klard 3 years ago 6
capitalism is about competition for money, that means that somebody will always live in poverty due to the basis of the system... there is simply not enough money in circulation to possibly end poverty, the system is designed that way, if all money comes from banks through loans (with interest), where does the money to pay back the interest come from, nowhere, it doesn't exist. that means that once the money is distributed, it has debt automatically attached to it forcing the poor to stay poor
dylanofwomen 3 years ago
The only solution is to have a society which does not use money. Everything can be organised on a resource distribution. A family works like that...

And if your English skills are any indication, your education system is probably a dream, too.

More government only breeds more government.

Thankfully the rich are a minority and thus votes also. Seriously if Obama doesn't win in a landslide then the voting system was compromised as per Bush 2004, again.

In the United States, the richest 1 percent of households owns 38 percent of all wealth.
This is the cash stash mccain and the rich elites are trying to hoard from the remaining 99% of Americans.
