It all comes down to what you're trying to do, exactly. If you're just the casual computer user and all you want to do is use the internet and not get viruses, Linux all the way. But if you're trying to run games and other softwares, although Linux can run some of those, you have to be relatively computer savvy to get them working, so Windows is probably your best bet.

That is true, windows does have some good apps. But I can also run angry birds in Ubuntu with wine and other apps. My favorite windows apps are Ccleaner. My favorite apps period is VLC. the most powerful media player bar non. What I don't like about windows are that it is SLOW, it spies on you and has done a very poor job of security. When If people prefer windows fine. I don't.

I started using Ubuntu 2 years ago and think it is better than windows or Os X. You need to find out yourself what you prefer. No virus or spyware, fast boot and appd. As good or better apps and free.

I disagree. Take for example video editors; in that area Linux scores rather weak. The same with image editors; there is only Gimp, the rest is rather weak. As for free; there are a lot of free Windows software out there as well, with the most famous example being Firefox.
