Gingerjake2 - Betty and I have been singing together for over 35 years and I have been playing with both Stan and Betty for at least the last couple of decades. We all especially love this song. How does Stan write a song that sounds like it's been around for 200 years? Mike
@finemc28 Hi Mike - good to hear from you too. Maybe that's the secret. Your voices are like the wood of as guitar & have absorbed each others tones...whatever the reason, you do all make beautiful music together. I'm just so glad Stan shares it with us here.
Gawd that is a beautiful song. Every time I hear it I'm reminded of that. I think the interesting thing to me in this one at least is how your voices all sound like you're related. Usually siblings make good harmonies together. But Mike, while related isn't blood related, yet sounds like he is...just superb guys! Erm, guys & gal! Sorry Betty! =}
yes im back again.. listening for the 3rd time now.. wooohoo.. i was wondering.. as just a random though.. that last bit at the end the guitar does? maybe it be cool if you did this too before you start at the second verse: The captain cried oh my brothers and sisters
God only knows where tomorrow, we'll be.
Memories fade of that distant harbor
They've been there before long long ago
