I prefer the sung choral versions to this particular take, however I have heard a brilliant rock guitar version, just cant remember who by unfortunately. To answer Perfectaim, for me as a creator the differt sound usually comes as a bi product from another motivation, like translating Ukrainian songs to English, or vice versa .A new angle is discovered, or a new take on an old meaning. I don't start by just saying "I want to be different". Sorry if that makes no sense : -)

Efffort at innovation appreciated, but it tries a bit too hard to be different and the initial voices are to layered in effects. They would sound better be further up in the mix with the tune building eariler to hold the listeners attention. You are left with the question: exactly what is this version trying to acheive? For me as a musician/writer listening it acheives nothing in particular other than being different just for being different's sake.
