I've seen this many times and always feel so moved by Daphne's tears. This woman is such a saint to have started this orphanage. The keepers too, such dedication and care.
It shocked me too. I saw vids about their saving this little baby. Baby was fighting very bravely to survive and was growing well each day. Very sad to her sudden dead. Thanks to you guys there for your rescusing and taking very good care of all the elephants, loving them so well. It takes a great heart and big love to do so. Thanks to Daphne too for all your effort and love for all the elephants. I share your grieve.
these keepers are really heroes. it looks all glamorous and fun, playing with the fuzzy babies. but it really takes commitment and dedication and love to push through these heartbreaks. rip ndololo :(
We don't always know the cause of every human death even- so knowing the cause of an elephants death can be even more difficult. Sudden deaths have been known to occur baby elephants in captivity- but more research is needed to know whether this also happens in the wild or not.
A person who cares for animals is one who is truly 'connected' with life.
The world is divided into nations composed of people who in turn are divided by culture, race, religion etc and it seems mankind's sense of identity is bound this type of divisive mindset (always comes down to us versus them). Ironically, the truth is the opposite - we are in fact all connected to each other, to animals, to nature and this planet.
The Plague was wiping humans like millions a few centuries ago today new Human Plague is wiping whole wild animal world by millions non stop. Nature is really complex system if one species dominate too much it releases another anti species maybe virus and protect itself. Humans need to stop acting like Human Plague.
This is so sad. Poor baby elephant. I could also see that the carers were sad. I thought that most Africans, due to their own difficult situation, don't really care for animals but these people do.
But that baby elephant was in such a bad shape. It's awful that always animals pay when it are the humans who hunt them or destroy their habitat.
I think western media has totally distorted the image of Africans negatively just to make themselves and their countries look "the best". Not all Africans have "situations". Many in fact live happy lives. Anyway, I love elphants. I'm so glad these people are there to take care of those hurt souls. I love elephants.
Well, I can imagine if one has to struggle for food, housing and safety than there's little for environmental/animalwelfare. Also I think that the way we look and/or treat our animals is partly dependant on the social and religious culture. I believe that the animist/buddhist cultures tend to act relatively more respectful towards their environment, humans and animals. I did not mean to discriminate, I'm from African descendance. I love all animals. Anyone who tries to help them does great work.
i cryed in the first 3 seconds. you can tell by the title and the music that one of the elephants is dead or very very sick. i didnt want to watch any more.

They have their website.
You may read all the sad stories of those babies there and even help them. I was shocked.
Those people saved a lot of baby elephants indeed.
