  • this movie kicks ass, music's also great!

  • 0:33 What is it? What israeli soldier touched by his hands and dissapear? What is falling from the sky? Shining?

  • @dayane8102 in the lyrics it says something about clouds... im was wondering what it is too might be swarf or so

  • @HECKproductions

Its a Hebrew cover for I bombed Korea (by cake). You can find the original on youtube. It has the same theme. Being a confused tiny soldier in a big war. Shooting without really knowing why, or who gets killed.

  • @Metamorphose555 i know what it is i was just wondering what those things at 0:33 were because they dont look like flares to me

  • @dayane8102

Flares for night fighting. He doesnt really touch them.

  • @Metamorphose555 They look like WP to me, also the fact that he catches fire with that "emphatizing" sound.

  • i only saw this last night but i can't stop thinking about it! it's so sad, but it makes me have nightmares :/

  • @supar2100 they ordered the shabra and shatilla massacres, thats a fact

  • Comment removed

  • @Yitzchak2492 Have you been reading Martin van Creveld lately? ;-)

  • no matter how much a human group had suffered in the past, that doesnt gives them the right to cause even more pain to others

  • @supar2100 I'm Jewish and I know a lot of Zionists. I have yet to meet a Zionist who invokes the past suffering of my people as a justification for inflicting suffering on others.

  • i am also jewish and i dont think that that fact matters anywhere. also including your ignorance

  • @victor070 Your comment makes no sense. Take some time to learn English syntax and then come back when you are capable of writing coherently.

  • im tired of all this "theyre zionist" crap. Not all israelis are zionists!!!

  • @tylerdeath13 Iagree with you, that we do a little the peace in Israeli, they are not every Zionists, some people simply want to live in peace in the country or they were born!

  • God this scene never stops making my day, it's so fucking funny.

  • comenting on videos sure make you people feel important

  • best parts are 0:22, 0:58, and 1:05.

  • @ffffuuful Why see you not at first these men human rather than Zionists?

  • @51Totom

    because they're zionist.

  • Lol @ the soldier playing his gun like a guitar.

  • Brilliant Graphics!!!

  • 0:22

I know this isn't really supposed to make sense, but is that supposed to be a Syrian plane??

  • @Gramra

No, it's supposed to be an Israeli jet.

probably a reference for one of the cases in the war where Israeli jets accedently bombed Israeli troops, aka "friendly fire" incidents.

  • @Gramra no it's a Israeli F4 Phantom

  • @Gramra what Folman did was taking a bunch of real events (that didn't necessarily take place in that particular war) and fringing them. in that case it was one of several times an Israeli plane fired at Israeli soldiers.

  • @ceroeck

This IDF F4 bombing of an Israeli convoy took place in 1982 during the war - the pilot thought he was attacking Syrian convoy. A sad mistake, 26 IDF soldiers were killed. I knew a guy from there who still suffers from post trauma (2011)

  • @Metamorphose555 he got what he deserved as a baby-killer.

  • Truly pacifist crap.

God Bless Lebanon Militia and IDF!

  • @OchotaJack war is SENSELESS and dumb.

    but what should israel do?

    watch....????

  • @OchotaJack

what, 'god' bless a pack of murderers?

    scumbag alert!

  • It's not the exact chords I don't think, but this sounds like a dedication to Cake's - I Bombed Korea.

  • @CounterNormal I think you're right--sounds just like I bombed Korea

  • What's the white stuff dropping around 0:30? Phosphor?

  • @FireOps

I think it's supposed to be ash.

Phosphor leaves smoke behind and falls quickly

  • @NimDod

Well, but ash does not inflame you

  • @FireOps

I only noticed that spark at 0:34 after reading your post.

I dont know what it's supposed to symbolize.

  • I very like this film, and especial this part of it.

    Truly anti-war film!

  • I am iranian. My best friends are Lebanese Arab and Israeli jewish. while we get along very well, we are yet to understand why our governments can't.

  • @stivante because its much more complex then simple friendship unfortinatly

  • Brazilfilms u are right.

  • I want to see is tears shed for the 100,000thousand Lebanese Christians, raped, muredered & maimed by Palestinians & Muslims that provoked the killing of 600 Palestinians Sabra & Shatilla. But remember, in the city of Demur alone, 10,000 Christian civilians were murdered by Palestinians. I want to see tears shed for those victims & thousands of Israeli civilian victims of Palestinian terror. Palestinians never apologize for murdering & maiming civilians. They don't merit sympathy, but scorn.

  • Jews also do not shed tears for dead Christians, remember that. They gleefully cheer at the fact that they managed to get the Mooslums and Christians cut each others throat in Lebanon from 1975 to 1989 and beyond.

  • @jbravo41 oh ye? give me one proof that we "cheer" at that.

  • @Brazilfilms09able Well, 'we' christians have not always been the finest people around... Do you even know about the horrible massacres the christian crusaders perpetrated? And what about the forceful conversion of hundreds of Russ people who were comfortable with their religion. My point here is, there is stupid, mean or even evil people in EVERY religion and all throughout the world.

  • Keep in Mind that there is no such thing, as Evil People, we all have this potential in us, just like the one for Greatness, for the Good.

Also every offender in this conflict is a victim as well. In war people do not only commit things, but war does things with people, thats why there should be no WE Christians, or WE Muslims, or WE Jews, or suchlike, just WE Humans.

  • Indeed

  • Do you go around posting the same shit on every single youtube video that has clips from this movie? Can you stop that please? Sick of seeing the same thing copy-pasta'd everywhere.

  • @Brazilfilms09able ur completely corect the muslim and arabs worst enemies are themselves, they should praise israel for attempting to release them from their radical islamic rule. the world should thank israel for standing up to those mad islamists

  • 0:55 ha ha

  • Funny and tragic at the same moment.IDF RULES!

  • Israel rocks !!!!!!!! :D

  • this is a cover of Cake's "I Bombed Korea"

  • Personally, I like this version better. =P

It's heavier, more rock if you like. =]

  • שכולם תלכו לזדיין אין לכם מוסג על מה אתם מדרים!

I watched full metal Jacket last night, funny movie "Anyone that runs is a VC, Anyone that stands still is a well disciplined VC" and when he was asked "How can you shoot women and children?" He replied "Easy! Ya just don't lead 'em so much! Ain't war hell"

I be you guys probably laughed at 'that' movie

  • Could anyone write here lyrics in Hebrew, but using latin alphabet?

  • Kol yom hiftzatzti et Tzidon Bein pitriyot ashan ve'or rishon Yakholti gam lakhzor betokh aron Kol yom hiftzatzti et Tzidon Kol yom hiftzatzti et Beirut Kol yom hiftzatzti et Beirut Yatzati khai yakholti gam lamut Kol yom hiftzatzti et Beirut Be'lekhitza kala gamarnu al anashim she'lo hikarnu Haragnu betakh kama be'taut Yatzati khai yakholti gam lamut Kol yom hiftzatzti et Beirut
  • I've already got it. But thanks. :)

  • This scene makes no sense. It makes the Israeli military look like a mob of college frats or something at a party. The Israeli military is highly trained and very professional. You can say what you like politically, but the Israel Defense Forces are respectable, decent people on the battlefield. I respect this film, but it shows a very scewed, over simplified version of what happened. Israel invaded Lebanon to route palestinian militants. Lebanese factions developed and a bloody war ensued.

  • its just for laughss.......dont take it too seriously and everythings gonna be ok hahahaa

  • the IDF is respectable but it has a few rotten apples

remember the 1 shot two kills T-shirt?

  • @kig132

yeah, it was a t shirt that was privately made by some guys.

  • I think you'll find that all military forces act like this when at war, to some extent. It's impossible to be "respectable and decent" on the battlefield - that's not the job of the soldier. Lives become cheap and dispensable in a war zone. Look at the U.S.! The largest, most well-trained force on the planet, and still responsible for Abu Ghraib and My Lai. It's not their fault, they're acting just like they're supposed to, sadly.

  • Saying they are very well trained is a very subjective view, if u put a bunch of 20 year old etc.. in the middle of another country and make them wait with nothing to do they find ways of entertaining themselves

  • you have to watch the whole thing in context really. just picking out certain bits doesn't really do much.

  • I have watch the whole thing. Twice in fact

  • It is a personal and highly subjective reflection over a few men's experience in the Lebanon War. It's not meant to show "This is what the Israel Army did" or "This is what the phalangists did". It's just "This is what I experienced and how I felt when I was there."

What I think you don't understand about this scene is that it mixes real experiences with surreal imagery on purpose.

  • great movie

  • Mmmmh sometimes, but inocent people die for stupid reasons too.

    sometimes

  • I like how this movie exposes the absurdity of war.

  • Do some people not understand what Waltz with Bashir the film is saying about war.

You know Harry Patch, the last WW1 veteran in Britain died recently... after 2 world wars and I agree with him when he said that WAR IS NOTHING BUT ORGANISED MURDER

  • What if it's for defense?

  • @CrazyBean86 yeah, perfectly correct, but surrender is organised suicide.

  • @CrazyBean86 Noone likes war and what remains in its aftermath, however, to stand by and watch as innocents are slaughtered by dictators and ruthless monsters is even worse, noone wants another U.N. We have to realize that war is sometimes nessesary to maintain peace, though they seem to contradict they can can go hand in hand under certain circumstances. They can bring peace, if it was not for world war two the Nazi regime would still be in power, resulting in many innocent deaths.

  • @CrazyBean86

    Common people don't want war.

It is the leaders who determine the policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag people along.

Whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship.

Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders.

Simply tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism

and exposing the country to danger.

    Hermann Goering

  • Seriously! I’ve seen some soldiers commenting on this movie and they honestly think that this film is glorifying war as a defense of their nation. Frickin’ fools ... does that scene with the orange-red car being chased not make it obvious enough?

  • Israel Rocks !!!!!!!

  • Could someone writh the transcription?

  • watch?v=hb1CYVyknDE&feature=related

  • WAR IS FOR IDIOTS

  • Agreed.

  • I'm a 5, you're a pussy. Like I said, grow a pair, or move to the suburbs and stfu.

  • (3) We go to college, join some bullshit activist group and believe we're making a difference by holding protests and empty promises and threats. (4) We go with the flow and join in on the violence and use those means to manipulate the nieve(you) into getting what we want. (5) We go to war, we fight to change what's wrong with the world, we obtain a strong understanding of violence and learn to accept it and apply it in an effective way to those number 4s

  • atque, ubi solitudinem faciunt, pacem appellant

  • "They give the name peace to the desolation they leave behind" What are you trying to tell me? If you don't like me or what i stand for why didn't you throw in "Auferre trucidare rapere falsis nominibus imperium" which means "under false authority they rob, slaughter, and plunder"

Thats what most people think. They hang on every word the liberal media shoves down their throat. If you haven't seen a battlefield, you don't understand why I do what I do, and you never will

  • "If you don't like me or what i stand for why didn't you throw in "Auferre trucidare rapere falsis? nominibus imperium" which means "under false authority they rob..."

I'm not the one who mentioned the rest of that ancient text, it was you who did that.

"Thats what most people think. They hang on every word the liberal media shoves down their throat."

liberal media? That sounds like such an all American cliché. Something on the same line as "freedom fries" or "friendly fire".

  • "If you haven't seen a battlefield, you don't understand why I do what I do, and you never will"

Well, I don't think that I have to experience it personally just to have an opinion on the matter.

I have yet to see a war that was constructive, I have yet to see violence that doesn't generate more future violence and hatred, and I really don't think that armies put soldiers to go through all those years of training in order for them to become caring babysitters.

  • My dads dead, my brothers dead, and I lost connections with everyone else. There 5 kinds of ppl in this world. (1)We all start like you, sheltered and nieve. Then one day we come to the realization that the world is a brutal unforgiving place and that's when we decide what kind of person we're going to be. (2) We ignore the harsh reality of life, act like things are perfect, and move to the suburbs and forget all about the worlds problems

  • Yo quiero bombardear chiapas !!!!!!!!

  • Damn, I did. I am traumatized. At the end, as I saw the cartoons turning into real people, into dead people, into crying people, I had a nervous breakdown. Honestly, one of the most shocking films ever.

  • What happened in those camps was a horrible tragedy and unfortunately things like that happen all over the world BUT you're a total pussy, and you need to grow a pair. Great movie

  • gotta love that red mercedes :) almost as good as the truck that blew up 200 american soldiers in the same country jusssst kiddinnnnnn

  • (i only just found out they were a peace keeping force so sorry about that! But the red mercedes still rocks)

  • The guy in the car must have been feeling invincible...

  • i think the lyric "i almost went home in a coffin" is a tribute to a song Israeli soldiers used to sing during the '82 war. something to the effect of "Sharon sent us out here, we'll be coming home in a coffin." (really crappy translation).

  • great song?? are they happy coz they started killing people and getting them out of their houses without a cause?? shame on u
